Mount Hill Taverngreat find!Recently moved to the Harrisburg area..found this restaurant by chance...very happy I did. Wonderful food and service.

The building itself is amazing, inside and out. The crab chowder was the best this Maryland girl had ever eaten. Scallops were prefect and the grain mustard really set it off. My husband had the steak and it was cooked to perfection. We even ordered dessert, which we normally dont do, just because we hated to walk away saying we hadnt tried every course they offer. The entre' menu is limited on choice but after seeing how amazing each dish was I came to appreciate the work that goes into making each dish some of the best food I have ever put in my mouth. I even informed the cook, who is a client of ours, that he can pay in rolls and crab soup...yes folks..its THAT good!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat placeI've driven by this place way too many times to count and always wanted to visit. I finally went this past Friday evening and had a great time. The prices are a little expensive compared to your run of the mill chains, but this place has a nice atmosphere and the food was great. We had the Flash Fried Calamari as an appetizer which came drizzled with a sweet chili sauce (which reminded me of Kikkoman's Thai Style Chili Sauce) and I had the Pan Seared Scallops as my entree and substituted asparagus for the kale as the vegetable. The waitress was also very knowledgeable about the history of the building and was very sociable. We enjoyed our lunch and will be back.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMMount Hill Tavern is a delight.The Mount Hill Tavern accommodated our lunch group of 13 by seating us in a separate room and seating was arranged so we could all comfortably converse across the tables to everyone. The food was excellent the service was amazing. Our server made us feel like we were her only customers, although I know that to be untrue. Everyone had a wonderful experience (even the lactose intolerant guy who had special instructions for every aspect of his order).4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat lunchtime cuisine!Yesterday I treated my Administrative Assistant to lunch at your restaurant. She had never been there before, but I have on several occasions. We both had a great time. The food, service, and atmosphere was perfect as usual. With that said, our dinner choice was outstanding in regards to quality. Desserts were also outstanding.
