We mentioned that it was our first time there and she seated us at the best table with perfect view. We were very impressed with the service, the view and the food. We will definitely go back to Muddy Rudder again! Our waiter was fabulous. The appetizer of popcorn shrimp was fresh and not overcooked, our seafood dinners of baked seafood and scampi were cooked to perfection with great presentation and taste. We elected for the suggested wine pairings which was a perfect choice on our part. The Muddy Rudder is a great dining experience for that special occassion or no occassion at all. First-- prices quoted on the drink menu were inaccurate-- we were charged $1 more per drink on the actual bill-- They need to update their menus so that these are in sync. Secondly, we ordered one of the specials for the evening... while the meal was fantastic-- we were never informed of the price ahead of time-- and were shocked to see that is was SOOO MUCH MORE expensive than anything else on the menu. I would suggest that the servers-- when telling the diners about the specials that they also state the price... very simple and most restaurants do this. The service was top notch and our server was informative, knowing the menu extremely well. I had 3 oysters for an app served on half shell. I usually do not use cocktail sauce, only Tabasco but their homemade cocktail sauce was great. My entree was Asian Sea Bass with a Lobster Avacado Salsa. Awesome! My husband had an old stand-by, fried clams and they were done perfect and crisp. I did not have dessert because there just wasn't any room. The waiter was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and we all enjoyed our entrees. My husband has a lot of dietary restrictions and he was pleased with the gluten-free menu and the willingness of the cooking staff to prepare his meal without dairy products. He left the restaurant full and without stomach pain - quite unusual for him! The groupon "deal" was also wonderful and I would buy it again if it popped up, but I'd also be willing to go here for any special occasion at "regular" prices.
