  • "You know how it goes: out of town for a birthday, return straight into a crammed week of work, and pretty soon the event itself falls by the wayside. But with somewhere like Mortons to go for that special meal, it is CONSIDERABLY harder to forget. The special bone-in filet was cooked to perfection, the wine (a Daou reserve '10 from the Central Coast) proved a perfect complement, and they even printed us custom menus to commemorate the occasion. The staff, needless to say, couldn't have been nicer. THIS is what fine dining among friends, including everyone manning the kitchen, the bar, and all the hosting stations, is all about."

It could not have been better, we are still talking about it! The wait staff was the best of the best and we can hardly wait to spend another evening there soon. I haven't mentioned the food, we all ordered something different and everyone was pleased with their meal, how could you not be. Nice touch to have menus with the heading 60th Birthday. Making reservations online was so easy with a follow up call by Morton's confirming. THE BEST 60th Birthday and evening for all 10 of us!"

  • "This restaurant is a great location for theater goers in Portland otherwise it is not a convenient location. The staff is marvelous and couldn't have been more accommodating. As far as a steak house it rates a 3 star out of 5. I do like the option of the steak sauces. I don't think the steak holds up on its own without the sauces. The steak was cooked as ordered which was med-rare. The atmosphere is nice. It does need some wall covering to make the atmosphere richer. Painted off white drywall with dim lighting doesn't give the room the "private club" look that interior seeks to have."

  • "We arrived expecting first class service, food and ambience. My wife and I were dressed for an evening at the symphony. Walking in were people in shorts and t-shirts. The hostess seated us at our table. We had reservations for two but we were seated at table for 4. Staff scurried to remove the extra settings. In the meantime the only other table with patrons was right next to us, and plenty of unused two person tables were all over the place. The waiter was knowledgeable and did an excellent job. By halfway through our dinner the place filled up to about 70% but the noise level became very loud. Anyone with hearing issues wouldn't be able to carry a conversation. The food was good but not fantastic. For the price I expected top of the line."

  • "We had a wonderful experience. I had made a comment about celebrating a birthday and the restaurant personalized the menu for the day and took a picture. Our server Blake was fabulous! It is a little overpriced for the side dishes, but the restaurant is worth it for the special occasions. The food was top notch. My only complaint would be the noise level if you're looking for a quiet meal. I was happy to have a set of earplugs with me that were used the entire time."

And when we arrived they asked if we were seeing the show at the Keller, which we were, and he was sure we had our food with plenty of time to make it to the show. Dinner and drinks for two was pricy at $178. But it was delish!"

  • "Had the best experience. Our reservation was not until 7. I got married this day and it took a lot less time than we had thought. We headed over to Mortons they sat us right away. Had the best service with Justin. The hostess took great pictures. Everyone was nice. The food was amazing. Thank you!"

  • "This was our first visit to Morton's in several years. The waiter did not listen when we repeatedly said we did not want to know about the specials. We have dietary limitations, which were listed in our Open Table reservation, so we knew we could not eat them. We ordered the steaks medium well and the server understood as he said "slightly pink" in the middle. Steaks came out rare and the potato was cold. He took back the steak and not the potato. Manager came by to apologize and we told him our issues with the cold potato and that our vegetable was also going cold. He agreed it all needed to go back and the order was corrected. Food was very good once we got it, however it had gotten so noisy, we could not hear each other."

No fault of the restaurant, it was cooked to perfection, it was that it was too fatty for my taste. Its nice to find a restaurant that has consistent quality and great service."
