Diner Reviews
  • "The food was great. Service was friendly and accommodating to special needs. It is a great treat to have fine dining out in the wilderness."

  • "Not gourmet, but after a slow start, the service was good and the good delicious. Hard to beat the view--the moose in the meadow was an unexpected treat!"

  • "After 4 trips to the Mural Room over the past 15 years, I think this last visit was the best yet. Both the food and service are wonderful. The best place for a "fancy" night out in Grand Teton or Yellowstone."

  • "Exceeded our expectations. Great service, delcious food, spectacular view."

  • "Although the Mural Room is quite pricey, the chance to dine on fine food with a view of the Grand Tetons can't be missed. The room itself is lovely with historic murals adorning the walls. There is an interesting selection on the menu with specialities such as elk loin. The main course portion sizes were generous, but I felt the salad was rather sparse for the money. There is an extensive wine list and the attentive staff ensure that your choice matches your food selections. In fact, the service was outstanding. A terrific experience, all round."

  • "Restaurant has perfect view of Tetons, with a fairly upscale and unique menu. However, the service we received did not equal the price we paid. Expected exceptional service from the 'nicest' restaurant at resort, however server didn't check on us enough, needed refills, server was never around to order another drink. Was glad to pay bill and get out of there....opted to have dessert next door in the diner where we had great dessert(not as fancy of course), drinks, and awesome service!"

  • "The view is spectacular, food is average and expensive. The Blue Heron is casual with pub fare but the view is just as good."
    Dined on 7/10/2014
  • "The service was nonexistent and the food was over cooked. It was the first time I have ever been given a steak knife to cut duck confit with but it was needed. The waiter was inattentive and dismissive. Don't waste your money."

  • "View Grand Teton while enjoying local fare deliciously prepared. Our first dinner was so great we got reservations for the next night too. Wide variety in entrees and appetizers if you don't want a full meal. Full bar and wine."

  • "This restaurant sits in the Jackson Lake Lodge in Teton National Park. Food was the best I have ever had inside a National Park. Every thing we ordered was perfectly cooked and the service moved at a very nice pace. As we looked out of the panoramic windows there were Moose wandering in the willow valley and a heard of Elk on the distant lake shore. Management brought a nice pair of binoculars to add to the viewing pleasure. Great food and fantastic view."

  • "We ate here 2 of the 7 nights we were in Yellowstone/Grand Teton National Parks, and it was by far the best food we ate. (The other nights were at Lake Yellowstone Hotel & Cabins.) The view from the restaurant is incomparable, the menu varied, and the food well prepared. The only disappointment was the service, which was lacking both nights. Everyone was very friendly, but (other than the water service) relatively inattentive even though three different people appeared to be involved in the service. Overall a nice experience that could be great with better service."

  • "The food is okay but overpriced and the service is slow but the views are great."

  • "eat here for the view. the menu is limited and tries hard. service is slow as all workers are seasonal"

  • "We were seated by the windows facing the Tetons early evening. Ordered a pleasant Malbec to go with our elk and duck dinners. We enjoyed the heirloom tomato salad. They were truly heirloom type tomatoes and excellent flavor this early in the summer. All in all a very pleasant experience. If I have any complaint it would be to better protect the wine from the warmth of the sun."

  • "Food was very good, service was very good. But lets face it... the location is what this restaurant is all about! Stunning views of the Teton Range complement the menu perfectly."

  • "The view of the Tetons, and ability to watch for wild life while eating a delightful and wonderful brunch, lunch or dinner is worth scheduling for your trip to the Tetons. Louis was a wonderful waiter - very attentive, and certainly knew the menu. Delightful - was a birthday celebration, and a VERY deserving spot for that occasion!"

  • "A great dinner with a wonderful view and attentive staff! Our waiter - Mark or Matt, I can't remember - was perfect! Outstanding is all there is to say!"

  • "First off, menu sways way too much towards meat and game. We had the two veggie items and, sadly, for the price, mine was fair, the other was disappointing. Service is excellent. Joe and Alex were terrific. Suggestion - go to the Pioneer Grill next door to the Mural Room. Food tastes better, much cheaper and the service is OUTSTANDING! "

  • "View was amazing! If not for the view the restaurant would not be worth the premium cost of the meal. Service was attentive, wine list good, decor is a little tired. Was there during a conference so bar was noisy and so crowded that there was no place to sit. Even so would still recommend going once just to see the mountain view."

  • "Spectacular view of the Grand Tetons from the dining room and nearby veranda."

  • "The Mural Room Is a beautiful dining room with a magnificent view overlooking the Tetons. It serves very good food if you stick to the elk and steak items. Also coq au vin which was delicious and comforting. The salads are weird except for the garden green which I loved. We ate there two evenings and were not disappointed. The service is very good and the wine choices excellent. And the place has that view which you can not get out of your mind. The breakfast buffet is very good with a great many choices. The fresh berries were such a treat on a trip which up to that point had been short on culinary pleasures. Go for it. Breakfast and dinner. It is a unique dining experience in the National Park system and we have been to many."

