Diner Reviews
  • "We loved our dinner here. The burrata with arugula and tomato was outstanding. The meatball pizza was wonderful, as well. We also had a margarita pizza, which was good, but it definitely needed more basil. There were several pieces of the pizza with no basil at all. But, overall it was great and we will return."

  • "The food was disappointingly average, and our server was clearly brand new to the task. Nothing terribly wrong, but also nothing to bring us back any time soon, I'm afraid."

  • "The food was fine and the wairter was nice however, the service was poor. The place was not very busy however, i think there were not enough waiters. We waited a long time before the waiter came to the table and it took a long time tio get our drinks. He did not come back to take our order until we had finished our first glass of wine. The waiter warned us the deep dish pizza would be a longer wait and we were fine with it. When the food came we ordered another glass of wine and by the time it came we were almost done with our meal. if we go back, I think it will be for take out."

  • "We had reservations on a busy Saturday night and were treated like we were the only people in the place. The Hostess brought us to a table and we asked to be changed to a booth which she did without so much as an eye-roll- Wonderful! The pizza crust on our pizzas was outstanding so were the salads. The Blue Lotus drink was not good, tasting like muddled nothing. Our waiter was great so was the dessert."

  • "Great Cabrese salad, pizzas are much better than Punch. Homeade Gelato. A little noisy, but manageable. They have deals with the Theater across the street. Awesome."

  • "Had a great happy hour with delicious appetizers and wine!"

  • "This restaurant is amazing. I love going there. The mozzarella is not to be missed! Order the sampler platter. The small one is enough for 4 people as an appetizer, but would also be awesome as a meal with wine for 1 or 2. Their pasta and mozzarella are made fresh daily and you can tell the difference! Yum Yum. It is a little on the loud side, so I wouldn't recommend if you're looking to dine with more intimate conversation."

  • "My wife and I went there for my birthday. Had a great time, loved the food, Wine and apple cinnamin desert."

  • "Fun trendy pizzas plus snazzy extras! Garlic bread more cheese than garlic, but all else exceptional. Will return and will recommend!"

  • "We were headed out to celebrate my nephews 18th birthday. He had chosen another pizzareia. When we arrived there the restaurant was very small and very crowded. The wait was 1 and 1/2 hours. Also our party size grew from 11 to 13. I suggested Mozza Mia and we all decided to head on over. The Mozza staff bent over backwards to accommodate us. Even buying drinks for a couple at a large table to downsize their table. Dan and Nick provided excellent service! Thanks Mozza Mia! We will be back."

  • "First time to the restaurant and the hostesses seemed a bit overwhelmed. We did make reservations and were seated fairly promptly. The table for 2 was very small and could barely fit our drinks and food. The tables were also very close together so there was barely room to move our seats around. The noise level was so loud that I couldn't have a conversation with my husband and could barely hear our server. I understand the whole 'industrial feel' but there has to be a way to buffer the sound a bit better. The food was good but wouldn't go back due to the noise level."

  • "The appetizers are fabulous but overpriced for the portion size. The pizza is ok but nothing to write home about. I have had much better. The sauce has a sweetness to it which is nasty. The pasta entree was undercooked, chewy and not good. The restaurant plays background music which is LOUD and combined with a full house of guests makes for an atmosphere that is NOT conducive to socializing. When speaking, you can't hear the person across the table because of the loud music, other patrons and noisy children and why go out when you can't converse."

  • "The bartender was also our server and he did an amazing job meeting our needs and managing the bar. Great personality, smile and knowledge of the menu. We actually let him order some items for us and his recommendations were spot."

  • "2nd trip to Mozza Mia. The service experience was pretty bad. Our server was polite and courteous, however she often forgot about us or mixed up our orders. The appetizers showed up after a bit, and we had to remind our server about our first round of drinks -- which when they showed up were wrong. Everyone at the table got a beer other than they ordered. Also, if you order a beer at Mozza Mia and expect 16 ounces in a pint glass, be prepared to get only 12 ounces. They continually shorted the pours despite when we pointed it out before ordering additional glasses. The food did not disappoint, however, and everyone in the party enjoyed the taste and quality. I will go back for the pizza, but probably order carry-out."

  • "I've dined at MM a number of times. For whatever reason, service was pretty slow during my recent experience. We were seated promptly. It took a while for our server, who seemed to be training someone, to stop at our table. We ordered drinks & appetizer. Our app came 10-15 minutes later, and we hadn't been given our tap beer, house wine, milk for our daughter, or even water at that point! Pretty unacceptable. The server said there was a "mix up at the bar" but why didn't we at least get the milk or water? And a tap beer and house wine shouldn't be that tricky. After that, the server & other staff seemed to be more attentive. Our food was very good and we still had fun. Despite all the hiccups, all the staff were very friendly."

