A word from Mountain Branch Grille & Pub
One of the best restaurants in Maryland is located just two miles from I-95 exit 74 at Mountain Branch Golf Course - 20 minutes from Baltimore.
Constructed out of three acres of Oregon’s finest Douglas Fir, the historic-looking timber-pegged post and beam structure has high ceilings, multilevel architecture and a magnificent view. The Grille & Pub at Mountain Branch is a favorite for relaxing after a round of golf and is an ever-popular destination for lunch, dinner and late night. Spacious patios afford dining al fresco when the weather is mild. And when winter winds are blowing, a large fireplace keeps the inside warm and cozy. The American-classic menu offers a diverse mix of tastes, including soups, salads, and sandwiches as well as fresh fish, crab cakes and Angus beef. Our chefs take pride in keeping the offerings creative and interesting - taking full advantage of fresh seasonal ingredients.

My family has been visiting mountain branch for years for special occasions and it has never disappointed. This past weekend we took two friends with us and were very disappointed. It took our waiter coming by 2 times just to take a drink order. Our salads then managed to beat our wine to the table. Much, much later our dinners finally came out and all four were cold. Also keep in mind here you have to ask for the bread, out waiter never mentioned that and we sat there waiting for our meal for a very hungry hour and a half.

Lovely having champagne on our table to celebrate our friends' engagement! Our friend did not receive the dinner special she ordered, but the mistake was corrected. Our steaks were overcooked but still had good flavor. Not the best meal we have had there but will still go back!

My friend and I needed a halfway point to have a quiet, private discussion about something important to both of us. We used Google Maps and Tripadvisor to screen for restaurants that seemed to meet the criteria. We weren't even concerned much about the food. We were SO lucky to find Mountain Branch Grille! The scenery was spectacular, especially with the autumn colors. The drinks were good and reasonably priced. And the food was absolutely scrumptious. We're hoping to make this a regular spot to meet for a "just for fun" lunch every once in a while.

Dining at the Mountain Branch grill was like stepping into a quiet mountain lodge. It was just so cozy and the view was beautiful- over looking rolling hills I didn't even know you could find this close to Baltimore. The wine list was awesome- it was a Wednesday, so we got a bottle of wine for $15- a fantastic deal. The food was really good, my boyfriend order the wrong things and wasn't entirely pleased with his mean, but I was very happy with mine! I would highly highly recommend to anyone looking to get away from the craziness of Baltimore.

I've been to this restaurant multiple times and it never fails to impress me with the originality of it's menu items and the playing. They do an awesome job on seafood entrees, e.g. sesame coated salmon cooked perfectly and served over sliced cucumber. Food is priced reasonably for the quality of the dishes. Down home feel and pricing with upscale dishes.

Four of us had lunch recently and everyone's lunch was exceptional. We had fish tacos, salmon on salad and the Reuben sandwich. The entire menu looks great, very up to date. The service was also excellent. Of course it was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the view from our window seat. We will be back.

The service was very attentive & personable. You have a choice of the brunch for $19.95 or adding unlimited mimosas or bloody marys for @24.95. If you get the bloody marys and ask for hot, be careful, there is a scorpion hot sauce that will send you to the moon. They have an omelet chef & the basic breakfast: scrambled eggs, pancakes, french toast, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, tater tots, bagels, lox, and assorted muffins and honey buns. They had salmon with a mustard sauce and beef tips in a gravy (both very good). For dessert, if you make it that far, they had bread pudding, chocolate cake, and many goodies. We took our drinks outside to enjoy the view of the golf course. Call ahead to make reservations, ask for a window table.

This restaurant recently changed their menu and from my humble opinion, not for the best. They used to have out of this world cream of crab soup but replaced it with "Corn & Crab Chowder" which is nothing more than a glorified potato soup. They also took what once was a fantastic salmon dish and replaced it with a mediocre dish. So disappointing. This used to be one of our favorite places, not so much any longer!

It was a beautiful September Saturday so we asked to sit outside overlooking the golf course. A great view but they have wedding there starting at 4 pm and the BASS from the tent that was no more than a 200 ft from the deck was a bit much. Food was right on the money and much enjoyed but I would ask about the wedding situation before planning to eat outside.

I ordered the shrimp salad sandwich. When it came, I noticed chunks of hard boiled egg were in the salad. I do not eat egg since it makes me ill. Nothing was on the menu to indicate the salad contained egg. I sat there picking it out and trying to wipe the shrimp on the bread to rid it of the egg. Since I was dining with a large number of people, I did not wish to cause a problem by sending it back but the egg should be noted on the menu.

