The waiters were very attentive without being obtrusive. The menu choices were varied and the portions generous. Although a bit pricy, it is a reliable restaurant for an above average dining experience. They treated each table to a photo as a special rememberance of the day. It's a classy restaurant and everyting in there is perfect. It has a romantic atmosphere and I will recommend it to couples who want to celebrate any occasion. We were seated promptly when we arrived, the wait staff was very attentive and the food was great. My daughter asked one of the waiters a question that their teacher had assigned them on Friday (she's in sixth grade) and the waiter gave his answer then later returned with a printout of the answer after he had googled it. The steaks were the best we've had so far and the wine selection was expansive. We are on a year long quest to eat at every steakhouse in Manhattan and Morton's is our fifth but now ranked number 1 in our database. Very impressive decor; prompt, friendly and knowledgeable servers; and fabulous food. The wine list is impressive, if a bit pricey. A wide array of interesting (and excellent) salads. The sirloin and filet mignon were cooked perfectly. Fabulous desserts - the key lime pie is superb. The bar area was a bit noisy at first, but quieted down by 8:30 or so. We'd go back in a heartbeat. As we were spending a week in NYC we would like to experience again the Morton's moment.
In brief : for us Morton's is definitely one of the best steakhouse we know northern America and Western Europe combined!

The chopped spinach salad is perfect. The lobster bisque way way too peppered for my taste (choking hazard). Chocolate souffle was a bit egg-y. From the time we checked in with our reservation to the time we received the final bill everyone was as gracious as the food was delicious. We were celebrating an anniversary and Morton's took the extra mile by comping us a dessert and also taking a picture of our group at the dinner table which was printed and given to us during the meal.
They've recently expanded the menu which offers new options and there truly is something for everyone if you wanted something other than steak. One person got the Shrimp Scampi in our party which was fantastic.

I think it's the Chopped salad and includes a bunch of delicious things (egg, tomato, avocado, cucumber, bacon, bleu cheese crumbles, onion(?)) and the perfect amount of dressing. The hot bread and whipped butter is a bonus. My friend got a salad with one of the lunchtime add-ons (chicken, seared tuna, etc.). He mentioned that it was a perfect combination and he was not over-stuffed. Everyone is professional and lovely (good personality) I am not surprised to see a lot of men at a steak-house, but as a woman I could not have had a more charming experience.
