Booked an anniversary dinner for
my wife and I. I called ahead of the reservation to have a nice dessert waiting for her after the meal. They said that they will arrange a chocolate cake. After dinner, nothing was brought out. I didn't bring it up to the server as it would ruin the whole surprise. Pretty disappointed. Food was mediocre at best. I ordered the ling cod, and although the lobster sauce was pretty good, the dish lacked acidity which made the flavours flat. The artichokes were also tough. Wife ordered the beef dish which was a better choice."

booked for a lunch meeting. good
atmosphere and varied menu."

I think the food was
expectacularly prepared and the make your own, truly amazing! Highly recommended for food lovers!"

Well, I was there for dinner in
November and was shocked at how good the food was - but I've been there twice for lunch over the last 2 months and the food was "average". I'm not sure what happened..."
Dined on 6/4/2014
I had the lingcod and my husband
had the squid ink 'pasta'. We shared the gooseneck barnacles as an appy -incredible but delicious sauce overpowered the delicate sweetness of the barnacles. Both our dishes were a bit bland and could use some salt, especially on the fish. Presentation was excellent and overall very good food. Our server did not know which breweries their beer came from, which is very important when it comes to craft beer in Vancouver these days. Beer was reasonable priced though and the cocktails very tasty."

I regularly schedule business
lunches at the Mosaic at The Hyatt. It is very central and so very conveniently located in downtown Vancouver. It is a nice spacious casual-formal restaurant with very comfortable seats and tables, nice for longer lunches. It is located on the second floor (escalator or elevator available) and so has nice city and even some North Shore mountain views. The service is impeccable and the food is excellently prepared. There are lots of nice lunch food choices and the wines feature some very nice Canadian and international choices. I would highly recommend The Mosaic. "

A wonderful evening spent at
Mosaic. The food being the best dinning experience I have had for several years in Vancouver. Great menu with 'build your own' combinations and the two we selected, Lamb and long line caught BC Cod, were outstanding. The service and the setting, combined with a great view of the city, made the whole evening memorable. "

Great menu, with smaller, healthy
options but we chose from the menu choices that allowed for personal preference of protein, style of cooking, vegetables, sauces and carbohydrates. This worked out really well for one of vegan diners. Our female server was friendly, helpful, attentive and very professional. She helped us choose the best sauces and matches for our food and we weren't disappointed. Everything was delicious, from the freshly baked rolls to our main courses. For dessert we went with the chocolate cake - a speciality of the house. It was my birthday, so we ordered the whole cake - it was huge and a great price - just $20. It came with a candle, and our server and others came and sang for me. It was our first time: we'll be back."

it was a quiet night at the grill
and most of us ordered the Pemberton beef, side dishes of finger potatoes, mushrooms, grilled fennel, from the vast assortment of mix and match side. The beef, the salmon and the chicken were all delicious as were the sides. Of all the side ordered, the fingerling potatoes, seemed to be the favourite. The risotto was a little on the oily side. We all enjoyed monster slabs of chocolate cake and cups of cappuccino. The view and spacious layout during cocktails and dinner added to our comfort and the food was delicious."
Dined on 5/7/2014
Great idea of creating your own
dish. The complimentary scones are delicious and come in abundance! Good virgin cocktails and quiet place to catch up with your best friend. View of the burrard street, very nice setting. Would recommend."

Took my husband here for his
birthday dinner on a Friday evening. The bar side of the restaurant was hopping. I had requested a booth seat in a quiet corner of the restaurant. The food quantity was small but quite filling. Obviously if you go to a hotel restaurant, you pay for ambience and quality over quantity. All their wait staff were efficient. The best surprise came after our entrees when I asked for a dessert menu. Our waitress mentioned that we get a chocolate birthday cake on the house. The cake was a chocolate layered ganache cake enough to feed 8-10 people. It was delicious. If you mention it's your birthday...you can get a free cake. I gave our waitress a big tip. Will definitely be returning again."

I was surprised by the hidden
restaurant area to the left the bar. Our table was by the window overlooking the hustling downtown Burrard Street scene. It was interesting to see people coming and going from two storeys high over dinner. The food was tasty and the presentation was good. The hosts and hostesses were very friendly and made us feel special and welcomed. We had a very good experience and a totally satisfying feeling when we came out of Mosaic. Of course, I will recommend this restaurant to my friends."

