  • "Four of us went before a show to celebrate my husband's birthday. We got the earliest booking, 5pm, as the show started at 6:30. I told them multiple times that we were pressed for time, but unfortunately they didn't pay much attention to it. We waited a long time to order, and to receive the bill and pay. We did make it to the show, but by running and we only had a minute to spare before it started. We didn't even get to stay at the restaurant for dessert. Also, my sister's filet mignon was cooked well done at best, when she ordered medium well. But, they did give her her meal for free, as we didn't have time for them to make her another steak. However, the food was amazing, and the service was great other than being a little slow."

  • "I thought the food was overpriced for the quality. If I am spending $50 on a steak it should melt in my mouth and it was no better than one I could make at home. We ordered the Mac and Cheese as a side dish and it tasted processed as well. I can name a dozen other restaurants within a mile of Morton's that have better food for 1/5 the price. I will never go there again."

  • "We had a lovely dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our table had birthday confetti and they took a photo of us and presented it in a Morton's folder. The only slight disappointment was the wine. We asked for a reference from the sommelier (who was also serving food and seating customers) and she pushed the Raymond Primal Cut that was made especially for Morton's. The taste was flat and not complementary to the steak. Other than that we had a lovely time."

  • "I went with here for dinner on my birthday with my parents. We asked for Medium-Rare for 3 different steaks. One came out medium, one came out medium-well, one came out VERY well-done. Complained about the well-done porterhouse, and they cooked a new one. The outside looked great, the inside was purple. Complained again, they cooked it a little more and it was still more rare than we liked, but it was passable. Fortunately they gave the porterhouse to us for free after that. Only consolation to a mediocre (Applebee's-esqe) dinner that was pretty expensive."

  • "Everything was exquisite in my opinion (even loved how the table was pulled out so that we could be seated comfortably). The steak was delish. The portions were more than enough. Great attention to detail. If you are celebrating a special occassion, please inform them ahead of time, they will customize your dining experience. A bit pricey but worth the ambience, good food and a very attentive waitstaff. Can't wait to return!"

  • "I am a frequent diner at Morton's and have eaten at other Morton's more than 4x this month alone. This was my first visit to the Hartford location. We arrived early and were asked to wait in the bar and the hostess said she would come get us. 10 minutes after our reservation we were still waiting despite many empty tables. We ordered the seafood app for 3 ($75) salads and entrees w/ 2 sides. The seafood app was 3 oysters 3 shrimp a crab leg and some lump crabmeat. The salads were soggy and entrees were awful and had been sitting under a heat lamp. After a long wait to get our entrees the waitress said our Mac n cheese side had been burned and we would have to wait for a new one. More than 30 min wait for each course with no apology!"

  • "I would not recommend this restaurant. The service was awful and the food mediocre. My steak was very undercooked and then when sent back came back extremely overcooked, tough, and dry. It is very expensive to eat here and I felt like I was at just another chain restaurant."

  • "My husband and I went to Morton's for my birthday and we used a gift certificate we had. We started with drinks in the bar while waiting for our table. We were seated a little late but the wait was worth it. Since we wanted try an app, salads, sides, dessert etc we shared a steak. It was perfectly done for each of us! Overall, the food was delicious, service was excellent and a very special night! A nice touch was when they came and took a picture and gave it to us wishing me a happy birthday!"

  • "Our evening at Morton's for my husband's birthday was lovely. All the food, cocktails and wine was absolutely stellar. We loved the personalized menus and the photo we got. The only thing that put a damper on our night was the Valet. We had to wait forever to valet the car. Then when we finished, our car was waiting at the curb but the valet was nowhere in sight and it was cold. We stood out there for awhile and then went to head back inside. The valet stand was empty so my husband looked on top of it to see if our keys were there and the valet came running out of an adjacent building and started yelling at us and asking what we were doing. He clearly had seen us standing out there the whole time but only came out when we touched the stand"

  • "A friend recommended this over our usual steak place in Hartford. My wife and I were not impressed. Food was good, but not special. Portions were small and incomplete. Ambiance not intimate and interior of the restaurant was nothing special. Yes I understand it was restaurant week and they were busy with the fixed menu. But to me this is the time to show off and bring people in. Except I don't think I'll ever go there again. The steak was cooked per order, but only came with mashed potatoes, pretty boring in my opinion. We feel for the money, there are other places to go for better everything."

