Mr. Chow - MalibuAlternative to Beverly HillsMr. Chow is famous in LA for its Beverly Hills location.Paparazzi are outside from open to close waiting for a glimpse of a celebrity. Their Malibu location is considerably more intimate and casual but with the same great attention to detail and service. The staff were very attentive and always had a smile or tidbit of information to dispense on the food or history of the Mr. Chow empire. Although I have had better Asian food in the past, the service and overall atmosphere elevated the experience. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMTHANK YOU FOR COMING TO USWe are very happy to be getting quality restaurants and have a choice in Malibu.. Unbelievable Beijing Duck, just wished it came a little quicker. It is are 4th time there since it opened in Malibu and will be back soon!!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMr Chows Giltfood was delicious!!!!! They stuck all the guests with Gilt certificates along the back wall- not nice. There were many empty tables in the restaurant.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMIgnore the complaints on Yelp-Despite a lot of grousing online, we had a great experience at Mr. Chow. We arrived a bit early for a drink at the bar (the jalapeño cocktail was tasty but not very spicy). We were seated on time and although the tables are packed tightly and scene is noisy- it worked well and had a fun, energetic vibe. We ordered the semi-pre-fixed Peking duck tasting menu and found that everything we ordered was quite good. Highlights were the Ma Mignon, Drunken Fish, and the prawns. Wait staff was excellent, professional, but clearly trained to sell- be careful if you are on a budget. Plenty of celebs and Malibu fashion on display. The chef came out and put on a show of making noodles. All in all a very entertaining evening.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMChow Down in MalibuVery Pricey, but the great service and above average food warrants the hefty price tag.2/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
