Diner Reviews
  • "From the time I walked in to the time I left my date and I were treated like royalty. Love this place for special occasions!"

  • "Very pleasant evening. We tried two items on the Spring Specials. The Bone In filet over carmelized onions topped with blue cheese crumbles was outstanding. Cooked perfectly and sized right. I enjoyed the steak and saved the bone for the pooch. When I ordered the new Tuna appetizer I was notified that it was spicy. Good, I like spice. Unfortunately it was WAY too black peppery. The silky subtle taste of the tuna was lost. Hope they reengineer it and return an improved version. All in all, Trying something new is always fun."

  • "I had not yet been to the dining room since Landry's took over, and though the cool factor of seeing your meat presented to you as the menu is gone, the menu itself is still outstanding. Service was absolutely wonderful, and the food was perfect. Yes, it's still very expensive. For me it is an indulgence for a celebration only. But they made us feel like it was worth every penny."

  • "We went here for our Anniversary because we had a gift card to use. This was our first time at Morton's and we were so happy we did! We had a 5 star experience. Everything was supurb! The restaurant was quiet, so the ambience was intimate. Our waitress was extremely nice and very attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. Of course, the steak was excellent and everything else we ordered could not have been better. There is no doubt in my mind that we will return! I look forward to our next visit and know that we will be very satisfied."

  • "Steak, steak, steak. That's what I always want when I dine at Morton's, but this visit I tried the veal chop and it was outstanding! Perfectly cooked, with truffle butter on top. I shouldn't be surprised, veal is steak, only younger. Bacon steak app is decadent. Be sure to share as it is quite rich."

  • "This was my husbands birthday dinner, the restaurant has great atmosphere, the service was great and the food was truly outstanding."

  • "Expensive, but worth it--great experience every time."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "noisy and expensive. Moved tables to get somewhere a bit quieter. The new table was next to the bar, the hostess desk and front door, while quieter, the traffic was constant. One item ordered came after dinner was finished, it was taken off the bill, and was taken home in doggy bag, but was not part of the meal as planned. All this for $120 per person, a sports bar or McDonald’s would have been the same and much cheaper."

  • "Mortons is Mortons. It's stupidly expensive and unless you're on an expense account, a CEO, or some sports person who wants to be seen at Mortons, you can get just as good a steak at quite a few other places for half what you'd spend here. We had to send back a $12 side dish because it was not fit to eat - really? Two hundred bucks for dinner without a bottle of wine is just dumb."

  • "A friend and I go to this Morton's quarterly for a good and quiet lunch. The steaks are alwaya great and the service at just the right level. We'll be back."

  • "My mother was in town for the weekend and had never been to Mortons before Friday. She and I had the same meal (Chicken Bianco) which was fabulous. The chopped salad was very tasty and plentiful and the bread was out of this world. My mother couldn't stop talking about how nice the atmosphere was. Our server was great (Ed). He explained everything perfectly and was very helpful when we did have questions. The Apple Crisp was very yummy. We were full from our meals but managed to share it anyway. Overall good experience and will definitely dine at Mortons again in the near future."

  • "Special place for a celebration . Steak was amazing. Great that you can share some of the sides. Loved the chopped salad. It is the best. Get the hot chocolate cake for dessert. Service was superb."

  • "Food was great as usual but they really did it up for us for my daughter's birthday. menu was personalized, waiter was extra attentive, took a picture and gave it to her, comped us a dessert. All in all a very good experience."

  • "Dinner for three, with tip, exceeded $350, way too much for what we got. Food was ok, nothing to write home about; service was good, ambience was also ok, thougu the tables seemed close together, and the place was crowded, making for somewhat constricted feeling. Overall it was not a bad experience, but it didn't justify the cost. I'd say it's a place for a special occasion, not for an ordinary evening out (unless money is no object)."

  • "Our server, Robert, was excellent. He anticipated some of the things we might like for lunch, and was very helpful. A very positive experience."