  • "The food continues to be wonderful with lots of "real" foods from Italy. Most portions require doggy bags and the second meal is just as delicious as the original. We brought friends who hadn't been to Mozza Mia previously and they were delighted with their meals. Make sure to sample one of the cheese samplers for an appetizer too."

  • "The wood-fired pizzas at Mozza's are wonderful. Prices are reasonable. Wine and beer lists are respectable. The noise level, on the other hand, is awful. Conversations are loud, necessitated by all the other conversations. To make matters worse, music is constantly being played LOUDLY. Don't go expecting a quiet meal or easy conversation over a very good pizza. Expect the din!"

  • "Great variety of pastas and pizzas. They make their own mozzarella which was exceptional. It was very loud and busy when we arrived at 7:30 but the restaurant was empty at about 10:00 pm."

  • "We ordered the cheese plate appetizer for four. Great variety of fresh mozzarella and ricotta. Could have just made this my meal. Pizza was also wonderfully good. One of our party ordered the deep dish and they recommended not to put more than 3 ingredients so that it cooks properly. After sampling both, our table recommends the regular pizza. Also enjoyed the $10/bottle wine list specials."

  • "This was our second time here as we had an awesome experience the first time. Both visits were on a Saturday night, three weeks apart. From the hostess"forgetting" about us when we checked in (hard to believe as we were standing right next to the hostess stand) resulting in being seated late, to the server ignoring us for 9minutes after being seated and helping the table next to use seated after us (yes, we timed it), to our order being wrong; it wasn't a memorable experience. The only highlight was dessert. Their apple crisp topped with the salted caramel gelato was awesome. The manager attempted to make up for our messed up dinner order by comping dessert. If we go back, we will ask not to sit in that server's section."

  • "The food was good, but it took forever to get it and the restaurant on a Sunday night was not that busy. The waitress was nice but a little odd. Its like she was on stage trying to entertain us (or just be humorous)."

  • "Unique and delicious pizza. Our server/waiter was excellent, great recommendations, friendly, checked in often to make sure we were happy and satisfied. We'll definitely be back again in the near future to try something else."

  • "We tried Mozza Mia as we are big fans of woodfire pizza. The pizza was good, and they had some creative combinations that I enjoyed quite a bit, my husband not as much. The traditional we ordered was meh. Service was incredible. Fun when you have a server so enthusiastic about her job!"

  • "We read the reviews and had average expectations. The food was not as good as it should have been. For all the hype and cost we expected better quality food. The Ceasar salad was basic and the pizza was average. For such a small menu i was hoping that it would have been better quality and flavor. We will try other restaurants before we will return."

  • "Mozza Mia is a fun spot and has really good food as well. Their house-made fresh mozzarella selections are the best in the Twin Cities and they have some really good bruschetta's as well (I recommend the bruschetta with burrata). The crust on the pizza is wonderful and full of flavor with some very good quality toppings. The Caesar salad is very tasty, however, not anything special. Their entrees are sometimes overlooked for their pizza but are all very good and the pasta's are wonderful with the pasta for the Papperadelle and Carbonara being made in house, however, the Carbonara would be spot on if they didn't add the onions or at least caramelized them, their crunchy bite is off-setting in this particular dish. Enjoyable!"

  • "We've been looking for a good wood-burning oven pizza restaurant and this was a great find! The food was amazing, fresh and authentic. It was so cool watching the cooks make fresh mozzarella one minute and fresh pasta the other. The service was great too."

  • "We chose this restaurant because they have a reel deal which is a pizza, gelato, bottle of wine, and two movie tickets. However, we weren't able to taste the wine first, and when we wanted to substitute another bottle, we were told it would be $5 off the regular price of a bottle of our choice. That added considerably to the price as their wine prices are quite high. We ended up not getting the deal and food we got was okay, but I would have gone to Pizzeria Lola or another Edina area restaurant instead. Pizza was okay, but not the best I've ever had. Service was mediocre as our server couldn't seem to answer any of the questions we had. Will make another choice when I am in the area."

  • "Mozza Mia was a nice place to come to meet friends. We got there relatively early in the dining hours, which is a good idea, as it filled to the brim by the time we left. The fresh mozzarella and pasta in the dishes was excellent and the service was prompt and attentive. Was a bit pricy for my tastes, but was appropriate for the area. Will definitely be back on another occasion."

  • "I still haven't figured how to order here. The food is great but I always leave totally overloaded with carbs. The cheese is awesome, the bread is awesome...but then you add in a pasta dish and it feels like a coma is setting in. Next time I'll try the chicken dish and a salad and see where it goes."

  • "The food was very good. Enjoyed the very open restaurant in general, wasn't stuffy at all. Great for all ages. The only downside, our food took about 20-30 to get to our table. Seems like a pretty long wait seeing that it was't ctazy busy."
