Diner Reviews
  • "We had a reservation for 10:30pm and the waiter only concern was to have the order soon because the kitchen would close. So, he was impatient to explain the menu and the combo options because there was a risk we couldn't get anything from the kitchen... We ended up ordering a combo that individually we would have paid cheaper than as a combo!"

  • "I was extremely dissapointed with our dinner . The only thing good was the service. It was very expensive and everything was served cold and needed to be sent back. We were there early before it got busy so there was no excuse for cold food. The menu has individual prices listed but they tell you that you have to order from the fixed menu which includes an appetizer and entree for each person. That seemed to be a bit of a scam. The amount of food was fine because the portions were not big. I would not eat there again. "

  • "What can we add to our already generous complements we give to our friends about Mr. Chow's. The food is consistently delicious, the service couldn't be more attentive! We love the Squabb with Lettuce Cups, the Box Rolls, the Broth rolls, Beijing Chicken, Crispy Beef, Green Prawns. Actually everything is great on the menu. We come up with various excuses to make this "Special Occasion" restaurant a constant spot for our family celebrations!"

  • "We had the latest reservation available 10:30pm. Keeping in mind that going to a restaurant at closing hours can be a recipe for rushed and/or an iffy experience with service and food. We ended up witnessing the clean up and close out of tabs amoungst the servers and bus staff. We also had 3 different waiters since ours was busy with end-of-shift affairs. It felt trendy and not in a good way. The music was loud and hard, I assume that was because of the late night scene. We were pleased with the food and portions. "

  • "Man this place is a SCENE -- especially during events like Art Basel. Food is solid -- but go for the people watching."

  • "Mr.Chow Miami Has basic food with child like portions. The bill for 3 was $ 297.30 and we all left hungry. I think if the food was actually good then maybe the price would not be so upsetting! We would never visit again and will definitely consider this experience a lesson learned."

  • "Very funny, all kinds of people. Service is very good and friendly. They are used to tourists, helpful to them and fair in the suggestions. Do not loose the chance to visit while in Miami."

  • "If your looking for trendy this is the place for you. Food is very good and a little different than you would expect for Chinese / Asian The service was very poor for a Sunday night which is the least crowded if the weekend nights."

  • "Yes, it's expensive but its worth it! Never tasted anything like this before! Would go again for sure!"

  • "I am always disappointed in the service - had to ask 3 times for chopsticks; water not poured or refilled for 2 hours; not once did a waiter check on us throughout the dinner to see if things were ok. The food is always good but given the price point one expects much better service."

  • "Went with my girlfriends - the food was spectacular (they have a good vegan options) and the staff were so good to us! Thank you!!"

  • "Very good experience. I have dined her before. I often think the waiter make up their own rules. For instance, there are four people so you have to order four starters etc. This is too pushy and it comes across as not right. Is this really their policy? If so it should be stated on the menu."

  • "Never disappointed at Chow's,pricey, but worth every 5 "C" Notes. I keep on coming back for more!"

  • "Even if you have a reservation, they always make you wait. And when you order, you must do as they say pushing you to order as much as they want. Servers are arrogant and treat you like trash. And when the check arrives you will not get an itemized receipt but rather a bill for 2 meals!!"

  • "As always dinner was nice, the duck was excellent..the waiter remembered us even though we had not been back there last since November. Alhough I am not a fan of far eastern food, my friend is a huge fan and she wants to go often when she is in town. I am glad we ate outside because when we went through the restaurant after dinner, the indoors area was packed and we could hardly get by, and the noise level was loud..."

  • "The best restaurant in South Beach - Great food, great service, geat ambiance!"

  • "Went to Mr. Chow for a nice meal and came away very disappointed. We are vegetarian, but thought this would be no problem since Chinese restaurants have abundant options with tofu, noodles and flavorful rice dishes. Mr. Chow supremely disappoints, and considers vegetarian to be "steamed vegetables" and dumplings filled only with spinach. Their version of vegetarian can be had by simply going to the produce aisle of your grocery store, and you'll save yourself the $200 you would have wasted on dinner. Go for the great vibe, but don't expect much from the food."

  • "If you want to be treated rudely by the staff at a restaurant in South Beach, then definitely go to Mr. Chow-Miami. Their attitude was so bad it was a joke. And we are neither a demanding group nor a bunch of hillbillies. We live in NYC and Sao Paolo and eat at nice restaurants every week. Food was good but the service was *so bad* that the entire experience was a bust. You've been warned."

