A word from Mountain Branch Grille & Pub
One of the best restaurants in Maryland is located just two miles from I-95 exit 74 at Mountain Branch Golf Course - 20 minutes from Baltimore.
Constructed out of three acres of Oregon’s finest Douglas Fir, the historic-looking timber-pegged post and beam structure has high ceilings, multilevel architecture and a magnificent view. The Grille & Pub at Mountain Branch is a favorite for relaxing after a round of golf and is an ever-popular destination for lunch, dinner and late night. Spacious patios afford dining al fresco when the weather is mild. And when winter winds are blowing, a large fireplace keeps the inside warm and cozy. The American-classic menu offers a diverse mix of tastes, including soups, salads, and sandwiches as well as fresh fish, crab cakes and Angus beef. Our chefs take pride in keeping the offerings creative and interesting - taking full advantage of fresh seasonal ingredients.

We come to Mountain Branch for special occasions, seasonal parties that they offer, and just everyday dining and we have never been disappointed. It's not often you find a restaurant that can fill such a large bill but this place does. My friend and I just happen to be there for restaurant week and the selection was subperb and the food was excellent as was the wine that was paired with the meal.

We usually dine here a few times during the summer months when it is pleasant enough to sit out on the patio and enjoy the nice weather and fabulous view. Last Friday night they had live music so we asked to sit as far away as possible so that we could converse and hear one another. Of course, that put us in the sun! And the musicians had competition from the piped in music coming through the speakers on the wall. (Why don't they just have the musicians set up across the lawn where they won't overpower the dinner conversations???) Anyway, I had the pork belly special which was excellent. My wife ordered a chicken and pasta dish that was tasteless. All said, not our best dining experience, but at least the weather and view were spectacular!

My husband and I went here for dinner. We were first timers. My only issue was that it took a few minutes for a hostess to come & seat us. She was very nice and asked us if we wanted to sit inside or outside. SO GLAD WE CHOSE OUTSIDE!!! The golf course is BEAUTIFUL!!! Very scenic view for our dinner. They should do something to control the big situation and there was some lanterns that never turned on, but there was plenty of light. It's also a great wedding venue. We're looking for a place for our 10 yr vow renewal... I think we found it, if the price is right.

Steaks were excellent and cooked perfectly. Our server was fine and attentive. The menu has changed since the last time we were there. I totally understand the need to increase prices and think that I received good value for the cost. Vegetables are now a la carte and the house salad is no longer half price with an entre. We enjoy Mt. Branch about 3 times a year. We live at least 40 minutes away. We will continue to dine there even with the new menu because we are getting value. I am concerned about how other patrons are reacting. This was a Sunday evening and there were very few patrons except for a 20+ Birthday Party Group. I hope the establishment continues to produce great food and their patrons appreciate the quality cuisine.

Our party of 4 had evening dinner on the terrace. The weather was great; the food and service was excellent. Soups, salads and entrees were all delicious. Our waiter Chance was very knowledgeable, personable and attentive - great! I am very picky about soft crabs but was not disappointed with the entree special - delicious! The bread pudding dessert was the best I've had. We will be back!

I made my reservation early but then I had to expand it twice. They were able to accommodate the changes and were right on time with my table. Outstanding! I was unable to change my reservation online but had no issues calling into the restaurant. We went for the buffet style brunch and the food was terrific. Too many choices to try them all but everything I had was delicious and there were nothing but empty plates at my table. You might not think about the service at a buffet but ours was excellent. The staff inconspicuously cleared plates, brought drinks and kept our meal going. The perfect balance between being there and not being there which for a special event brunch is exactly what I was looking for.

We have visited Mountain Branch several times in the past year. The food seemed to have slipped a little while the prices went up. Perhaps it is a matter of preference and they just didn't strike what we would like. Additionally as the food slipped the prices seem to have jumped quite a bit. Still, overall good.

Went for the Sunday brunch based on good reviews, but although the main dining area had plenty of empty tables, for some reason we were seated in a side room where NO ONE ELSE was seated. One of the best parts of dining out for us is "people watching" but that's hard to do when there are NO OTHER PEOPLE to watch! The brunch buffet consisted of approximately 10-15 large chafing dishes with various hot food items. It would have been very helpful to have signs identifying what was in each chafing dish so you didn't have to open each to see what was inside. Buffet is set up in what would normally be the walkway from front desk to the dining area. Was fairly cramped considering the traffic for the buffet. Should put buffet in big empty room.

