  • great food BUT mislead regarding pricing

there is not doubt, the food is great (chicken satay & Mr Chows Noodles), however you should definitely confirm pricing when you order. our cheque for two came to $72 per person plus drinks & taxes (no tip) = $240. The value of the items on the menu was FAR less than that, especially for my wife who is a vegetarian which her two dishes would have come to $40 MAX. When I questioned the waiter he said when a party of two orders two entrees, two mains & two sides together it AUTOMATICALLY becomes $72pp! I don't believe this was stated on the menu. There was a set menu for about $60 but we felt it wasn't worth it so we ordered our dishes individually.  Being an exclusive customer service orientated restaurant I would expect that the waiters would explain the value better ... We didn't make a big deal about it and just paid it but didn't leave a tip as it was a disappointment to end our night on a negative ... Don't make them same mistake!

For what I paid and what I reveived it was not worth it and we were so close everyone was in your conversation. The noodle making was nice. For appetizer we recieved two sticks of chicken that were a inches long. Just 2 ? The portion were really small and my tab were huge for two people. I won't be back. I only like two out of the 6 plates they brought out. The rice was t really good. We both were very disappointed.

Food was excellent . Beautifully plated and delicious . The lychee martini is a terrific , refreshing and tasty cocktail. The Chicken Satay and Crispy beef are must haves . The walnut shrimp is also very good . The overall service was good. Staff was attentive for the most part . We did have a reservation at 8 and weren't seated until 9 which is ridiculous . Overall great experience

We came here after reading several reviews already stating that the food was mediocre, so we didn't expect the world. The food was as good as my local Chinese food restaurant that I place take-out orders at. We got lucky and got a booth near the bar. I would really hate to sit elbow to elbow with all of the patrons in the main dining section. The bar was a decent experience, the restaurant was nicely decorated, but the food was just okay. We paid $480 for the 2 of us. That included 5 dishes (shared home style) 4 cocktails each, and a tip. This is merely a place to see and be seen, as the stars were out!

Although this has been a restaurant which we frequently visit when we travel to Beverly Hills we may not make it back in anytime soon. The food quality has diminished greatly as well as the portions. We have always allowed the waiter to bring us his recommendations and have been pleased. When the charge is 100.00 a person the quantity should be ample and of good quality. Sorry, Mr Chow there are far too many choices in the Beverly Hills/West Hollywood area. This restaurant just does not cut it anymore.

As always, enjoyed my birthday dinner @ Chow's. I notice a lot of reviews about the establishment mention that it's pricey. It is! But, you won't get a better meal, great service and energetic ambience. In addition to celebrity sightings. Charlie Rose and Cicely Tyson were there the evening we went.

The seats was uncomfortable the tables was crowded in a bad way the food it self is under the expansion maybe the appraisers is much better than the main cours. Not recommended for eneyone like real Chinese food.

I Flew to LA to have a birthday dinner with my son, turning 28. We had both been really looking forward. We were seated in the WORST seat in the house...I was squashed into a seat with a person on one side and I was up against a high serving counter on the other. I felt like a sardine in a corner. I couldn't move to even use the ladies room without causing a total disruption! The food was so disappointing. The pan seared dumplings were fair, with almost no taste, very greasy. The Gamblers duck was so dry and overcooked! The Ginger Lobster had no taste of ginger, also just boring. The fried rice was bland and boring as well. The best dish was the noodle appetizer.

A friend who has been to Mr Chow recommended the restaurant for an experience. A friend from Australia and I went while on a visit to LA, and had a great night. We were initially a bit surprised at how expensive it was, but it was worth it for the ambiance, service and people watching; and of course the food was excellent.

We had a reservation at 9 pm but we had our table 9:45 so we waited 45 mintues stand. This was unacceptable. While they were taking the reservation they must inform us. Welcoming was very poor. Nobody can ask for a drink while we were waiting in the queue. This is a 5 star restaurant they didnt serve like that. We paid around 200 dollar with tip but they welcomed us like a fast food restaurant.

LA is an "effected" staff. The only thing here that is great is the perhaps the people. I found this to be very expensive with little value. Tribeca has ambiaence, makes you feel personally at home, food is very good and I think the portions are substantially better.

We went to Mr Chow for my wife 50th birthday. It was my son, my wife and I. The service was pretty good. The food was okay, and they forgot one of our entrees, but that didn't stop them from charging me $250 for dining with them. I would not recommend this restaurant. For that kind of money I expect a much better dining experience.