We had heard from a neighbor how wonderful the Mountain Branch Grille was but had never had the opportunity to visit. This past weekend we did and we were amazed with the restaurant, the scenic view and the wonderful food. Our party of four experienced excellent service and the food we could not rave about enough. From the appetizer to the main course and of course dessert we were not disappointed. The staff was excellent and even with several large groups in the dining room the service level did not change. I will recommend Mountain Branch to family and friends.

we totally enjoyed our experience. The food and service was wonderful. The noise level was high which made conversation difficult.I am a non-alcholic drinker and would prefer a quality beer to go with such a fine meal. Odouls is all you have to offer in non alcoholic. Becks or St. Pauli girl would have been nice. Odouls is awful beer. You should cater more towards non-alcoholic. Yhanks

We usually dine here a few times during the summer months when it is pleasant enough to sit out on the patio and enjoy the nice weather and fabulous view. Last Friday night they had live music so we asked to sit as far away as possible so that we could converse and hear one another. Of course, that put us in the sun! And the musicians had competition from the piped in music coming through the speakers on the wall. (Why don't they just have the musicians set up across the lawn where they won't overpower the dinner conversations???) Anyway, I had the pork belly special which was excellent. My wife ordered a chicken and pasta dish that was tasteless. All said, not our best dining experience, but at least the weather and view were spectacular!

My husband and I went here for dinner. We were first timers. My only issue was that it took a few minutes for a hostess to come & seat us. She was very nice and asked us if we wanted to sit inside or outside. SO GLAD WE CHOSE OUTSIDE!!! The golf course is BEAUTIFUL!!! Very scenic view for our dinner. They should do something to control the big situation and there was some lanterns that never turned on, but there was plenty of light. It's also a great wedding venue. We're looking for a place for our 10 yr vow renewal... I think we found it, if the price is right.

Steaks were excellent and cooked perfectly. Our server was fine and attentive. The menu has changed since the last time we were there. I totally understand the need to increase prices and think that I received good value for the cost. Vegetables are now a la carte and the house salad is no longer half price with an entre. We enjoy Mt. Branch about 3 times a year. We live at least 40 minutes away. We will continue to dine there even with the new menu because we are getting value. I am concerned about how other patrons are reacting. This was a Sunday evening and there were very few patrons except for a 20+ Birthday Party Group. I hope the establishment continues to produce great food and their patrons appreciate the quality cuisine.

I made my reservation early but then I had to expand it twice. They were able to accommodate the changes and were right on time with my table. Outstanding! I was unable to change my reservation online but had no issues calling into the restaurant. We went for the buffet style brunch and the food was terrific. Too many choices to try them all but everything I had was delicious and there were nothing but empty plates at my table. You might not think about the service at a buffet but ours was excellent. The staff inconspicuously cleared plates, brought drinks and kept our meal going. The perfect balance between being there and not being there which for a special event brunch is exactly what I was looking for.

We have visited Mountain Branch several times in the past year. The food seemed to have slipped a little while the prices went up. Went for the Sunday brunch based on good reviews, but although the main dining area had plenty of empty tables, for some reason we were seated in a side room where NO ONE ELSE was seated. One of the best parts of dining out for us is "people watching" but that's hard to do when there are NO OTHER PEOPLE to watch! The brunch buffet consisted of approximately 10-15 large chafing dishes with various hot food items. It would have been very helpful to have signs identifying what was in each chafing dish so you didn't have to open each to see what was inside. Buffet is set up in what would normally be the walkway from front desk to the dining area. Was fairly cramped considering the traffic for the buffet. Should put buffet in big empty room.

We made a reservation, but asked when we arrived to be seated outside on the porch (they don't take reservations for outside-lst come first served) We have had dinner there before and the waiter will give you the pub menu also to choose from if you ask for it. Although part of our party ordered from the pub menu, the others chose to order from the dinner menu. Several seafood dishes were offered and we all ordered a different item. All the meals were delicious, but you don't receive sides, only the vegetable that the meat sits atop, so if you order a salad or soup before, its get a little pricey. Really a nice place to relax and enjoy a night out and sitting on the porch in nice weather looking over the golf course is an extra plus.

We were very disappointed in the new menu. They took away a lot of popular dishes and also the burger/sandwiches. Sometimes you don't want to eat a big dinner but now you don't have the option. All the dinners just come with stewed tomatoes and no starch. If you want a starch it is $6 dollars extra. I think they are going to turn a lot if people away. It seemed a lot of patrons were unhappy with menu. Food still good but new menu options aren't good for a night out for dinner. Esp miss the Cajun chix pasta. Staff seems upset about menu also.

We enjoyed delicious soups and a rockfish sandwich on the outdoor terrace overlooking th golf course. Because we like variety, we each ordered a bowl of soup and split the rockfish sandwich. When the bill arrived, we were surprised to see a split plate fee of $5 added to the ill. We were told that it is mentioned on the bottom of the menu but we didn't see it. We asked that the fee be waived since the cost of our soups was at least as much as a second entree. The manager agreed to waive it. And we suggested to our waitress that she remind diners of the fee if they order something to split. So all ended well!