We made a reservation, but asked when we arrived to be seated outside on the porch (they don't take reservations for outside-lst come first served) We have had dinner there before and the waiter will give you the pub menu also to choose from if you ask for it. Although part of our party ordered from the pub menu, the others chose to order from the dinner menu. Several seafood dishes were offered and we all ordered a different item. All the meals were delicious, but you don't receive sides, only the vegetable that the meat sits atop, so if you order a salad or soup before, its get a little pricey. Really a nice place to relax and enjoy a night out and sitting on the porch in nice weather looking over the golf course is an extra plus.

We were very disappointed in the new menu. They took away a lot of popular dishes and also the burger/sandwiches. Sometimes you don't want to eat a big dinner but now you don't have the option. All the dinners just come with stewed tomatoes and no starch. If you want a starch it is $6 dollars extra. I think they are going to turn a lot if people away. It seemed a lot of patrons were unhappy with menu. Food still good but new menu options aren't good for a night out for dinner. Esp miss the Cajun chix pasta. Staff seems upset about menu also.

We celebrated our anniversary at Mountain Branch and weren't disappointed. The service, food and atmosphere were very nice. Unfortunately, the music had to be brought in off the terrace, so a little loud, but that was Mother Nature's fault, not the restaurant's. Very nice evening!

We enjoyed delicious soups and a rockfish sandwich on the outdoor terrace overlooking th golf course. Because we like variety, we each ordered a bowl of soup and split the rockfish sandwich. When the bill arrived, we were surprised to see a split plate fee of $5 added to the ill. We were told that it is mentioned on the bottom of the menu but we didn't see it. We asked that the fee be waived since the cost of our soups was at least as much as a second entree. The manager agreed to waive it. And we suggested to our waitress that she remind diners of the fee if they order something to split. So all ended well!

I was looking for a nice place to take my wife for her birthday dinner, and we went to Mountain Branch Grille on a co-worker's recommendation. It was fabulous in an 'everything is right', understated way. Dining room, food, waitress, view from the window - all perfect. It was one of those 'it all works' evenings -- the calamari app was delightful, the Caesar salads were yummy, and the entrees - NY strip steak and veal - were delectable. The waitress's recommended wine pairing was ... well, perfect too. Both my wife and I are eager to show this place off to our foodie friends as soon as possible!

Our experience was okay, although I don't feel that they catered to children what so ever. We reserved a table for early dinner, 5:30. Our host forgot to give us a kids menu, so I was searching for food to feed them. I was later informed by our waitress that they did actually have a kids menu. Food was excellent. The noise level was loud, great for drowning out children.

Upon being seated our waitress asked if my guest and I wanted the prime rib special. I advised her that my friend was, but I wasn't. She brought me a dinner menu which I perused and did not see anything that interested me. I asked for the lunch menu and she replied that they only served the dinner menu after 6:00p.m. I was a little disappointed in that I had called the restaurant just an hour earlier and asked if I wasn't interested in the prime rib special could I order from the lunch or dinner menu. The hostess said that I could order from EITHER the dinner or lunch menu, both were available. So, I settled for some soup.

Big mistake by going on a Sunday for lunch. I didn't know they were having a Sunday brunch buffet in the dining room. During the brunch hours, if you wanted to sit in the dining room, you had to have the brunch. It was very crowded and loud. Because my friend and I wanted a long, quiet and leisurely lunch, we had to sit in the bar which was very cold and the service was extremely slow. It's usually a very nice place. Just don't do lunch there on a Sunday unless you're looking for a brunch buffet.

This is a favorite place for my friends and I to meet and eat. Ordered the fried oyster lunch menu which really was almost perfection. The oysters were large, fresh and sweet and lightly coated which did not detract from their flavor. The french fries were freshly made and not frozen and were fantastic. The only disappointment was the cream of crab soup. The base was delicious and if it were a little thinner, it would have been superb. But there was no crab in the soup!. Normally there are large chunks of crab meat with a spoonful floated on top. Not this time. If the restaurant is going to offer cream of crab, make sure there is crab in the soup.

My girl and I had a wonderful, romantic dinner at Mountain Branch. Since Valentine's Day was snowed out we opted to go here on Friday, February 21st. They were serving the regular menu in addition to the Baltimore County Restaurant week menu. We selected some options from the Restaurant Week menu on the recommendation of our waitress, Anna. Our excellent entrees were paired with an outstanding wine and the deserts were fantastic as well! Anna was the perfect waitress. Her timing and delivery of the meal was amazing and she made us feel right at home. Hopefully, you will get Anna as you server as well. We will be dining at Mountain Branch over and over again. Thank you.