  • "I came with my wife for our 5th valentines date. It was amazing! From the wine to the food to the service, it was all spectacular. Great food, excellent ambient, super service... You never will never go wrong if you choose Mr. Chow for a romantic evening."

  • "The spare ribs are good; other food was average. Outdoor ambiance is nice. Tables are short for tall people. Outdoor seating is set back far from table; better for lounging than eating at table. Service is pretty good; staff very attentive."

  • "What was once a great occasion is now a poor decision. Lacked ambiance. Service poor. Food poor. Waiter pushed for a sampling menu and you end up with stuff you would probably otherwise avoid and with good reason once you try it. Best to select for yourself for better experience but even better to go elsewhere. Not how it used to be."

  • "Enjoyed the food and ambiance. Beware hard sell of the expensive champagne. Waiters tend to serve quickly but slow down when you ask."

  • "The decor was outstanding. The food like a take away chinese. The service do not fit to the environment. The valet parking is a robery, 24 dollars for 2 hours time. Overall was a poor exoerience."

  • "we have been here several times and the 1 in ny so it shouldn't be surprising as to how overpriced the food is. dinner for 2 - 1 drink each was $200 and we left hungry! there are too many servers hovering about. the waiter pushes you to order dishes you don't want. we wanted to order a bunch of appetizers but were told we had to order a main dish. my daughter doesn't eat pork or meat or fish so we had to order a chicken main dish even tho we were getting the chicken 'satay' skewers and the 'squab' lettuce wraps. that main dish was ok but it doesn't even come with plain white rice. . the noodle dish we ordered was a plate of mushy noodles with something like spicy ketchup poured on it. the other dishes were tasty but are 'tapas' portions."

  • "This was not what I expected it to be the good was horrible and over priced they serve small portions for a lot of money. It's suppose to be a great Chinese restaurant but I was extremely disappointed. The servers were great. As you can tell my only problem was with the food it was horrible and I mean everything we had we were extremely disappointed."

  • "We had made reservation for our special event (wedding anniversary) with note about food preferences. However, ended up waiting for 25 minutes to get the table. They seem to have 4-5 tables arranged for party of 2 in the hallway pass the bar which is very congested and inconvenient to sit, let alone eat the entire dinner thru it. 2 stars.... * Waited 25 minutes even with confirmed reservation * Very congested inconvenient seating for 2 * Overprized menu compared to food and push for pre-fix * Had to order the entire food at the beginning * Servers lack of attention for checking on water and stepping on us couple times * Loud music and overall noise We have dined at restaurants prized higher/lower with better service and food quality."

  • "What the quality of food and service comes with a hefty price tag, I would say that every morsel of food was off the charts. I mainly go for the Beijing Duck, but the other courses were truly amazing."
    Dined on 1/24/2014
  • "The evening started with my partner and I being directed to a table for two. The tables are so close together, (around 15 cm), that they actually had to move the table so one of us could get in and take a seat. The closeness to other customers means you overhear everything they say. Our waiter got the first course order wrong, and when we addressed this with him, we were told that is "highly unlikely; I don't make mistakes". The food was good, but considering the aforementioned issues, I would recommend anyone to go somewhere else."

  • "Pleasant environment however, ancient music. Terrible service the waiter Mr Bojan and general manager Mr Patrice Rozat was terrible! I think that they have changed the team and the manager. Do not recommend!!! Terrible! These guys don´t know how to serve a customer!"

  • "This place is trying to offer a fine dining experience whilst serving mediocre Chinese food on cheap back street stainless table wear, whilst playing Gang Nam Style at volume 11! The service was comically over attentive and failed to deliver what it was desperate to achieve. All that said the thing that makes this unacceptable is the price tag. This is the most overpriced restaurant I have been, you would get better chinese food for 100 times less! Steer clear."

  • "Food - other than the chicken satay, was good, but not exceptional for somewhere located at The W Hotel. Service - was non remarkable! The sommelier spilled the wine each time he poured, glasses were left unfilled with no waiter to be found. The food menu comes 10 minutes after the wine list, which was strange to pick what wine we wanted when we have no idea what to order! Wine - the list is very heavily concentrated on American Chardonnays... not what you'd expect from a top spot Overall - a disappointment considering the reputation of the W Hotel... this place needs to step up!"
