  • "My youngest brother turned 50 and I knew that Morton's was the best place to celebrate his special day. It was so easy to reserve with Open Table: email confirmation, reminder, and restaurant confirmation call. We had Manhattan's and I ordered the 4 oz. filet, grilled asparagus. He had the surf and turf that included a large filet and scallops wrapped in bacon. We shared pomme frites with truffle oil. The aged beef was outstanding and served perfectly done. Our server suggested that we order dessert with our dinner order for custom plating and brought the signature molten lava cake which we shared to complete our meal, compliments of Morton's for his birthday. We were both pleased that we selected such a great place to celebrate! Thank you."

My steak, ordered medium, but was over cooked and so stupidly smothered with spices all I tasted was salt (I ordered the peppercorn steak...you'd think I'd taste pepper at least but no, all salt). I've had twice the food at half the price in many of Pittsburgh's local faire restaraunts. If you are looking for some real gourmet food, go somewhere else. This place is only good to impress your friends with how much money you can spend. I will note that the servers and staff were all very nice, very professional, and an absolute pleasure. I just wish the food was good enough to warrant the price."

  • "We typically dine at Morton's for special occasions -- the food/service was great as it always is. A lesson learned the hard way -- confusing wine list -- grouped by reds, whites, etc. Wines were listed randomly w/a $50 wine above/below $100-$200+ bottles. And it's dark -- we ordered what we thought was a $65 bottle (to be low key) that was $430! It was a what!?!?!?! moment. Was it good? Yes. Was it worth $400+? No! It was our fault, yes, but the wine list set-up was a key reason for the mistake. Was it on purpose...? Perhaps the staff could have repeated our choice along w/price tag, before uncorking bottle...? So we could realize our mistake... It was a very nice dinner for Father's Day, but ended on a somewhat less great note."

  • "After many years of dining out in Pittsburgh, I've finally gotten to Morton's! Nice ambiance, very welcoming with excellent service. Two of us shared a 16oz. strip steak that was tasty, juicy and cooked to perfection(med. rare). A light, flavorful onion bread was delicious(not your run of the mill) and we loved the horseradish mashed potatoes. Since we were celebrating a birthday, the grand marnier souffle desert was the absolute "icing on the cake"!! I'm sure we'll return."

I'd say that based on the prices, this would not be a restaurant I would frequent. I prefer a small, local independent restaurant to a larger chain. My husband loved his steak, and he appreciated the fanfare he received for his birthday. It was well worth the experience, and we enjoyed the incredible service. "

  • "We made a reservation and were told that seating was on time, we waited 15 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. The food was awful, my pregnant fiancé ordered a filet medium rare that came out medium well! My father-in-laws strip was so over seasoned. But since we waited over an hour for our food, he had to eat it. Our reservation was for 8:15 and we did not eat until after 10:00. We all ordered medium rare steaks. It should not take over an hour to prepare. The filet was taken off the bill, however, that does not help the fact that a pregnant women had to wait so long to eat and when it came out she didn't even eat. We ordered chocolate soufflé for dessert and it didn't even have chocolate on it. Very, very bad!!"

  • "This Morton's location might be getting a little long in the tooth. The decorum could use an update. The light colored vinyl booths could be brought up to date with a dark leather. The food was okay, but I've had much better steak, even at other Morton's restaurants in the past. Overall it was good, but considering that this Morton's charges prices higher than restaurants like BLT Steak, Joe's, Capital Grille, and others, they have to do better than just good. "

  • "This was a perfect way to celebrate a special occasion. We had plenty to eat (prosciutto wrapped mozzarella, salads, porterhouse steak w/ peppercorn rub, 6 oz. filet mignon w/ shrimp and scallops, horseradish mashed potatoes, sauteed broccoli florets & Morton's Legendary Hot Chocolate Cake) and more than enough to take home with us. The cost (including tip) was approximately $330. BUT, to be honest (and I can't believe I'm saying this), the service made it worth it!!! The wait staff was better than any I have ever experienced...very personable, knowledgeable, and accommodating. More than anything (even the taste/quality of the food), the service is what will bring us back to Morton's Steakhouse for our next special occasion."

Would have liked a bit more variety on the desert menu. Some items a bit more expensive than competition but would recommend having the experience. Restaurant should be aware when people sitting in booths are ready to leave in order to help move rather unwieldy table."

  • "Morton's still good but not the best for steak in Pittsburgh, Capital Grille and Ruth Chris are better. I found menu presentation and specials card to be more like a casual restaurant rather than an upscale restaurant. We were seated in a private room section of the retaurant, which lacked ambiance. Overall, food was good but not great. Cesear salad lacked flavor. Lobster was served out of shell in clumps rather than whole pieces."

For the price of dinner for two we did expect everything to be outstanding and that just wasn't the case. We had a very early reservation and maybe everyone just wasn't on pointe yet. Waiters smelling of cigarette smoke is not one of my favorite things."
