We went recently to find a restaurant and outdoor area with tons of charm and eclectic ambiance. Our waiter was great, describing every dish which was important because the hand written menu, which changes daily, was full of unfamiliar ingredients. We ordered the flat ribs with mashed potatoes and sugar cured pork with mushroom sauce over grits. The flat ribs and mashed potatoes were nice, but the pork and grits were excellent, the sauce just the right touch. The wine list was extensive and the bar looked inviting for after dinner drinks. My lunch experience was MUCH different than dinner. The evening server was phenomenal and so attentive, however our server for lunch left much to be desired. Aside from her lack of enthusiasm or flair - the food was outstanding! Our meals were amazing, the wine list extensive and the service was perfect. We'll definitely be back and would recommend it as well. I'm a chef and very picky, but this was outstanding. The food was some of the best I've ever had, and I've travelled extensively. The service was great, as was the wine menu. I paid around $100 for two people, and it was honestly worth the money. The only problem I had was from the social club behind them. My date and I sat on the back porch which was enjoyable for the first half hour or so, then the club behind the restaurant became active. The loud music and noise from people entering and exiting the club was distracting and ruined the mood somewhat, however I still highly recommend this restaurant.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMHad always read very goodHad always read very good things about this restaurant. However, recent reviews had suggested the service tended to be rushed, and food undercooked. We did NOT experience either of these! The charcuterie was wonderful, as was my steak bavette. Service was attentive and thorough. Dessert was a disappointment--rather pedestrian--especially so given the delightful, inventive starter and entrees.

We were given a great table on the patio. We had an early reservation and even though we were the first table in the restaurant the hostess and server were ready. They knew we were celebrating a special occasion and that we had to keep a schedule. Our server was very knowledge about the daily changing menu and took the time to tell us just how special all the local products were. All the food was amazing including the house made chacuterie which arrived compliments of the chef to help us celebrate our special occasion. The bone in pork t-bone was fantastic. The only off-putting aspect of our visit was that we were told, as soon as we arrived, that the kitchen closed at 9:30; if the restaurant is trying to fill 9:15 reservations (like ours), the diner is bound to feel rushed, like a "squeezed-in" last bit of revenue for the night, even with a waiter as nice as Brendon. We don't usually go out to places with this kind of price range, but since we had a night out without the kids, we decided to go all out. The service was excellent, we were never waiting for anything and the server checked in on us in between the food/drinks. The food itself was very good. I've never had anything like it or heard of some it before, but I loved all of it.
