It is casual, yet elegant and European in feel. We started with a chicken sausage and parsnip purée appetizer, plus a green salad with Spanish cheese. Then we shared a big seafood paella. Traditional dishes are given a modern interpretation, which we liked. Wines and cocktails were also of special interest. Tasty tapas accompanied by a tempranillo just about perfectly matched to the food and an attentive waiter, made for a pleasant evening. Absolutely wonderful - our favourite are the stuffed dates which are delicious! This also seems to be one of the more buzzing places in the extremely quiet neighbourhood of Carmel - if you're not one of the people who want to be tucked up in bed by 9 then you should check this place out! I think it is the best tapas place I have ever eaten in the Bay Area including San Francisco. The staff is knowledgable , attentive and fun to work with.