  • "Had not been to Morton's since it was purchased by Landry's. The interior has been remodeled somewhat and they've done away with the menu cart presentation. In doing so....something is missing and the overall experience is less special and differentiating. Food was good and the server was excellent, but it felt more like Ruth's Chris than it did in the past."

  • "Celebrating anniversary. Staff was very professional and made the night special. We will certainly return."

  • "This place thrives on hype and chic reputation but not on reality. I've been three times and always reminded by the end of the night that the meal does not compare to the price. I have finally learned my lesson. The waitress brought us the wrong dish which we started eating before realizing it was not what we ordered. No compensation was offered. Save your money and go to Logan's Roadhouse. Just as good if not better steaks for about 1/8th price. BTW - I'm 59 and have been to hundreds if not over a thousand restaurants."

  • "Morton's was very good to us for my birthday celebration this past Sunday. Our server was extremely lively and attentive, however he was particularly loaded with tables and therefore very busy, and I didn't get to have as many drinks as I would have liked. The manager had to help him out a few times, but that is not their fault. However, the entire reason I came to Morton's was because I had been craving lobster and while we were waiting for our entrees the manager came to tell us that they were (somehow) out of lobster. I opted for the shrimp alexander that was highly recommended and was pretty disappointed. It was good but not nearly as good as some other things I could have opted for like the beef short ribs. Oh well."

  • "We decided to try Morton's after a 15 year hiatus because our first 2 experiences were significantly less than expected from what is supposed to be a high end steak house. We heard from a friend that Morton's was under new ownership and the meals were great and the ambiance much improved. Well yet again we were seriously disappointed. When spending $200 on dinner for 2 (with one glass of wine each) and the best part of the meal were the truffle fries and the onion bread, something is amiss. We ordered a filet and a ribeye steak. Both of these pieces of meat tasted like they came from a low end grocery store and the filet was not even prepared properly. We are done with giving Morton's a try. They do not stack up."
    Dined on 2/16/2014
  • "Food was what I expected but the service wasn't. No excuse for a place that charges the amount they do."

  • "We ordered the Filet Minons which were to die for! We had multiple servers which served us on a continuous basis. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The wine expert assisted us to find the perfect bottle of wine by matching it to our particular tastes and budget. The prices are high but not for what you get. We will defiantly be coming back for future special occasions."

  • "I was not pleased with my first experience there. My wife and I were seated with no menu, it took all of ten minutes before the waiter came with the menu and water. I had ordered a Philly Steak and Cheese and it had no cheese and the fries were burnt and it was a overall bad experience for my wife and I. Definitely not good for our Valentine's early lunch."

  • "This location has just been remodeled 6 months ago. The ambiance is much better. Before there were no windows, and it was brightly lit with artificial lighting. The tables were all in rows, and with the open kitchen it just seemed too busy and unprivate. Now even with the new windows, the new black decor makes the place more darker, intimate place. It does feel like you can have more of romantic date there. The arrangement of the tables with more round tables in the middle and booths on the side makes the place feel smaller a good way. The service was great as always and the food is very good. I had a very demanding friend with me, and the manager made sure her steak was done right."

  • "Thank you to the wonderful staff for making a special night for my family. We celebrated our oldest son's 10th birthday there and couldn't have asked for more. From the greetings as we walked in the door to the special name on the menu. Our son said he was grinning from ear to ear."

  • "Much of the refined and upscale approach to Morton's has been stripped away under ownership by Landry's Restaurants. As is typical at any Landry's-owned shop, the wait staff try to up-sell you at every opportunity, diminishing the fine dining experience. Honestly, if you're there to enjoy some really good steak and drinks with work colleagues, clients or the family on a special occasion, you do not want to be hounded about chocolate lava cakes that need to be ordered the minute you sit down. Landry's needs to get a clue and back off this overly aggressive practice and understand that business clientele will spend enough on alcohol, appetizers and their entrees."

  • "I made the reservation online, and I indicated that it was a special occasion. The staff at Morton's went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful evening, with custom printed menus and even a simple picture and card for us to take home. The food was wonderful, even if a bit expensive. I would need a second job to eat there more frequently, but it was excellent."