Spacious, quiet enough to have
lunch meeting. Great service and fresh, tasty food. Fantastic lunch selection."
Dined on 4/24/2014
The new menu has some very
interesting pairings; however, the style is 'nouveau cuisine', which means that the food is plated beautifully but sparsely. All ingredients are locally sourced and organic. The wine list, we found was limited. Both food and wine are a bit pricey for our taste. I'd go there again for dessert though and if you've an appetite for chocolate, the chocolate cake is huge."
Dined on 4/22/2014
The overall experience was very
disappointing. The cost for the food offered was high. Each Mimosa we had at the beginning was $11. That is quite high in comparison to other brumches. Even the Pan Pacific. The Roast Meat was blue and tough. Very disappointing. The staff were friendly and attentive. Bacon and Pancakes were good. The smoked salmon was tired. Shrimp were good. Not a very big arrangement of Entree type dishes. Very rare beef and some ham. Our total charge was over $100. I doubt we would ever go back."
Dined on 4/20/2014
Pleasantly surprized to have a
special cake presented. Wonderful touch! Thank you for making this a memorable lunch."

Two of us visited this restaurant
one early evening. Service was great. Food was delicious. A better-than-average hotel restaurant."
Dined on 4/3/2014
I went to mosaic with friends for
lunch for the 1st time. I had read a couple of good reviews, but never been. It was really nice. The service was very good, attentive & professional. The menu was varied & the meals all delicious. Fish & chips was elegantly served & so tastey. A colleague had a pulled pork quessedilla with arugula salad. Again, beautifully presented, a good portion & he said it was delicious. I would absolutely return."

Had an amazing dinner from the
moment we arrived. The waitress was very friendly and made us feel comfortable. As for the food I can't say anything but yum! We had the Mosaic Harvest menu from VanEats and both the choices I made and the choices that my bf made were delicious. I loved the scallops which were cooked perfectly and not over seasoned but the star of the night had to have been that chocolate cake! It was to die for! We couldn't finish our portions so we brought it home to our families and everyone agreed that it was perfection, not too sweet but just right. Had a lovely dinner date and hope to return to try out new foods! Kudos to Chef Heinrich on an amazing menu well executed!"

I've come for lunch with a group
of friends several times and most recently with one friend. The service is always prompt and friendly without being over-the-top in any way. The food (although I somehow always get the cobb salad!) is excellent and well presented. On my last visit, I brought a friend who was very impressed. His is the manager of an accounting firm downtown and mentioned he'd be coming back."

Food was superb. Really enjoyed
the risotto and scallops. Service was friendly, prompt, and courteous. Birthday cake was delicious :) Thank you for an amazing time"

We keep returning to this
treasure-- if for no other reason than the delicious lamb loin! Always warm, attentive service. Excellent choices on the menu."
Dined on 2/20/2014
Pretty decent restaurant,
reasonable price, but wine list is poor, mainly local $10 wine, should have more international ones"
Dined on 2/14/2014
A nice place to enjoy a peaceful
afternoon, especially when you want to have a conversation with your friends."
Dined on 2/7/2014
Always attentive, accomodating and
anxious to please. the food is great, too! I've never left hungry. One of my favorite lunch spots in downtown Vancouver."
Dined on 2/4/2014
Quite possibly the best breakfast
I have had out in the last year. Food and service was great."

It's relaxing and can be romantic
if bring your love one. I tried the dine out menu. All the food looks great and most of them taste great as well. I love the soup and dessert!"

My husband came here for date
night and this was our second time here in a few years. The food is amazing and the service was aesome. We will definatly be back."

I was there for dinner for my
girlfriend's birthday. The restaurant was quieter than the other restaurants that were offering dine out. I had the country lamb dish with pasta in red wine sauce. The lamb was so tender with a lot of flavour. The only criticism I had about the dish was that the pasta was a little bit under cooked. We received a complementary birthday cake for my girlfriend. It was the biggest cake we ever received from a restaurant. The chocolate cake was moist and not too sweet. Great dinner overall."

