  • "We were there for my birthday and they really went above and beyond to celebrate my birthday. To my amazement, a menu with Happy birthday XX and amazing free dessert. They even took a picture of our family and made a card of it. The meat was very high quality though I would have preferred a little seasoning but after salt and pepper they tasted excellent! Everyone in the staff was so friendly made us feel at home. Thanks for the memorable birthday celebration."

I just thought for the price and for the upscale reputation, they would put more effort into their ambiance...I didn't really hear any music and it just didn't stand out ambiance wise. Also, the waiter was great but he interrupted a LOT to make sure his service was great...it's better than not coming to us at all but there should be a balance.."

  • "Had a lovely dinner here with my husband to celebrate new jobs. Fantastic service from calling and asking hostess if it was okay arrive for our reservation early. Our server was also spot on. Our steaks were made to perfection. Years ago I worked for Morton's in a sister restaurant. They pride themselves on service and this restaurant does not disappoint. Our server knew his menu from start to finish, he returned each time we had a dish to check on us "two bites, two minutes." This is a great place to go with clients or a special occasion. A little pricey but worth it. You won't be disappointed."

  • "For as expensive as this place is I was really not very happy. The steaks were standard USDA beef...not even grass fed. 1 beer, 2 mixed drinks and a coke cost $42...and that is without leaving the bar tender a tip. The only reason I went here was because I had a gift card...I will not ever be returning. Total bill for 4 people...excluding the bar bill mentioned above because we wanted a drink before being seated to eat....was $291...and we left a healthy tip so the total dinner portion was $350. Deserts were good but very small for the $15 price tag...again, there was nothing especially great about any of the food and the price just made you want to choke."

  • "I've eaten at Morton's before, so I knew what to expect. The reservation was a little late but went right on time when we arrived. Food was good, served warm but not hot, and service was very attentive. The side dishes tend to be huge and the steaks were done perfectly if tiny. The wine was the Morton special red rare wine and it was delicious. Unless you have a huge appetite, you could share any side dish so if you order mushrooms, for example, just do it once and share them. If you compare the top three-- Lawry's, Ruth Chris, and Morton's--I put these restaurants in that order. My experiences with these restaurants stretch over 30 years and four states, and I must say, time pretty much has stood still. Make it a special occasion."

When we were seated, my guests were pleasantly surprised to see the menu wishing our fellow diner a happy birthday. Very nice touch! Great food, excellent service!"

  • "My husband and I found ourselves with a free night away from our teenage children. We had not tried the Morton's in Northbrook and were delighted to get an early reservation. Being gluten sensitive, I noted this in the comments section on Open Table. Morton's was the first and only restaurant that delivered a gluten free menu to me without my having to ask. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable. Everything was timed just right. I will definitely look forward to returning to Morton's."

  • "It's been 40 years since I was last at a Morton's Steakhouse … and I probably won't go back. The food is fine, but the prices are way out of line (HIGH) … but you know that upfront. It's amazing to me that high priced steakhouses continue to be built in the Chicago area and not that many go out of business. It was Valentine's Day and I had a Gift Card, but the experience was overall disappointing. I had a much better meal with a cheeseburger and tater tots at a local bar two nights later … for a FRACTION of the price."

  • "Great evening of friendly service and delicious food, just as we come to expect from this restaurant. I could have stopped at the wedge salad, my absolute favorite salad, but I had to stuff myself with the surf and turf special -- just the right amount of food to stuff your face without completely exploding. My wife and I ordered different salads, apps, and sides and shared. Really tasty. We both commented that the steaks were well seasoned but not oversalted like many steak houses. Well done!"

  • "I have been going to Morton's since I first went to Morton's in LA in the early 1980's, then to Morton's at State and Rush and now in my neighborhood. Each time I have dined including last Saturday everything, was done just right. I started with the Morton wedge salad, single filet,and crab cake, shared the wild mushrooms and hash brown potatoes and ended with the hot chocolate cake. Each element was flawless. Great and dangerous to have Morton's in the neighborhood."

  • "I called the restaurant ahead of time & spoke with a pleasant young lady who told me they had a prix fixe menu for $44/person. The menu included one of each for both of us: an appetizer, main entree with accompaniment and dessert. I had the Caesar salad (full size), 6oz Filet with creamed corn and creme brûlée. My husband had the tuna tartar, 6oz Filet (with an extra side of seasoned button mushrooms), horseradish mashed potatoes and key lime pie. The filets were cooked perfectly; the potatoes were ok (not used to horseradish & they were a little dry), the creamed corn was delicious, tuna tartar was awesome; desserts fell flat. Baileys & coffee wasn't good either (maybe coffee was too strong?) Service was friendly, but lagging."

We ordered the off-menu fillet special that came with a large salad of your choice, a 6-ounce fillet and seafood option (we ordered the shrimp and crab cakes), a side dish (we ordered the sweet potatoes and broccoli), and a desert (we had the chocolate cake and key lime pie). Although the sweet potatoes were a bit heavy on the brown sugar, the meal was superb. At $59 per person, it wasn't cheap, but when you consider the quality and quantity of the food, it was a relative bargain. I would strongly recommend this restaurant, and the fillet special in particular, for special occasions."

  • "Morton's was good for our party of six. The bar area was just right for a steakhouse. The area was very modern, but with the warm old-fashioned feel of any era. The servers were very efficient and professional. The food was fantastic. Presented nicely with a good balance of sauces, vegetables, and meat. The seafood choices were more than adequate. The Chilean Sea Bass was tender and flavorful. Don't overlook the colorful card of "limited time" specials. The sweet potato offered was the best I've ever had. Whipped, glazed, and served as a side dish, it was enough to pass around the table. Get plenty of sides to share, they are worth the extra money."

  • "I was given a $50 gift certificate so it was an chance to try it. In general I prefer smaller restaurants. The bread was average, the steak good, but I felt overpriced. The $13 glass of Malbec was good, but usually Malbecs at this price do not disappoint. The lemon souffle for dessert was probably the best of all. The $190. for 2 persons (including tip) should get one a more interesting meal!"
