A little red cabin in the woods with amazing food, friendly servers, a great jukebox in a serene setting. Driving up during the colder months to a little house with a fire going with great food serves to warm the heart as well as the belly. I love it so much I don't want to share it but I shall not be so selfish. We always look forward to coming to the Mountain House. Always. <3

Our server WADE was excellent, attentive, patient, explained the menu and specials to our complete satisfaction and let us have our space but came around just enough to make sure everything was ok. It's a wonderful drive through the redwoods to the restaurant. They have inviting bar and usually have a fire in the fireplace. The bar has more of the feel of a neighborhood pub with local families visiting with friends. The food is excellent and the specials are always include unique game and fish dishes. I ordered 1 of the specials, salmon with gnocchi, and it tasted phenomenal. My friend, who is a choosy eater, was impressed with the food & ambiance. We both felt like we were sitting in a tree house among the redwoods, a very cool feeling coming from the bustling, paved city of San Francisco. I highly recommend trying their lemondrops, also amazing & chilled just right with fresh lemon. This place gets the highest rating in my book!