Read great things about the Chef &
Mosaic by foodies and was looking forward to trying Mosaic. It was both mine & my guest's first dining experience and it was exactly what I read about & more. We were here to try the Dine Out Fest menu. The food was amazing. The service was amazing. Definitely a gem within the downtown core. From the moment my guest & I set foot into the restaurant until we left, everything was perfect. The servers were so nice & delightful. The food not only tasted very flavourful, but was also plated very beautifully. If you're a foodie, then you'll love taking pics of your food at Mosaic. Now I understand why foodies in Vancouver love Chef Thomas Heinrich and his creations. Looking forward to my next visit to Mosaic!"

Comfortable open grill setting.
Food above average. Service is spotty. We will certainly go back."
Dined on 1/31/2014
tried to call 4 times to let
restaurant know my group will be running a little bit late and no one picked up the phone and went to voicemail. although, the restaurant wasn't busy so maybe that's why..."

Originally went for dine out
Vancouver, but ended up ordering from the regular menu instead. Poached Cod was cooked perfectly. One friend did order from the dine out menu and was very happy with her choice. Another friend was skeptical after dining here earlier in the week for lunch and was not happy with the food. Took the recommendations of our waitress and ordered the lamb and was very impresses with her food. Everything was cooked perfectly and the lamb was moist and tender. We will definitely return as this restaurant is located very close to our offices and is great for dinner after a movie or event"
Dined on 1/24/2014
This is our first Dine Out
Vancouver experience and we were quite happy with the restaurant. Their menu looked fabulous but we choose the Dine Out Vancouver Menu and decided just to go for it. Everything was prepared and presented fabulously and the taste of each plate exceptional. Portions were really tiny, so it seemed just like it was a "tasting menu" except for the soup I ordered and the dessert, which was quite large, and out of proportion from the other plates. It too, was delicious. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. Don't come hungry."
Dined on 1/18/2014
Nice restaurant. Good location. I
had a chef salad and although they were open to substituting cheddar cheese for blue cheese, the chunks of cheese they put in were more appropriate for a cheese and cracker plate then salad. No big deal but you asked! Also the waiter was fairly inattentive."
Dined on 1/14/2014
Beautifully presented food and
great service! Definitely a good place for all ages and occasions!"
Dined on 1/11/2014
This was my second visit to Mosaic
in a month, both times for lunch. Good food, comfortable and quiet enough for conversation, and very good, friendly service. This will be my go-to spot to take friends for lunch."
Dined on 1/10/2014
Great food, nice restaurant
environment! Wish requested options for dishes have been confirmed before I came. Wish option for table selection available. Overall, I definitely recommend this place Grain / Mosaic at Hyatt Vancouver for a good dine-out"
Dined on 12/31/2013
The buffet was superb, with a
tremendous variety of fresh foods, side dishes (smoked salmon; jumbo shrimp; cheeses, etc.) and deserts - all very well-presented. Main dishes - presented/served by the Chefs - included an excellent roast beef, turkey, salmon ... all with a selection of sides (e.g. roasted veggies, various mini-rolls, etc.). Service was exceptional, with lots of attentive staff/servers, all of whom were very friendly and helpful, unobtrusive yet attentive and ready to clear plates and replace cutlery. The ambiance was quiet and relaxed, with dimmed lighting and soft background music; my partner and I had a quiet window table. I would definitely recommend this buffet, and we will probably return again, next Dec. 25."
Dined on 12/25/2013
The Buffett lunch was ok. Nothing
special for the high price demanded. Simple food fare was offered up such as your typical turkey dinner, roast beef, mashed potatoes, and vegetables. Selection of cold seafood, cheeses and fruits. Breakfast fare also offered, buffet style, simple bacon, sausage, egg deal. The buffet, in my opinion was grossly over priced at $65. To add insult to the price they added on an automatic 18% tip. It was mandatory. When customary tipping is 15% and we were a party of two eating at a buffet, this was also outrageous. I get it is Christmas but staff members already get time and a half pay wise and an18% tip at a buffet is just plain wrong! especially when the buffet is so over priced to begin with."
