  • "Took a group of family members because they had never been there. Excellent wait time upon arrival with a reservation made. I had to change the reservation twice and they were happy to assist. We were placed in a corner of the restaurant that allowed us to look out at the beach and over the entire restaurant. Great atmosphere and the food was absolutely as perfect as I have always come to expect. The family members loved seeing all the framed pictures of celebrities who have visited as well. Nothing about Morton's is a disappointment. I only had one small issue as the appetizers I ordered didn't all arrive and the drinks took a little longer than I would have liked. Other than those two very minor things, it was outstanding."

  • "Was dining alone. Waiter had 2 large tables to service. He spent most of this time dealing with them. Waited 15 minutes for my check after I finished eating. Waiter was abrupt was servicing my table. Disappointing as my other visits to Morton's were outstanding and I expected more."

  • "The food was pretty good. I do love steak and they cooked my Cajun Rib eye very well. But the place feels a little run down and messy. This place is very convenient if you're staying the in Caribe Hilton but I felt it was a little over priced and the proximity to the public area of the Hilton makes it susceptible to noise pollution. For a similar price you can eat at Perla at La Concha for a more exclusive feeling dining experience."

  • "Morton's offers a great...but pricy...dining experience. The shrimp capalinni and Brussel sprouts were very flavorful. The atmosphere was relaxing and the wait staff was welcoming and very attentive. They played a good selection of music at a volume that allowed for easy conversation while offering a subtle background. Aside from the price...just my thinking, but no steak is worth $50...this was very enjoyable."

  • "Your food was absolutely amazing! But, the sign saying please excuse the dust did not put a comfortable feeling in us. Plus your ambiance does not match the quality of the food. Also, We found it very noisy. You need white sound or something to absorb the noise of chatter."

  • "The restaurant was undergoing some renovations and, when we arrived for our 8:00 p.m. reservation, the front desk seemed a little overwhelmed but things got better from there. The main dining room had nice ambience (really liked the all the fine wines displayed around the room) and our server, Joel, was a consummate professional. Our porterhouse for two came to the table cooked more to a rare than the medium-rare we ordered but the maître 'd quickly offered to fire it some more for us. Regardless of how it was cooked, there is no denying it was a terrific cut of steak. The rest of the meal was excellent. All in all, a very good dining experience."

  • "All that you would expect from a very good American steakhouse, including high prices. Appetizers, steaks and scallops were very good and the side dish of spinach and mushrooms had excellent flavor. Only disappointment was that in a restaurant where everything is big (large steaks, sides for 2, generous portioned desserts) the coffee came in a small cup that was only half filled: the waiter willingly provided a refill, but the initial serving of non-expresso coffee in such a small quantity was surprising."

  • "Reserved for Valentine's day. Having such bad experiences in other restaurants, we played "safe" to go to one of our favorites places. We had to wait over 30 min to be seated (even though they called the night before, and confirmed time). They had just painted a room and the odor in the area was intolerable. The service was not the best, I guess they should be prepared for a full restaurant. High price, ok food: all the food served overcooked. Not the best Valentine's day for us."

  • "We had high hopes for Morton's to live up to places like Ruth's Chris, Capital City Grill and Manny's, but were a little disappointed. It was good, but not great. Center Cut Filet was very under seasoned and overdone. Chopped Spinach Salad was kind of blah. Twiced Baked Au Gratin potatoes were the only highlight. Server was stiff and robotic. Sorry, Morton's...it was just so-so."

  • "We love steak houses so whenever there's a choice of a good one we will make it part of our vacation dinners. We've been to Morton's many times and there's no doubt the food is excellent but there's something about this one that just doesn't hold up to it's reputation. Maybe it's the low ceilings at the bar that makes you feel like you're in a basement or the unnecessary wait for food when only half the tables are taken or the smoke alarm going off in the middle of dinner. Everyone seems to be running around but there's still a wait for your food. They did comp the souffle so I guess I shouldn't complain but maybe BLT next time? Or the new Meat Market at the El San Juan?"

  • "Our food was very good on the whole. The seasonal beet salad had way too much dressing and very little goat cheese when compared to the image shown in the special flier. The lamb chops were extremely fatty. The Chicago style steak was excellent. Our waiter was not very attentive. We had a long delay between ordering our wine, having it served by the sommelier and having our waiter return to take our order. Then another very long delay between the salads and the entrees being served and again after our meal was finished before the waiter returned to collect our dishes."

  • "Went with my girlfriend for our anniversary. The service was outstanding. I chose the anniversary option in Morton's website reservation system and every staff member we spoke with during our visit congratulated us. The menu we were handed was customized with a personal congratulatory message. We were given a free souffle (they called earlier in the day to inquire as to which flavor I would prefer) and the waiter took our picture and gave us a copy in a card. The food was delicious, as Morton's is known for. My only critique is that the steak was well-done even though we asked for medium. The view was beautiful. Expensive, but you get what you pay for! TL;DR Service 5/5 Food 4.5/5 Perfect place for an anniversary celebration!"

  • "Came here to celebrate the new year with my family. Turned out to be a fun night with great food. The table was not quite ready when we arrived, but the staff was genuinely concerned and kept us informed all along. When midnight rolled around the place turn into a New Years party for 10 minutes or so and then back to great service and food. A very cool evening. Hoping to come back in 2015."

At least they were apologetic and gave us complimentary food. However, it wasn't a typical night, and the new year's "party" atmosphere was great."

  • "The service was a bit dissapointing, but i have found service at nearly all restaraunts and hotels in San Juan to be 'average' at best. I did, however, expect the service at Morton's to be on par with its counterparts in the States. The food was quite good and was certainly as expected. I felt a bit pushed-away because I was not known at this location. I saw a number of regular customers swooned upon. I do expect overall service better than we had. We were seated at a table alone, not near the ocean view, but a great view of a hallway. I would go back, but not make it a destination."

The venue is spectacular with the ocean views, and the service staff was outstanding (they even personalized our menus and brought a celebratory dessert!). However, the quality of the food was mediocre. I was really hoping that the online reviews were wrong but indeed they are correct. Please, please improve the food, as the location and the staff are superb."
