A word from Mountain Branch Grille & Pub
One of the best restaurants in Maryland is located just two miles from I-95 exit 74 at Mountain Branch Golf Course - 20 minutes from Baltimore.
Constructed out of three acres of Oregon’s finest Douglas Fir, the historic-looking timber-pegged post and beam structure has high ceilings, multilevel architecture and a magnificent view. The Grille & Pub at Mountain Branch is a favorite for relaxing after a round of golf and is an ever-popular destination for lunch, dinner and late night. Spacious patios afford dining al fresco when the weather is mild. And when winter winds are blowing, a large fireplace keeps the inside warm and cozy. The American-classic menu offers a diverse mix of tastes, including soups, salads, and sandwiches as well as fresh fish, crab cakes and Angus beef. Our chefs take pride in keeping the offerings creative and interesting - taking full advantage of fresh seasonal ingredients.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Our experience was okay, although I don't feel that they catered to children what so ever. We reserved a table for early dinner, 5:30. Our host forgot to give us a kids menu, so I was searching for food to feed them. I was later informed by our waitress that they did actually have a kids menu. Food was excellent. The noise level was loud, great for drowning out children."

  • "We dined with another couple. Three had seafood entrees (salmon, crab cakes, scallops) and one had the ribeye, along with the SoCo shrimp and crab dip appetizers. All appetizers and entrees were superb in both presentation and taste. And you cannot beat the view!"

  • "Mountain Branch Pub and Grill is definitely a hidden gem in the Bel Air area for anyone desiring a romantic and scenic location. The chef here is talented without question, and the staff went of their way to ensure we had a very memorable dining experience. We will definitely be dining here again."

  • "Upon being seated our waitress asked if my guest and I wanted the prime rib special. I advised her that my friend was, but I wasn't. She brought me a dinner menu which I perused and did not see anything that interested me. I asked for the lunch menu and she replied that they only served the dinner menu after 6:00p.m. I was a little disappointed in that I had called the restaurant just an hour earlier and asked if I wasn't interested in the prime rib special could I order from the lunch or dinner menu. The hostess said that I could order from EITHER the dinner or lunch menu, both were available. So, I settled for some soup."

  • "We love going to Mountain Branch's Sunday Brunch. It's great for larger parties (call ahead!) as well as small groups. Their service is great and we love the view. I'm looking forward to it being warm enough to eat on the terrace."

  • "My wife and I are longtime diners at Mountain branch. We happened in there on Prime Rib night. Soup, three salads, baked potatoes, veggies, and dessert along with prime rib, for $ 24.95, all you can eat. This was all top quality stuff, and one heck of a value."

  • "Service was non-existent. Normally we have had good service and pleasant wait staff but not yesterday. Did they forget to train the server?"

  • "My girl and I had a wonderful, romantic dinner at Mountain Branch. Since Valentine's Day was snowed out we opted to go here on Friday, February 21st. They were serving the regular menu in addition to the Baltimore County Restaurant week menu. We selected some options from the Restaurant Week menu on the recommendation of our waitress, Anna. Our excellent entrees were paired with an outstanding wine and the deserts were fantastic as well! Anna was the perfect waitress. Her timing and delivery of the meal was amazing and she made us feel right at home. Hopefully, you will get Anna as you server as well. We will be dining at Mountain Branch over and over again. Thank you."

  • "Big mistake by going on a Sunday for lunch. I didn't know they were having a Sunday brunch buffet in the dining room. During the brunch hours, if you wanted to sit in the dining room, you had to have the brunch. It was very crowded and loud. Because my friend and I wanted a long, quiet and leisurely lunch, we had to sit in the bar which was very cold and the service was extremely slow. It's usually a very nice place. Just don't do lunch there on a Sunday unless you're looking for a brunch buffet."

  • "This is a favorite place for my friends and I to meet and eat. Ordered the fried oyster lunch menu which really was almost perfection. The oysters were large, fresh and sweet and lightly coated which did not detract from their flavor. The french fries were freshly made and not frozen and were fantastic. The only disappointment was the cream of crab soup. The base was delicious and if it were a little thinner, it would have been superb. But there was no crab in the soup!. Normally there are large chunks of crab meat with a spoonful floated on top. Not this time. If the restaurant is going to offer cream of crab, make sure there is crab in the soup."

  • "My daughter and I had the best evening. We ended up bringing my 3 year old grandson. Our waitress was so receptive to his being there. She got his food ordered quickly and did not seem at all put off with his presence. Our meals were delicious and we both felt that we had the opportunity to talk and actually relax. I will definately be back."

