The servers know the menu and you can ask them any question about the food and they can give you an answer. The atmosphere is great and Michael is the perfect host."

  • "Our server was good - not Mortons steak house finer dining good but still good. Found him a bit to casual for Mortons. The food was to die for probably the best steak house I've been to including Ruth Chris and Hys however when we left at 10. 15 which was 15 min after closing no one was at coat check so we had to go in the room with the coats ourselves then when we left the restaurant no one was at the door to say goodbye. A huge disappointed considering we dropped $350 for just the 2 of us. Even though the food was great we will not return because of the service at the end of our dinner."

  • "The restaurant was very inviting upon entering. The lobster bisque was amazing. This is a place for carnivores, the bone in ribeye steak was truly one of the best I've had. My fellow diners both had the filet which was also exceptional. The chocolate volcano cake was the best way to end the meal. This is for special occasions as is it quite expensive with wine."

  • "The experience was awesome, we arrived early for our reservations and instead of having us wait they seated us right away. It was a welcoming experience, they gave us a personalized menu that said Happy Anniversary.The food, started w/crab cakes & shrimp cocktail which was delish. Main course I ordered the rib eye w/sauteed spinach & mushrooms and twice baked potatoes. My husband ordered the porterhouse w/baked potato, both steaks came out perfect to our liking. The sides especially the spinach w/mushrooms were a hit for my husband & I. The desserts, Morton's gave us a chocolate souffl and we ordered the creme brulee again we were not disappointed. We both enjoyed our first experience at Morton's which we can't wait to go again. "

  • "I went to The Morton's Steakhouse specifically for restaurant week. I was extremely disappointed with the menu choices for restaurant week. I expected a limited number of menu options but a hamburger....really? If you wanted a steak there was an upcharge. I thought the point of restaurant week was for chef's to showcase their skills....I didn't see that with the hamburger, salmon, and chicken items."

  • "My wife an I arrived an hour early - from a conference in town. We were treated like royalty. The small bar was wonderful and quiet while we waited for a table (about 5 minutes). The maître d' was friendly and went above an beyond with service -even after we had been served, and were eating dinner. My wife wanted to leave me for the chef - the food was that good. When we are in Seattle next, we will make reservations immediately. An expensive meal, but so worth it!!"

The good news was the waiter was great and didn't hover around our table, or disappear to not be found when we needed something. Perfect balance. Food was great, wine suggestion was spot on and service was fast. Steaks came out perfect and the sides were delicious."

  • "Morton's, Seattle, was ideal for our college-entrance celebration. Cocktails included the best Sazerac I can remember. All our steaks were tender & delicious; perfect, really. Like many others, Morton's "rare" sounds almost like the grill is pointed out to the steak from across the kitchen. But even when my grandfather would say his steak was "just fine, as long as it can still moo," that is *not* what he meant. However, Morton's happily & perfectly accommodated my request (125-130F). The chopped salad was a bit soft in texture but fresh & tasty; the grilled asparagus somewhat lacked flavor. Service: excellent, friendly, unpretentious. Noise: tolerable. All consistent with our KC Morton's experience of 15 years ago. Expensive? Duh."

  • "My wife's birthday experience started off great! Wine was good, bread warm, onion soup fantastic but it all ended there. My crab cocktail was dry and not meaty as advertised. My filet was good (small amount of gristle) and my wife's filet was ordered butterflied and well done but it came out rare. It took several attempts to flag someone down, the waiter finally came over so we could have it re-heated. That took another 15 minutes and by then she was full and uninterested (the steak was also visibly still red-even on the outside). This did not meet our expectations of a top quality steak house. One star for my wife's name printed on the menu and the second star is for the onion soup and the soufflé (both were excellent)."

