Mozaic RestaurantCelebrating a birthday at MozaicI recently dined at Mosaic for my birthday with my girlfriend. It was easy getting the reservations online and when we ran late we called ahead and they were very accommodating of our change. I had mussels for an appetizer, they were served in a sauce that made the dish incredibly tasty. My girlfriend had the sea bass special and the dish and presentation were great. I had the duck breast which quite frankly was one of the best cooked ducks I have ever had. We washed it down with a bottle of Hook and Ladder wine (delicious). The service was terrific with them being a step ahead as a good restaurant should be. Over all a fantastic night out with good tasty food and prompt and courteous service. I would recommend Mozaic for a special night.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThought food and service wasThought food and service was outstanding; however, the wine list is inadequate for a restaurant of this overall quality. We found little that was familiar and our selection, based in part on server's recommendation, was mediocre.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFine DiningFrom the deliciouos to the gorgeous to the sublime, Chef Dylan at Mozaic has it all down perfectly. Unimpeachable ingredients combined in the most creative manner and presented beautifully by a wait staff who want you to have a great time. A treasure we must keep for Sarasota. This is fine dining. Thanks for everything.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMI highly recommend this restaurant.I highly recommend this restaurant. Always interesting flavors and nice presentation.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat food service so-soI really love the food here. But this last visit... We had a noon reservation for brunch on Easter . we arrived on time and the restraunant was not crowded. We were given the table next to the bar in the room with the bar. When I asked about a different table, We were offered the adjoining table Our waitress could not explain the items on the me.u and service was average at best. The food from the kitchen was fantastic as always. But for 39 a person for a 3 course brunch, I expected more from the front of the house. And yea I have eaten here before, multiple times., ans never had this experience before.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMA Large Adult Family ChoiceIn a city abounding with excellent restaurants, Mozaic is a standout. Noteworthy are the enticing vegetable presentations accompanying the appealing entrees.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was totally innovativeFood was totally innovative and delicious. Excellent use of spices and no extra salt at our request. Server very helpful - gave us options and let us taste wine so we could pick what pleased us. Great experience. Wish it were in NYC.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous - spa for the tasteFabulous - spa for the taste buds! We have never had a bad meal.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways enjoy dining here.Found the wine list to be a little expensive mostly $40 and up.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA Find for a LocalWait staff was great (there were on Wednesday evening too). We sat upstairs and liked that seating a lot better than downstairs where it was noisier, the piped in music loud where we were. The asparagus soup was just excellent. Scallops perfect.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch is only available onLunch is only available on one Saturday a month when they do a three course lunch with wine pairings. The food and presentation is excellent, the wine selections right on. Priced at 29.95PP it is a a great value.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMHubby's first food & wine pairingMoZaic is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Sarasota. I've been many, many times and the experience is always excellent. Saturday's food and wine wine pairing was no exception. We experienced a serious delay travelling by interstate and called to inform the staff (knowing these pairings begin promptly). We were told no problem, relax, we'll have your reserved table ready. And they did. It was, once again, a true epicurean delight! It was my husband's first lunch food and wine pairing and he was a bit skeptical ... at first! He commented several times near the end and later in the evening that it was fun (he's a foodie), a great value and a good experience! By all means, go to MoZaic ... you will not be disappointed!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMConveniently located, the restaurantConveniently located, the restaurant is striving to please, Eg. the heated plates, decor and great service. Will I eat there again- an emphatic yes.My wife ordered the couscous dish- she is vegetarian & liked it very much. I had the diver scallops, very good too.
There is a choice for veggie lovers.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWell prepared food, includingWell prepared food, including the complementary amuse bouche and petite chocolate at the end. Our party of 4 all enjoyed their meal3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe ate in the upstairs diningWe ate in the upstairs dining room which made for good conversation. Enjoyed the funky decor--it fit the unique menu. We enjoyed all our menu choices and thought the various sauces were excellent.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMI wrote after my first visitI wrote after my first visit that this may be the best fine dining restaurant in Sarasota and I was even more impressed by this visit.
Chef Dylan is an innovative and creative chef and the new seasonal menu substantiates my thoughts. Every section of the menu has a twist that may be found on the Mediterranean or San Francisco, but certainly not often in Florida. Unique spice combinations, and the interesting mix of fresh ingredients just made my mouth tingle.
The servers work in teams and are knowledgable of the preparation and just as smart about the wines. Good for you Chef and good for your staff!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderfully delicious foodWonderfully delicious food so nicely seasoned. Served well in a street front setting. Downtown Sarasota has so many good places to eat but put this one on your list.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service, cool downtownGreat service, cool downtown spot made for a memorable evening. Ask for Mike the waiter.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI had my annivesary dinnerI had my annivesary dinner here at the Mozaic, and I was quite disappointed in the service, it was the slowest i have ever had. I give compliments to there the menu, it was fabulous. The cuisine and wine at the Mozaic was the definatley the highlight of my expierence..3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMOur server was very accommodating,Our server was very accommodating, pleasant and food knowledgeable. Three of us shared a plate of succulent, plump & delicious mussels. Mid appetizer, our server asked if we wanted more bread to mop up the sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed my arugula salad, very crisp and lightly dressed accompanied by the gnocchi appetizer as my entrée. The two other diners had what they said was the best prepared grouper in a long time. Presentation of all pates was beautiful and we all wondered how the restaurant managed to serve such perfectly cooked asparagus. Mozaic is colorful but understated and the perfect place for a refined, well prepared meal.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional Second visit inExceptional Second visit in three week period.