  • "Not our first time here, so it won't be our last. One of the nicer features of this restaurant is the view; however, we were seated at a table upstairs up near the waiters' station, and our only view was of the large party next to us with the view. Our waitress was, at best, adequate and seemed somewhat dismissive. Plenty of handicap parking, but when we're seated upstairs where the elevator is nearly blocked with unused tables it becomes a bit of a moot point."

  • "Very relaxed atmosphere. Waitress was very attentive and friendly. Food was phenomenal according to everyone in my party. Drinks were a little pricey, but otherwise it was a very enjoyable dinner all around. Would highly recommend to anyone."

  • "I've been here a couple times now, but only once for dinner. I would say that dinner was pretty good, but I definitely love the brunch. They do specials most nights of the week too, so you can catch good things during the week. Prime Rib buffet? Sounds delicious."

  • "we sat for over 25 min. When we mentioned this to a staff member, the servers huddled by the stairs. Finally Margaret came to the table apologized and stated because we already had drinks they assumed the table was being worked. Very disappointed that this assumption is practiced in a facility that has a pub."

  • "Celebrated my mothers birthday here and I had only been once but I wanted to try their dinner cuisine as I had attended a lunch here previously. The food was terrific! I wasn't that hungry so I only had a Cesar salad, which was good minus the romain hearts. My mother had the lamb lollipop as a appetizer and salmon with green beans for her entree. She was very pleased. We ended the meal with their signature bread pudding, which was delicious! I'll be back again!"

  • "An enjoyable dinner on Friday night with two of my childhood friends! Having gone to Mountain Branch on several occasions for lunch thought it would be the ideal place for dinner. I had the broiled crab cakes with green beans, crab cakes were delicious but the green beans should have been cooked another couple of minutes.. I like my lettuce crisp not my green beans! Enjoyed two glass of the house chardonnay during dinner, should have thought to ask for the Kendall Jackson! Our service was great, our waitress returned many times to check on us & ask if we needed dessert, drinks etc.... Highly recommend Mountain Branch, looking forward to spring & having lunch by the windows overlooking the patio & golf course!"

  • "First time having lunch here and it was nice. The food was good. Salad was nice and cream of crab was ok. It lacked the "jumbo lump crab meat" as advertised but the flavor was ok. I've had better, and I've had worse. Waiter seemed a little too aloof and I felt a little out of place. It is a fine restaurant, but he seemed a little too snooty. I would go back more if they had more lunch specials."

  • "We went there for brunch. The food was hot and fresh. Enjoyed the atmosphere and service was fine until a group came in, then our table was forgotten. People waiting for omelets cluttered the buffet line so you had to ask them to move. Placing the omelet table some where else would be logical."

  • "We went to Mountain Branch Grille for Restaurant Week. The food was excellent. An appetizer of fried oysters and an entree of Diver Scallops could not possibly be surpassed. The meal was ended with the tastiest cheesecake that I have ever had. It was like an Italian spumoni, so full of dried fruits and nuts. I would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Our party for brunch was a total of six and our service was great the whole time, the food was great no complaints. The only thing that we didn't like was where they put our table, it seemed like an after thought even though i made reservations well in advance. They put tables together in the middle of the aisle-way so we were in the way of other tables."

  • "I was dinning with a friend , found the service prompt , pleasant and unrushed. My companion and I chose to order different courses off the " Restaurant Week" menu and to share. We were delighted to see the Mountain Branch menu offered items off their regular menu(some places do not). Each course was delicious and delivered promptly so that hot items were hot and cold were still chilled. I would, and have recommended Mountain Branch to friends."

Our waitress was wonderful, very friendly but not intrusive. The view is absolutely beautiful, inside the restaurant is cozy and welcoming. Can't wait to go back."

  • "We took out of town family here for a family lunch over the holidays. The hostess seated all ten of us immanently and everyone enjoyed the meal. Our waiter handled most of the orders just perfectly. The only disappointment, they forgot the salmon on my wife's salad. Other than that all was perfect. We all had a good time and enjoyed our meals. We will be back."

  • "We have been trying Mountain Branch off & on for 10 years.....never very good, except for the summertime view. Four of our party of 6 were reluctant to go, but decided to take a chance once again and it was outstanding! Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal. Steaks were cooked to order, salmon was moist, veggies were great and the sauces had a nice kick. Staff were friendly and communicative with possible wait time (but there was not) and never rushed us to or from our table. We ended up in the bar because it was such a pleasant experience. Nice roaring fire for a cold icy night too. Kudos to the new chef or manager........glad to see it all finally coming together. We will be back."
