Mozelle's Fresh Southern Bistrosuper choice!Fantastic first time! Great service and food. Very attentive staff. Was there for mothers day. We especially loved the touch of providing fleece blankets for diners outside as it was a little chilly. Definitely be back! It's a
new favorite!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Date Night...Even though I’ve lived in Winston-Salem for a long time, this my first visit to Mozelle's. We had heard wonderful things about the food and we were not disappointed!
I had the lamb chop with mint verde salsa; they were very willing to substitute the orzo for cheese grits to accommodate my gluten issue, which were wonderful. Plus the peas + prosciutto topped off a great dish.As recommended by the waitress, my wife had the gourmet meatloaf. It came out as two medallions wrapped in bacon served over cheese grits and spicy collards. She gave me a few bites and it was fantastic!
Definitely will be back and we just looked the outdoor seating. I would recommend making reservations in advance as they were very busy on Friday night.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMBest scallopsHad the Scallop starter as my meal, with the Meyer Lemon sauce. The couscous was amazing with pistachios and raisins. A lovely dish. Service was great, and not crowded, so quiet.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyable and DeliciousI always love going to Mozelle's. We had heard wonderful things about the food and were not disappointed!
As recommended by the waiter, I had the gourmet meatloaf. Came out as two medalions wrapped in bacon served over cheese grits and spicy collards. Fantastic! My wife had the Steak Diane and she said it was cooked perfectly (medium rare). The dessert did not disappoint either...peanut butter pie topped with homemade whipping cream.
They also have a nice beer and wine selection. We chose a Rioja from Spain. Very smooth and went great with both the meatloaf and steak.
Definitely will be back and may try the outdoor seating with some friends. I would recommend making reservations in advance!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food; enjoyableDelicious food; enjoyable outdoor dining; excellent service; attractive decor4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMHave loved Mozelle's sinceHave loved Mozelle's since it opened. The menu constantly changes (while keeping my favorite tomato pie on there) and is innovative and screams fresh! One of the best places in Winston-Salem and now that the weather is warm, their outdoor dining just makes the experience even more enjoyable. Thanks Mozelle's.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing. as always. I'veAmazing. as always. I've never had a bad experience. Staff is friendly and accommodating, and the food is fantastic.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodFood was awesome, as always. Recommend Lobster Sloppy Joes, Fried Pickles, Pork Ribeye, Fried Chicken and Meatloaf. Service was not as attentive as in the past, but maybe they were busier than usual. Also had some mistakes on the bill, so had to call back after we left and get that corrected. And were out of bread pudding, which we were hoping to order.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food - always.Outstanding food - always. One of the best spots in Winston-Salem.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMParty of four enjoyed marvelousParty of four enjoyed marvelous food and service! Highly recommend the menu. Seating location, tented porch, cold on this chilly April evening. Shaw/lap blankets, a nice touch. At earliest reservation booking time (5:00 pm), informed chef would be ready in 20 minutes. Perhaps advertise 5:15, if a regular occurrence? Restaurant totally filled by 6:30 pm on a Thursday. A local favorite indeed.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food as usual pairedGreat food as usual paired with some wonderful wine recommended by the waitress. Once again Mozelle's does not disappoint- nowhere else in the Winston Salem area will you find food like this- great meal!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSouthern comfort with a twistWe were visiting Winston-Salem to visit colleges with our daughter. We read some reviews on Trip Advisor about Mozelle's Southern Bistro and thought we would try it. Mozelle's lived up to all it's great reviews. The ambience and service were excellent and the food is Southern-style comfort food with a nouvelle cuisine twist! My daughter ordered the meatloaf wrapped in bacon with a tomato chutney and thoroughly enjoyed it-she did not ask for ketchup! My husband had the shrimp and grits-large shrimp and the grits were rich and cheesy with a hint of sherry, we think. The Korean short ribs were my selection. The chef had used a delicious marinade and the meat was tender and well grilled. And the kale is sensational!4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorite bistroOne of our favorite bistro type restaurants, always great friendly service, food is consistently very good.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was amazing but locationFood was amazing but location is too small. They should consider expanding or relocating!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous Anniversary / DateFabulous Anniversary / Date Night dining destination! Cozy, intimate setting. Creative menu choices seasoned to perfection.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMMozelle's was excellent.Mozelle's was excellent. The food was wonderful. I had the pork spring rolls as an appetizer and they were great. The pork was a little dry but the dipping sauce was outstanding. For my entree I had the Korean spare ribs. They were fantastic. The sticky rice was only so-so and they must have run out of bok choy b/c I had to substitute kale. The kale was ok, but the meal would have been better with the bok choy. The place is small and our waitress seemed a little overwhelmed, but no real complaints on service. It would have been great to eat outdoors, but it is small too and fills up quickly. Overall I would definitely go back for the food and experience. Great place in downtown Winston!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious dinnerI had the warm winter chicken chop salad, And can't wait till I have it again! Warm kale, white beans, red onion, grilled chicken with a light olive oil dressing. Delicious! My husband had his personal favorite - the fried chicken. Wish Mozelles would start offering some kind of bread for those that would like it. Still a favorite restaurant, with or without bread.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMSouthern lunchLovely southern lunch - tomato cheese pie, cream succotash, and sweet tea with lemon!3/7/2013 12:00:00 AMSouthern hospitality and great foodAs always, the food was outstanding. Creative menu, always freshly prepared. My husband had the Korean short ribs, which he loved. Came with bok choy and he subbed the squash casserole (yum!) for the rice. I had the Southern spring rolls app for my entree. Perfect for a light meal, and again was something different and interesting.2/18/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband had the pork ribeye. My husband had the pork ribeye. It came with mashed potatoes and squash casserole. Said it was one of the best meals he had ever eaten.
Think it reminded him of his mother's cooking. We really do enjoy eating at Mozelle's. One of our favorite restaurants in Winston-Salem.2/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious meal!My husband and I had a wonderful meal at Mozelle's. We tried two items we had not tried before - Lobster Sloppy Joes and that evening's special of Fried Oysters over Polenta with Kale and Wild Mushrooms.
Both were fabulous! The lobster appetizer we had never tried mainly because of the name. But we saw it at another table, and it looked so lovely (not like "sloppy joes" at all), that we ordered it. Highly recommend it if you like lobster meat, bechamel sauce, and avocado.
The fried oysters were fresh, and generous in number. And the creamy polenta was the best.1/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favoritesI love the eggplant parmesan and my husband loves the fried chicken. Daughter had the pimento cheese burger with fried pickles. Wish I could attach a picture! Huge and very good!12/17/2012 12:00:00 AMMy husband had the pork chopMy husband had the pork chop which he dearly loves. It comes with mashed sweet potatoes, red cabbage, and Applebutter. All are perfect for a fall dinner. I had a salad with salmon. The chef at Mozelles prepares the salmon perfectly. Probably my favorite in Winston-Salem.11/26/2012 12:00:00 AM
