  • "I've been a Mozelle's regular since it opened. The food and service are always perfect, I never hesitate to take anybody there because I know the visit will be a success! They keep the old standbys and favorites while always introducing new specials, etc., which I think is the right approach for this restaurant."

  • "We have dined there many times., this time with out of town guests. The food is always great. This time we were eating our salads, when the entrees arrived. the restaurant was not full and there was no reason to rush us. Because there was not rally room on the table for all the plates, it was awkward and made us rush. Slow down, please!"

  • "We can always count in Mozelle's to deliver a delicious meal, and as usual we were not disappointed! We even took our kids (for the first time) and sat outside. We all enjoyed our food and left happy and looking forward to coming back soon!"

  • "This was my second trip to this upscale Southern cuisine restaurant downtown Winston-Salem. The reinvention of these Dixie favorites has gotten me hooked on this little gem. I'm planning my way on working my way through the entire menu, but thus far the flat iron steak with collards and the fried chicken (amazing grits) have got me looking forward to our next visit. The restaurant is small and intimate so be sure and make a reservation."

  • "Recommended by a colleague and was a delight for my family and my 12 and 13 year old children. The southern entrees were familiar dishes, with appealing presentation and amazing taste. Fabulous experience!"

  • "Great food, but uncomfortable inside temp. Really warm inside, when temps are too hot to eat outside.Feel sorry for the cook staff, they must be sweltering. We got the Oso Bucco special, which was delicious. Also the Fried Chicken which is a trademark, always delicious. My husband says Mozelle's needs to revamp their seating/building conditions, inside and out, and the place would be perfect. I tend to agree."

  • "We visited Mozelles for our anniversary. We had the salmon and the tomato pie. The salmon was cooked to perfection and was definitely the best salmon I've ever tasted! The bread pudding for dessert was incredible. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. Will definitely go back to this place."

  • "We have had dinner here 3 times in the past 2 months, and each time everyone at the table loved their selection. It is difficult to choose just 1 entree as the best: chicken with peach chutney, tomato pie, meatloaf medallions…………We would like to see the chocolate cream pie there permanently!"

  • "I always love the neighborhood feel and smallness of the place. The star is is the food. From the creative dishes, wonderful flavors and southern feel theres no other like it anywhere. Lunch is equally as good as dinner"

  • "A hidden gem in downtown Winston-Salem. The food is always creative, the service great and flavors blend like thanksgiving at mom's. A great place to people watch but the view from the counter of the kitchen ballet is the best."

  • "I had the scallop appetizer which had 2 nice size scallops, with a lovely little salad that was full of taste. Other side was a nice herb farro. Hubby had the nightly special of pork Oso Bucco. It was cooked nicely and fork tender. Just needed more sauce for more taste. Pea and corn salad light and tasty. Finished with vanilla key lime pie. Probably high light of meal."

  • "This place does not disappoint. The gourmet meatloaf with cheese grits and spicy greens was amazing. I also had a bite of my girlfriend's scallops and they were probably that best that I've ever tasted."

  • "Favorite spot for most any ocassion. Probably not the best place for kids, but kids who don't need a lot of space to move around or be active, would be fine. I'm sure there's a reason I should order something besides the tomoto pie, I just haven't figured that reason out yet."

  • "Went to enjoy a birthday and it was the right choice. Marvelous tomato pie, and solid entrees for the others. Flavorful, attractive presentation, and great service. Be warned that reservations are in order--there is limited seating and while we were there several groups were turned away. Mozelle's is one of our favorites for a casual dinner on the town."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at mozelle's! My wife's scallops were perfect, and my meatloaf was a unique and delicious surprise. Our service could have been better, especially since there weren't many people there, but the quality made up for it."

  • "In Winstem-Salem for Salute! wine festival, dined at Mozelle's that evening. What a lovely spot with food to match. We weren't that hungry so settled on the brie and salads. All were excellent, service was attentive and the atmosphere had a nice vibe. Definitely would recommend to anyone visiting WS."