  • "If you're traveling in Grand Teton National Park and enjoy fine dining you must go to the Mural room: end of story! Reserve a window table to view the awe-inducing Tetons - I think if we had been sitting in the interior of the room, we would have missed something important. The food is very good but shy of outstanding. Ordinary dinner rolls and a poorly presented flourless chocolate cake slightly marred what should have been a 5-star meal. (Crab cakes appetizer and grilled wild salmon: heavenly.) Our waiter was attentive and friendly but brought the wrong salad and didn't offer more coffee. However: don't let my nitpicking turn you off - overall our experience was superb."

  • "With a floor to ceiling backdrop of the spectacular Teton Mountains, the view just doesn't get any better! Add to that a reasonably priced breakfast buffet with a waffle bar complete with huge, ripe berries of various varieties and all the other breakfast staples to choose from, what's not to like? I had read some off putting reviews about the mural room and what you get for what you pay, but I must say I was extremely happy with the entire experience."

  • "Great food, great servicel. You have the best service and servers in the state! In several states. Put that with the view and what a winner!!!!! I could have cut my steak with a fork ( I did not), the drinks were excellent, even the dish-picker-upers were talkative and smiling, thanks for a wonderful experiance for my wife and I."

  • "I had the opportunity to dine twice in The Mural Room of the Jackson Lake Lodge during a recent vacation in Yellowstone. The first time for breakfast which had a very good buffet selection. THe second time for an exquisite dinner. The view of the Tetons is breathtaking and worth the visit alone."

  • "Very good food, good wine list, nice ambiance, and unsurpassed view of Tetons from the restaurant's picture windows. For a national park lodge, this is an exceptional restaurant. Should not be missed on your visit to Grand Teton National Park."

  • "Both my husband and I found our steaks to be cooked too rare. The waiter suggested we order medium, and there were areas where both steaks were bloody. My husband sent his back. I just didn't finish mine."

  • "You could not get a better view of the Grand Tetons and wildlife while sitting at this restaurant. We had a window seat, however most seats can view the outdoors through the large glass windows."

  • "We had lunch at the Mural Room in Teton National Park. We had attentive, friendly service and a FABULOUS view. The food was really good and plentiful. The caprese salad was plenty for 4 of us. Great Reuben on jalapeño bread."

  • "Food and service was excellent. Hostess was poor in that she tried to set everyone next to the service area, even though their were many more desirable tables available. We requested another table, and the person seating us complied. However the hostess sat the next party in the less desirable location."

  • "A terrific waiter and astonishing views of the Tetons. Here's the food story. Wonderful buffalo carpaccio, a lobster bisque that was out of this world. Very tasty truffle potatoes. The prime rib frankly was tough and lousy. Ditto for a very cold and obviously somewhat old creme brulee Wine selection was fine and reasonably priced. All in all, a good, if not great experience."

  • "We had a wonderful family meal with our adult daughter at the Mural Room. We had last dined at the Mural Room fifteen years ago when our children were young and feared that it would not live up to the delicious memory that we had. We were, thankfully, wrong. The dinner was wonderful and the restaurant honored our request for a table near the magnificent window views. The wait staff was attentive but not obtrusive. We would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "The Prime Rib I had the first night was absolutely Fabulous and the rest of my meal was great too! My breakfast the next morning was just as wonderful with a great presentation with a flower included and they had my Gluten Free Toast~~I was in Love with this place!! The service was stupendous as well and could not have had a better waiter! He was absolutely amazing! Can't praise this enough!!"

  • "Menu looks great on paper but in reality, the preparation is very pedestrian. This is not the place for foodies looking for a gourmet experience. Great for families and tourists who don't mind paying high end prices for the scenic view only."

  • "The Mural Room at the Jackson Lake Lodge is a favorite stop of mine when visiting the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. They offer a wonderful breakfast buffet along with menu selections and your table is a viewing area of the wildlife preserve below. The food is as excellent as the service. After dining I like to visit the terrace just outside the restaurant and hike up a trail off to the right. The views are absolutely spectacular from this vantage point. I also like to visit the wonderful shops the lodge has to offer before heading off to Yellowstone. Enjoy!!"

  • "Delicious creative dishes, attentive staff, great atmosphere, historic murals inside, elk habitat outside. More expensive than other park venues but worth it."

  • "Almost did not eat here and so glad that we dined here. Staff friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Food was very good in a beautiful historic building with incredible views. I would repeat this experience."
    Dined on 8/16/2013
  • "The best thing going for the Mural Room is the view. You can't beat the spectacular scenery laid out in front of you. The food was hot, well prepared, tasty, but nothing to write home about. Our salads were probably the best of the items we ordered. I honestly think that if the meal started out with a basket of hot fresh bread, rather than the strange dry bland stuff we got, it would have set a better tone for the entire meal."

  • "I did not expect such an outstanding dining experience. The food and service were both fantastic. The view breathtaking, our server, Christy made it a very special dinner."
