  • "As a longtime Morton's diner, I was concerned by the Landry's buyout. My first visit back since was a confirmation of those concerns. The bone-in ribeye was maybe an inch thick in the center, tapering to 1/2 inch on the edges. It was a light tan color, quite a contrast from a decade of nice brown charred finishes. The fat was not rendered, leaving the steak chewy. Ordered medium rare, the first offering came out medium well. The second attempt came out rare, which I ate to be able to eat some part of my steak with my guests. No efforts to remedy the mistake on the ticket whatsoever. A follow up call from management regarding the issue (where I mentioned the lack of remedy) found no further efforts even to credit a future visit. C-"

  • "I went with my wife to celebrate our daughter's 1st Birthday, its our first child and we wanted to make good memories so we decided to go to San Antonio and spend some time together, we picked this place for our 1 night formal dinner. The server seemed very friendly in the beginning, as soon as he found out we are not ordering any wine his attitude changed We still ended up paying $130 for 2 people dinner which I believe is a good ticket for 2 people at this restaurant without any alcohol. I still ended up giving 20% gratuity, Since I wanted to be different and not like him. Usually if you go there for some occasion they take your picture and give you a card, but in our case it was not even offered. Place for big spenders only."

  • "I made my reservations on Open Table, which is so easy! But the reservation I needed of 7:00pm was not shown. So I reserved 5:45. I have learned that sometimes when you call the restaurant they can change it to the time you desire. So I called and they changed it to 6:15 but would not accommodate 7:00.I called again another day and they said they would talk with the manager later in the day to see if he could change it for me. I did receive a call that moved the reservation to 6:45. We were trying to go to church before dinner and the earlier time would not allow that. We arrived and had a wonderful dinner but the restaurant was not full and there were plenty of 4 top tables available at 7:00pm!!! Not very happy with Morton's policy!!!"

The personalized menus were neat and the framed and dated picture taken at the table will mean the evening will be remembered for ever. Otherwise, I'd be on a first name basis with the staff. My only dislike, was the initial seating suggestion. With so many open tables we were taken to a booth far off the main seating. Once I declined the initial seating arrangement, I was reassigned to a more pleasant location. "

  • "2014 Mother's Day is a template for the next couple Mother's Day. It started with a sweet card followed by a new dinner ring which I wore to dinner at Morton's on the River Walk. I had the best veal chop since I was living in Italy. I do not normally smack my lips after a meal, but this meal got three lips smacks. Morton's will be added to my favorite places to have dinner.   • "This was our second visit to Morton's. Once again, our experience was wonderful. We showed up early & we were greeted right away. Our waiter even remembered us from a few months back. I love how they explain the menu to you & give suggestions on what goes with what. It was a perfect date night for my husband & I. Being able to get away from the kids & have time alone in a really nice restaurant was awesome. The only problem I have is the noise level of everyone around you talking. Even having a corner table, it did not seem private enough."

  • "The atmosphere in the restaurant is very upscale, relaxing and romantic. You expect to pay a premium for the environment. While the steak was very well prepared the $58 price (ala-cart) was certainly not justified. Once again the what Morton's offers is the ambiance, the service, the romantic candlelight dinner atmosphere cannot be met by lesser establishments. As a self proclaimed foodie I could not recommend Morton's based on the food alone, the prices erase any value the preparation of the food established. I would venture to guess the prices are a necessary business proposition however as our 7:30 pm Sunday evening reservation wasn't needed. Roughly 10% of the tables were occupied."

  • "The food was no better than any much lower priced chain restaurant/steakhouse. The steaks were very good cuts but they were cooked hard on the outside probably due to the type of grill used. The very large asparagus did not appear or taste like they had been steamed at all. The shrimp with the mixed grill were overlooked. Both the shrimp and scallops were over seasoned. My husband ordered the twice baked potatoes au gratin; these were very soupy. The natural flavors of the food was hidden. Even with improvements, the menu items are shamefully overpriced. We felt as if we had been duped and we felt quite foolish for choosing Morton's. A very expensive, disappointing experience!!"

  • "We had a wonderful time at Morton's The Steakhouse in San Antonio. We had a business meeting and all were entertained by the wonderful food and the excellent atmosphere. We did not expect the large portions that were served to us. The salads are almost entire meals to themselves. The steaks were excellent even though we did have some problems with the temperature of some steaks. There were two of our steaks that were served rare when asked for medium. Overall the experience was enjoyable."