  • "We have dined at several Morton's locations. This, in our opinion (and taste) is by far the best location. The recent renovation has also made it one of the few Morton's with windows. Most are in the basement so it is a great location on a sunny day for lunch. Steaks are always prepared as requested and the side dishes are very tasty. We would dine here more often but unfortunately Morton's has become more pricey over the years so it will be a special treat every few months."

  • "The food, as always, was excellent. The service, as always, was excellent. The remodeling looks wonderful however the noise level seems higher than on previous dining occasions and the light on our table would not stay lit. We were celebrating a birthday for someone from out of town who had never been to Morton's. The birthday picture, the special menus and the surprise birthday dessert were all part of making it a special night for all of us. Thank you!"

  • "We keep going back for the amazing filet served with a bourbon au poive sauce that is to die for! Love all the family-style sides and the wide variety of salads. I recommend splitting a salad as portions here are gargantuan. A very nice wine list is available with a variety of price points that will fit any budget. There is an artisan cocktail menu as well that does not disappoint. A meal here is pricey but if you want a good steak there is no better place. They can make a birthday celebration special with personalized menus as well as a photo to remember the occasion. Service can be slow on a weekend --as they are always crowded."

  • "It was impressive how personal the staff made the evening. I had written on my open table reservation that it was my husband's 50th and every staff member acknowledges this and congratulated him. The personalize menu and picture were nice touches. Food was spectacular. The scallop app with apple chutney, the side of mushrooms and the steaks!!"

  • "Typically loud environment with gregarious business types raising the volume. Service was extremely attentive...maybe too much so. The dinner was just OK, nothing extraordinary but satisfactory "steakhouse" fare. Comparing the local choices in Fairfax area, we still believe Ruth's Chris is the superior alternative."

  • "Morton's is an upscale restaurant that needs to improve its table settings. A loaf of onion bread was placed on the table with no bread knife and no butter knife. We resorted to the steak knife that was the only knife in our place setting. A table knife with each place setting would be helpful. The wait staff was lovely but she tried to remove my finished plate before my dining companion had finished her meal. A fine restaurant (or any restaurant, for that matter) should never remove plates before everyone has finished the meal."

  • "It is a very rare experience that you encounter a waiter that even his words can make your mouth water from the menu that he is introducing. Good job guys!"
    Dined on 1/25/2014
  • "Service and food quality was up to Morton's standard, and they are introducing some interesting new items (e.g., the porcini filet). I am still grieving the decision to drop the prime rib from the menu and I do hope it is brought back at least through a "prime rib night" for those of us who are addicts. There are no other locations to get really good prime rib in Northern Virginia."

  • "Morton's is pricey, very pricey. For a $45 filet, I would have expected a phenomenal steak. It was good, not great, for medium, it was a bit charred on the outside. My fiancé on the other hand loved the cajun rib eye; he said it was very flavorful. Upon arrival they're very attentive to you, it's quite an upscale experience. Halfway through the meal, however, they seemed to disappear for far too long.. Ultimately, it's a great place to bring someone to impress or if you've got a lot of money to spend, but it's quite expensive and I just don't know if it's worth it. A good place to try at least once."

  • "Morton's redesigned their restaurant and destroyed it in the process. From a pleasant , professional environment for a good steak dinner and ideal for business meetings, it has become akin to a disco. They added many tables and completely opened the restaurant so that the noise level is so high you have to shout to be heard across a 30 inch table. At the same time the quality of the food and the service drastically deteriorated. From a place I looked forward to and frequented, it has become a dive that I will never visit again. The same is true for each of the four members of our party last night."

  • "Had reservations this past Wednesday night for an important business dinner. Door service and attention in the bar and from the servers was great - well done - what we expect from Mortons. The food was enjoyable, and all of us enjoyed our dishes. The server could have worked a little harder with the wine list - but not really a big deal. However, the temperature in the retaurant must have been about 55 or 60 degrees. We froze! All of us at the table commented on how cold it was in the restaurant. We were hoping as the room filled up the temperature would increase but it was not to be. With all of the choices in Reston Town Center, I probably won't got back to this Mortons."
