  • "What happened to the Morton's of old where they made it a special occasion by showing the diners the beautiful cuts of prime beef, sides and desserts. Besides the service, eating at Outback is a better steakhouse experience. My $54, medium ribeye steak came out thin and with a tiny sliver of light pink in the middle and was drenched in what tasted like beef broth. With excellent steakhouse choices in Denver, they are going to have to up their game or go the way of Morton's on Belleview...closed. We will not go back. Two good things, the wine list and our server, Jan."

  • "This was an important special occasion dinner. Overall the food and service lived up to my high expectations. I was surprised about it being noisier than I thought it would be and one of the two steaks we ordered was over cooked but was still excellent. Also our reservation was for 5 and the door was still locked when we got there. It was a cold and windy day so waiting outside was disappointing. I would still give the experience a 9 out of 10."

It had tomatoes and spinach in it - something that was not identified when you order the appetizer from the menu. It was also too greasy to handle."

  • "We had a lovely dinner out for my husband's birthday. I reserved online in advance and our menus were titled "Happy Birthday, Mike" Nice touch. The manager(s) greeted our table and our server was attentive. We took advantage of the valet and coat check. Negatives: When we finished our meal, our plates sat in front of us for at least 10 minutes. Several servers/bus staff/managers walked right by us several times. Finally, I asked "Joe" the manager to please bus our tables. The ladies bathroom was clean, but there was toilet paper all over the place in the stalls, and the toilet I used was broken (wouldn't flush all the way). For an upscale restaurant, some detail to the facilities would benefit the overall ambiance."

Management came by on more than one occasion to see how we were doing, which was quite refreshing. Our wait from getting our drinks, to actually ordering was more than fifteen minutes, which was not good, but overall it would not keep me from giving this a Five star experience."

  • "Went for a private and romantic dinner. Arrived with ease and valet was incredibly efficient. Went inside and was greeted politely. While we waited for a table (only a 4 minute wait - 10 minutes ahead of our reservation) we were approached and greeted personally by the general manager who was absolutely personable and friendly. Once seated, service was in perfect timing with great narrative from our server who asked if we were first time visitors (we were) and explained the process and highlighted key menu items and making good suggestions. Excellent all the way around - was only caught off guard by the energy, thought it would be a little more quiet, but with an 8:30 pm reservation, it calmed down within an hour."

They get away with it because they have been around for so long and it becomes a prestige thing to say you went to Mortons."

  • "For the price and the reputation, I expected a lot more. Every few months we hit one of the high end steak restaurants, and this latest visit cements Morton's firmly in last place. It was definitely good, but not great. Located in a basement that hasn't been redecorated since the 80's, it's just not a great experience. The waitress was great. The steak was good, and though I ordered medium rare and they brought medium well, they did fix it. In the end, I think it's worth about half the price they charge. Atmosphere was nice, but no comparison to Shanahan's. The food was good, but for the price I would expect something great. Go to Shanahan's, Elway's CC, or Del Friscos's instead - they all have great atmosphere and fantastic food."

The service was good( we were their only table) but not crisp like an expensive steakhouse should be. Our food was just OK but for a $45.00 steak and a $40.00 "surf/turf(short ribs and scallops) was a bit over the top for what we experienced. There are many high end steakhouses in the Denver metro area and the next time I spend $155.00 for a steak dinner, I will try another restaurant."

  • "This was my first time at Morton's, though I have been to other high quality steak restaurants (Elways, Del Frisco's, Ruth's Chris when it was here). We went on New Years eve and had both managers come up and talk to us which was very nice. That being said, there were issues. The first sign of trouble was the bread that came out burned and inedible. Most restaurants I wouldn't care about this, but I expect better from a place like Morton's. The rest of the meal can be summed up using the same expression, I expected better from a place like Morton's charging the prices that they charge."
