Comes to the table on a very hot plate sizzling. Seasoning flavor was delicious and was cooked to a perfect medium rare. My fiancé had the twin lobster tails and they were very very good. My garlic mashed potatoes were a great side for the steak. She had the potatoe au gratin and it was good but not great. Cheesecake for desert with caramel on the side was a nice finish. Nice wine list with a good range of offering and prices by the bottle. We will go back and dine here again. The service was very good. Also, be sure to try their new sister restaurant, Desi Vega's Steakhouse. It's also on St. Charles, about 10 blocks away from Mr. John's. I have never had a bad meal at Mr. John's. Great for special occasions. I recommend and early seating so you can take your time and savor the meal. We tried the WhoDat Shrimp (beacon wrapped crab cake stuffed with a whole prawn and deep fried). The mozzarella and tomatoes were delightful. I had the fillet and the sizzling butter made me want to lick the plate. There famous for the sirloin which was favorable. The craw fish mac and cheese and au'gratin spinach was absolutely delicious we could not event finish our meals.
