  • "Mortons has always been a sure bet - a place you look forward to when you are unsure of the quality of other steak houses nearby. No matter where we were, we could depend on receiving a very high quality steak, prepared in the old steak house tradition. It just didn't happen tonight - we ordered new york strips that looked more like ribeyes that had no searing to them whatsoever. At $60 a steak, you cannot hope for a good steak - you have to be certain. We were offered another steak but did not accept the offer - that defeats the purpose of having a "sure thing" with Mortons. We night have eaten a better steak that night but once disappointed, the aura of a sure bet is difficult to regain."

  • "After being disappointed in our first choice of restaurant, which we left after cocktails, we found an open reservation at Morton's in Palm Desert. On arrival, we happened to mention that we'd left another steakhouse in town to the hostess. To our surprise, she made sure our waiter and the floor manager knew that. For the rest of the night, they made us feel like VIPs, stopping to chat and make sure we were enjoying our meal. The steak and veal chop we ordered were done perfectly and so delicious. We'll definitely be back on our next trip there."

  • "We made a reservation late in the day and felt like everyone knew that. A lot of repeat and locals were doted on but we felt like the staff wasn't quite sure what to do with 2 females dining alone. We were seated in an odd shaped booth in the main walkway to all the other tables. We got a number if interesting looks from the wait staff rushing by. We noticed plenty of tables for 2 a little further back in the restaurant. Our bad for not asking to be moved. Food was great! Water guy was sweet as I think he could tell we were annoying our waiter by being there. Mom and daughter laughed it off, knowing this request was coming."

But no big deal, our food was great. good homemade chips. delicious burgers...really very good. since it was my birthday, they treated me with a big slice of chocolate cake that was very tasty. so nice of them. Will be going back definitely. I liked the Happy Hour menu, it's interesting that they have two happy hours , one early and one starting at 9:00 til' close. good idea."

  • "This dinner was a great enjoyable meal and time out with my wife. We had service that is Morton's. They provide food that overwhelms the taste buds. They attend to all phases of your dining experience. If there is something not quiet to your needs, they correct that when you tell them. Our waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable of what they have to offer and if there is something you may not know about any dish size or taste. I highly recommend Morton's as a place to get a great meal and to spend a pleasant night with your wife or friends."

The service at the bar and dinner was excellent. Our server was very knowledgable about the wines and made excellent suggestions that would compliment our food.   • "We normally have great experiences at Mortons and always order the same thing everytime, and have eaten at this Palm Springs location before. BUT, I have to admit, LG's won the best steakhouse by a landslide on this week. Service was actually not good, our waiter disappeared for 20 minutes and you could see the staff scrambling to find out where he went. The Ribeye was good, but not as we asked."

  • "There were 4 of us, in for the Steak and Seafood special (at a not so special $59). 2 of us had steak and scallops, (a whole 2 scallops, not even broiled to a bit of color), and coupled with the (small but adequate fillet, since it was quite thick) appeared on the plate as if something had been forgotten. The waiter was pushy and overbearing (a case of trying too hard, not of being obnoxious), but the rest of the staff was charming and helpful. $13 for a manhattan is a bit much - no, a LOT much. I know Morton's is expensive (I've been there several times before) but what we got for the 'expensive' made it not worth it."

  • "If you want steak. Go to Morton's. They can cook it to a perfect rare, rare plus, medium, or whatever level you wish. The sides are always tasty, especially the mushrooms. For dessert, try the lemon soufflé with Sauvignon cream which is light and one of the best soufflés around."

  • "We had our first date at Morton's so return each year to celebrate. If you let them know it is a special occasion, they will take a picture of you at the table to take home and print a menu with our name on it. Nice touch. The food is excellent but portions are large and everything is a la carte, so it is easy to order too much food. I love the lamb and my partner enjoys seafood more than steaks -- although the beef is excellent. We love a martini before dinner and order a bottle of wine with dinner. Wine selection is large and they will help you find one. They also have a nice selection of "high calorie" desserts. If you don't mind spending a lot of money for dinner, it is a great place to celebrate a special day."

  • "Our server, Chris was terrific. He timed our experience perfectly and was present yet not intrusive. The food was great as always. The only element that was a less-than for us was the way another server (I don't think she was the sommelier.) brought and presented our wine. We splurged on a very nice wine. Chris knew it was to be decanted. Apparently the person who brought the wine didn't realize what she was bringing or pouring. It was a clunky presentation. Chris immediately recognized the error on his return to the table and quickly decanted the wine for us and apologized for the miscommunication. All in all, a great night at Morton's."

I am by no means rich, but I don't mind spending a little extra every once in a while to have a great meal and treated well. And that's what you get and excellent experience. I'm hooked."
