  • " We will never go there again. My husband ordered the special without the sauces etc. I ordered the small Fillet. My food was good , my husbands steak tastes terrible, after the first bite did not go well he told the waiter that he was sorry but, that this was the worst steak he had ever had. The waiter immediately took the plate and said I will bring you another fillet, no apologies or any other words. After 20 min a steak was put in front of him he asked for the manager and told him he did not want the steak the manager , sorry about that I will get your bill. We left after paying for my food and our drinks with no sincere apology at all.. We are Landrys select members and have also passed this info on to there feedback page"

  • "For many years, Morton's has been one of our favorite restaurants for fine dining and steaks. I'm afraid this is no longer true. I should have been forewarned since I was able to make a reservation one hour before going, on a Saturday night. The waiter was great and provided wonderful service. The food was not good at all. We ended up paying $175.00 for two steaks (ribeye and NY) both full of gristle. Seriously. Mine should have been marbled, not gristly. Our one baked potato came to the table luke warm. We sent it back. Our wedge salad was ok. I had one glass of wine. So two gristly steaks, one cold potato, a salad and a glass of wine for $175.00. I think not. This restaurant has lost the recipe, literally and figuratively."

  • "We love Mortons. This was our 2nd dining experience there and we were very excited to share this with our friend who was turning 50 yrs old. She loved the confetti on the table with the "Happy Birthday" spelled out. The special menu designed for her and was especially excited about the complimentary photo that was taken. It was a bonus to have the wonderful food too! We started with crab cakes....selected a wonderful salad to share...and two of us chose one of the Mixed Grills and it did not disappoint. It was wonderful. The men had cajun rib eye steaks and LOVED them. The only thing we were missing was the superb service this time. BUT, we will still be back..."

The staff customized our dinner menu's "Happy 51st Birthday, Mom", put confetti on our table, took a birthday picture and printed it out for us, and gave her a wonderful birthday dessert with a candle.   • "I main come here for the steaks. Our steaks wasn't cook properly and it wasn't as good compare to all other times we were there. I can cook a better steak at home with my grill and a Costco 7.99/lb steak. Can't believe we pay almost $200 for 2 so so steaks. Our server came by to ask about our steaks but we didn't start eating them yet so we didn't know. We ordered Med Rare and got pretty rare on both steaks. He didn't come by until almost 30 mins later so by that time we had already consumed the steak and didn't have a chance to send them back to the kitchen to recook. The quality of the steak is Choice at best, not prime dry aged. Very disappointed."

  • "It goes without saying that the food at a high end steakhouse should be excellent and on this visit to Morton's it was. What stood out for us was the service which was a perfect balance of comfortable pacing, pleasant humor, anticipation of what we might want and the almost invisible but well timed refilling of water and wine glasses and removal of empty plates. It's an element that's often missing in lesser restaurants."

  • "I love this restaurant but have had mixed experiences there -- at least recently. In the most recent visit, the food quality (especially for the steak) was not what I expected. I had a center-cut rib eye and it was extremely fatty... Not the good-sort-of-marbled you'd expect from a rib eye, but big chunks of fat which made the steak partially inedible. My wife and friends had the filet, which was good but not outstanding. On the other hand, the crab cakes, lobster cocktail, and shrimp cocktail were absolutely fantastic, as were the drinks and ambience. But for a $125/pp meal at arguably the most prestigiously named steak house, I expected better steak."

He made us feel very comfortable! Our service was exceptional! We also received a complimentary dessert and a couple after dinner drinks which was fabulous! It was adorable how they offered a keepsake picture from the restaurant! Which was perfect as it was our anniversary! Overall my husband and I absolutely enjoyed our dinner there!   • "The focus, at Morton's, is definitely the meat. The steaks were great and cooked to perfection. The unfortunate part is some of the sides and desserts. The mashed sweet potato side was excellent, but the potatoes gratin was bland and "wet". The chocolate mousse was amazing, but the creme brûlée was not set up at all (like soup with a crust on top). Had to send the first brûlée back, and the second was...better...at first...and quickly softened into goop. The service was excellent, though, so I'll keep it at 4 stars overall."

  • "We always brushed off Morton's as "the chain steak place". In a random fit a few weeks ago when we wanted quality to eat at home, we discovered they had take out. The food was surprisingly good. This weekend, we actually went and ate there for the first time. I think this particular Morton's gets overlooked because it is isn't near any of the other San Pedro downtown action. When SP2 and the other "hot" spots are booked, Morton's usually still has a few tables, since it's off the narrow beaten path of downtown. And the food is actually spectacular. The steak, the salmon, the chicken, the mac n' cheese, the potatoes, the desserts. And the service is generally thorough and friendly, to boot. We're going to make this a regular night out."

  • "Well, it was our 44th Wedding Anniversary as we were married on Valentines Day. BUT, we know that it's not the best night for celebrating since alot of people are also celebrating this occasion. We opted to go the night before and this place did not disappoint. We were escorted to our table at exactly our reservation time. A wonderful comfy booth, decorations on the table and an awesome waitress. It was very personalized...even the menu had "Happy 44th Anniversary"...a nice touch. We started with spinach salad and crab cake appetizer...both were excellent. I had filet mignon and lobster tail (fabulous) and my husband had the mixed grill with filet, scallops and prawns...equally impressive. worth the price in every bite...Cheers!"

  • "The food was great. The service was great. The seating was terrible. I had made reservations for my daughter and I ahead of time for an early 6:00 dinner. I was dissatisfied with where we were seated in heavy traffic area. So all during dinner there was a parade of servers back and forth in front of our table. On top of that we were right in back of the cocktail area. It was very loud with those there for Happy Hour. My complaint is that we could have been seated in the middle of the room like the rest of the customers there. It was early and there were plenty of tables and we had a reservation. I won't return since that does not seem to be their practice."

  • "My first time at Morton's! They had a special offer of a fabulous 3-course dinner for only $60! Great choices for each course; the salad was huge and enough for 3 people, the steak was beyond words, one of the best I have ever had, the prawns that accompanied the steak were delicious. I don't have words for the potatoes au gratin. One of the best dishes I have ever eaten! For dessert, my friend enjoyed the molten lava chocolate cake while I loved my key lime pie! The service was impeccable! As a foodie, I can highly recommend Morton's. It is high on my list of the best restaurants I have ever been to in the world!   • "Jennifer and our hostess on January 30 provided a wonderful evening for Melodee and I. It was our 8 year anniversary and we were heading to the George Straight concert at the Sap center. Our hostess seated us promptly and was very kind, engaging and personnel by taking our picture and decorating our table with anniversary decorations. Jennifer was thorough, quick and considerate of our wishes. She did a wonderful job. I do recommend San Jose Morton's to anyone looking for a great steak and wonderful service.   • "I've been to Morton's many times, here and elsewhere. The steaks are uniformly EXCELLENT, prepared as perfectly as you order. The sides, and everything else for that matter, are steep in price but long on flavor and SIZE. The lump crab meat appetizer is fabulous as are most of the cold seafood starters, avoid the rest. Most everything can be shared, including the salads. Each Morton's has an extensive and somewhat reasonable price list, compared to all else. I cannot, however, issue four stars because the service here is always a little slow and is very uneven in quality. Once you'll have good service, the next you get Chatty Cathy who seems like she's on her first gig and slipping out between courses for a cigarette. Not what you pay for."
