The service was also very good, but not great. This is definitely a traditional steakhouse. Mortons knew it was our anniversary...everybody at the restaurant ... receptionist , maître'd, waiter, and server all wished us a happy anniversary. Our menus were printed with the occasion, date and our names, they took a picture, printed it and gave to us at no charge, then served us a wonderful meal. Help staff perfect. Water, bread, butter, mid-course cleanup. Palate cleanser would have been nice. We judge by bread and butter. This plentiful-warm-beautiful, negs to presentation (plate size puff)and taste (onion bread). Merlot, filet, chop salad, carrot cake, coffee - perfect as expteced.

The ambiance setting was cozy with it being lightly dimmed. The Cajun steak was to perfection(no need for steak sauce), the Grilled Jumbo Asparagus was very tasty as well as the Macaroni and Cheese with Bacon Bits(suggested by our server) and the Chopped Spinach Salad was delicious. Needless to say the Carrot Cake was AWESOME! (once again suggested by our server). My friend totally enjoyed every minute of her dinner as well. After sampling several very disappointing downtown restaurants on a recent visit to Atlanta, Morton's became the choice for our last evening. We're pleased to say it met our every expectation & more. In fact, my companion & I agreed we should have made Morton's our place of choice from the beginning, thus sparing ourselves the many earlier disappointments. Atlanta's downtown is a drear place over-populated with mediocre restaurants. Morton's stood out like a pearl on the beach. Do yourself a favor: Skip everything else! Start & end your stay with Morton's. Be prepared to throw away your per diem limitations & sit back & enjoy truly fine dining in downtown Atlanta.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe hostess was not what youThe hostess was not what you would expect when it comes to being friendly and outgoing. She definitely was not either and almost encouraged our group to head for another restaurant. Not new to Morton's, our group found this surprisingly cold hostess a bit of a surprise. This negative vibe carried over into the pre-dinner conversation. Me personnally, I've just had dinners at Morton's in Houston and Chicago in the past month and enjoyed them enough to have dinner at Morton's in Atlanta.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall Morton's was a goodOverall Morton's was a good place for our dinner, outside of the rather annoying and extremely obnoxious group at the next table. We had to repeatedly ask them to tone down their language and volume of their voices. Management was very relutant to address the group, because it was a special weekend. Food was excellent, drink was outstanding and service was above and beyond great. If it was not for the unfortunate seating next to this rather disturbing group next to us this restaurant was have deserved a full recommendation, but due to the management's lack of controlling the group's language and volume I can only recommend the restaurant with a strong warning to the management to better control disruptive guests.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the best dining experienceThis was the best dining experience I've ever had.