  • "I've had dinner several times over the years and consistency is hard to find, but that is why I return. I've had many different items from their menu and have enjoyed each of them, not had a single visit where the staff let me down, excellent dining choice in my opinion."

  • "We went to Mozelle's for brunch. Each item we order was delivered in a timely fashion. The food was delicious and definitely better than the majority of breakfast spots in the Winston-Salem area. The service was prompt and expedited and the staff was friendly! The prices were much lower than what I expected for the quality of food which I ate. I recommend the Biscuits and Gravy but everything we had was good! "

  • "The restaurant was extremely busy and there was some trouble configuring tables so that we could sit despite having a reservation. Every one was very nice but they seem quite stressed trying to handle the crowd. Likewise our waiter was quite helpful and attentive, but appeared that he was juggling A LOT of tables. I had ordered a soup (my husband got salad) and somehow the soup was forgotten. I just didn't even have the heart to ask him for it because he was doing such a good job of keeping drinks filled and taking and filling orders from the other tables. The food was REALLY good. I'd definitely recommend the place and go back. "

  • "It was a busy weekend, and apparently we made a reservation after the best spots were taken, because our table was practically beneath the prep line heat lamps. It was so noisy from the kitchen, we couldn't hear the server introduce himself & he couldn't hear our response. Kind of comical: I think he asked, "How are you this evening?" & we replied, "What? It's kind of noisy" & he was like "Pardon?" However, they kindly reseated us outdoors when a table became available, & from there we had an enjoyable dining experience."

  • "I absolutely love Mozelle's! The fried chicken is amazing! The greens and mac & cheese are delicious! The ambience is very cute as well! But the best thing they.have.on the menu is the fried pickles! Love love love! Best restaurant in Winston Salem hands down!"

  • "Mozelles is one of the best restaurants in Winston-Salem. I enjoy it for brunch, lunch, and dinner. On a beautiful day or evening it is a pleasure to sit outside. The food is creative, fresh, and priced fairly. The service is always good and personable. I highly recommend Mozelles for any meal or occasion!! "

  • "Had reservations on Mother's Day afternoon. During our time there, restaurant was not at full capacity. There did seem to be ample staffing. After receiving our appetizer (fried pickles which were WAY too salty), we waited nearly 40 minutes for our food to arrive. 2 in our party had the black bean burger. Compared to the same dish at other restaurants, it was much too dry. I had the pimento cheese burger and it was pretty good, though the fries were also much too salty for my taste. At least twice our server came by and asked if we needed tea or water refills. We did, but each time it was forgotten until several minutes later. Not much about this experience to encourgage me to return."

  • "I came for brunch with my family. This was our second visit. We had a wonderful experience and very tasty meals. Special touches like special fitting patio umbrellas and fleece blankets to keep cool breezes at bay make for a really enjoyable experience. Great job Mozelle's. Keep up the great work!"

  • "What a gem! First time to this incredible place as I recently moved to WS from Atlanta. My daughter and I were celebrating my birthday with dinner here. I ordered the Brie with jam for an appetizer. It was fantastic - great combo and served with little crustinis. Goat cheese salad was delicious, and vegetable plate for entree. My chosen veggies were mac and cheese, green beans and Brussels sprouts slaw. Mac and cheese could be the best I have ever tasted. My daughter ordered the filet over mashed potatoes. She was thinking fish when she ordered the filet, so we asked them for a salmon entree and boxed up the filet. She loved the salmon. Our server made our night (as did the exceptional food). Expert and attention to detail. What a delight!"

  • "As the title indicates, this was my first visit to Mozelle's. My mother, my daughter , & I went to lunch for an early Mom's Day celebration. The food was great, the wine list was decent, & the ambiance was lively but not overwhelming. Overall, a very nice experience, we will be back. The only less-than-pleasing aspect of the meal was the service. Our server was, well, flat. She never smiled and seemed somewhat disinterested. She was not rude or neglectful, just kind of blah. But then again, we all have off days. Like I said, we will definitely be back!"