It was my anniversary, and since it was the staff treated us very wrll with a menu printed for us saying happy anniversary, they took our phoo and made a card saying happy anniversary, and gave us a dessert on the house. It was far more than we were expecting, the service was excellet, the food was excellent, and I highly reccommend it to others."

  • "This was not my first time dining at Morton's (Hartford) but, it was the first time for my guest (Frank). Even though we had one hour for lunch (had to return back to the office for a 1:00 meeting), he described Morton's as a "getaway". I said to Frank, i never heard going out to eat described that way before. When i thought about it, I totally understood. It was not only about eating, it was the service (from the time you walked in the door), the food and, the ambiance."

  • "I went to Morton's The Steakhouse for the first time with my husband and son for the Taste of Hartford. We all ordered steaks. It took a long time for the waiter to come to our table and for the food to arrive. When the food arrived the steak sauces were absent and came when we were more than half way done eating our meal. My steak was on the rare side and was suppose to be medium. My son and husband were almost done eating when it arrived. WHO SERVES INSTANT MASHED POTATOES. They were awful. So the food was disappointing to say the lease, the service was poor. I can not recommend this restaurant."

  • "Maybe my expectations were too high? Ordered steak on a sun evening and I ordered medium, got a purple center not pink. Mac and cheese was ice cold in center. Pork was undercooked. Wine was good. Salad was good kinda small but it was taste of Hartford week. Cheesecake was good but no garnishes. Just very basic. I won't go back"

  • "A group of co-workers and I went for lunch, and we were all impressed. The prime burger may just be the best burger I've ever had. It was outstanding. The matchstick potatoes were reminiscent of pomme frites in Paris. I also loved the homemade salad dressing on the Morton salad. I will be back."

  • "We typically stay closer to home even on date night but the taste of Hartford got me thinking and the price was right. The food and service were great. I stayed with the prefixed menu and ordered the chili glazed salmon and my husband went off menu and ordered the ribeye. Both entree were so great. We are already talking about going back. I would say if there are more prefixed dinner specials we would more often."

  • "First time during Taste of Hartford. Special menu with appetizer, entrée and dessert for $28.14. Ambience is wonderful -- romantic, sophisticated. Meal?? Warm, fresh bread -- delicious. Appetizer/ salads -- only 2 dressings offered -- blue cheese and thousand island. Wedge salad had chopped tomato, egg . Mortons salad was iceberg lettuce, little romaine and nothing else .Salmon and steak were good. Dessert - Asked for no whipped cream on key lime pie. Slice arrived completely naked as if we bought it at Big Y -- very faint lime taste. Glass of wine in spotted (due to dishwasher?)glasses-- $11 each. Coffee/tea - $4 each. Parking at State House Garage very reasonable at $2/half hour. Would definitely not want to pay full price."

Service was outstanding, my only comment was that we were only given the menu for the special meals during restaurant week , not the regular menu. We were first brought to a table in the corner of the second dining room & when I said I preferred to be in the main dining room we were seated there. The steaks were excellent and the rest of the meal was very good."

  • "3 of us had the cheeseburger - hands down the best burger any of us have had. Included matchstick fries that were awesome, and a french onion soup or salad, always good. And dessert, all for $20 for restaurant week. But that burger, hard to describe but it was incredible. Nice lunch! Always great service and a nice setting."

The steak was succulant, the wild mushrooms were great, the Somm had great suggestions for wine, and spent time with us discussing wine. A Very enjoyable evening with my wife. Favorite 3 items of the evening: 1.) Tuna Taco App 2.) 2010 "The Prisoner" Wine 3.) The Chicago Bone in Ribeye (Med Rare of Course) Only complaint, The Martini was great but at 14.95, a bit steep, the side of scallops to compliment to the steak was $19.00. Not that much considering we bought everything and spent alot. Again worth every penny."

  • "What a delicious meal we had at Morton's in Hartford. The crab cake ordered by my wife was as good as any we've had, and we used to live in Maryland where good crab cakes are found everywhere! I had a spinach salad with bacon dressing that was absolutely wonderful as was my lamb! We'll definitely be back soon!"

  • "This is a great place to take that special someone to celebrate that special occasion; they accommodate and recognize your special event with the names and or experience on your own personalized menu's, decor appropriate to the celebration, photo keepsake; and a complimentary desert. The staff and service were top notch, our appetizer that wasn't to our liking was replaced and removed from the bill, that's exactly the type of WOW experience we should experience when things aren't as they should be."