  • "We have been comparing the top steakhouses in Seattle...El Gaucho, Capital Grille, John Howie, Ruth Chris, etc. Morton's was the last on our list and unfortunately did not measure up. We had a terrible server who seemed unconcerned that he could not answer any of our questions, mumbling a couple times that he had been off for a week and was not up to speed with the offerings....do they change that much in a week?! I suspect that the food was probably better than we got but with poor info on choices we had sauces and sides that we did not like and wine that was not what we had hoped. At that price point I expect to get good guidance and have a smooth experience with the server....The steak was good but the rest of the meal was disappointing."

  • "My sweetheart is a steak lover from North Dakota. When we met 11 years ago I took him to Morton's for his birthday. We have been back as often as we can because we think your restaurant is really special. I discovered it with my hair cutter from Bocz salon. We used to come for happy hour in the bar after my once-a-month haircuts. We got to know Alberto over the years and he treated us so nicely. My friend passed away three years ago, and I haven't come in for happy hour since, but was so glad to see that Alberto has returned, Sherry would be very happy to know he is still there."

  • "Michael Hanke, General Manager, is the heart and soul of Seattle Morton's. Since being bought out by Landry's, the quality of the beef has gone down. Staff has been reduced so servers do not have the time they used to to chat with customers. Things were run efficiently however the kitchen did get backed up so we waited more than 20 minutes between courses for our steaks. The steak were okay but nothing like they used to be. If Morton's is not a sentimental favorite as it is for us, and you looking for a good steak, go to El Gaucho. Prices are comparable. Morton's has been forced to go from elegant to country club casual - while maintaining the "elegant" pricing."

  • "My boyfriend and I dined at Morton's for his birthday and I would have to say that I was very impressed with the restaurant. From parking valet to leaving the restaurant everything was on point. Our waiter was very knowledgable about the food on the menu and the wine he recommended was exactly what he explained. I do admit that the price point for this restaurant is very steep, however I would go back if I wanted to splurge on another special occasion."

We sat near the kitchen so lots of activity near our table which I was worried about at first but it was really a lot of fun to see all the action in the restaurant.   • "Rickety tables and uncomfortable seats. Atmosphere of an old bingo hall in desperate need of a major renovation. Menu is way overpriced for the quality of food. Steaks have next to no flavor. Service was nothing to write home about either... We'll stick to Daniel's, Ruth's or El Goucho for high end steak house dining, from now on."

  • "My date and I decided to have a late dinner at Morton's for Valentine's day. The restaurant is located at a convenient location near the Convention center and parking was easy to find. The restaurant actually has a red carpet leading up to the door with a valet attendant waiting to assist you. Once you go in the door, you head two flights of stairs down to the dinning area (somewhat strange). Essentially, the entire restaurant is underground. The lobby is lined with wooden drawers or lockers full of wine and other fine spirits. The food was great. The steaks are juicy and well marbled. The only thing we didn't like were the vegetables. Simply bland. But otherwise, a flawless experience."

  • "For the price, one expects to get a steak that is at least hot. Ours were lukewarm (even though requested medium rare). And, the beef wasn't the grade that we have gotten at other high end steak restaurants. Our foursome has been going to such restaurants for many years three times a year for birthday celebrations. This event resulted in the largest charge we have experienced (exceeding even the pricey El Gaucho in Belltown). All in all, a very disappointing evening."

  • "Was my 57th birthday and I spent it with my wife and my parents. Micheal Henky the GM treats everyone like they are family and is incredibly knowledgeable about wine. The food for lack of a better word was perfect! The ambiance is classic with the frosted glass dividers and doors and we commented how quiet it was. Our server Jem was truly a gem! She seemed to be there when we needed her and away when we didn't! Do yourself a favor and next time you want an amazing dinner, Go to Mortons! I'll be back on Feb 15th!"

I would definitely recommend Morton's, though as the title says, there IS better out there. I would definitely rank it up there with Daniel's Broiler, but definitely no El Gaucho. A better and more worthwhile chain than Ruth's Chris. Again, everything fantastic, but I just prefer others out there."
