It has become our new favorite restaurant when we visit Atlantic City (about twice a year). Not really a gambler, so after a small amount of time on the slots we get bored and would rather explore the shopping, food and entertainment aspects (Which, btw, are dwindling in AC).
Our first and second visit to Morton's were both excellent. The food was cooked to perfection, the staff was professionally attentive, and we had a great meal.
The mixed grill (fillet, shrimp and scallops) is my standby. But next time I want to try one of their signature steaks. The macaroni and cheese and their onion bread is fantastic! He made the entire night. He was there everytime we needed him and the rest of the time he was invisable. Anthony pointed out some additions to the menu and gave an excellant explanation of each one. We had several special request and Anthony got everyone of them perfect. He is a lot of fun while remaining professional. The hostess greeted him with Happy Birthday and the menus had Happy Birthday at the top as well as a keepsake. Everyone was very friendly, polite and service was impeccable. Food was out of this world, I had filet mignon and it was the best I have ever had. Highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion. The meal I had was a combo of filet with 2 shrimp and 2 scallops. The filet was delish, but the shrimp was little and dry. Also, we had a debit gift card and they said their card scanner denied it. My husband sent an email and complained and the Manager did call him back to apologize. They will take the card but up to 80 percent. At least they called us. It was incredible. The restaurant is beautiful. We were greeted with warm and friendly smiles. We didn't have to wait and were shown to a wonderful table. Our waitress was very personable and extremely knowledgable about the menu. Our dinners were fantastic. We will definitely be dining their again. I had the filet and it was very good....though I did think the porterhouse had better flavor. The ahi tuna tower was very tasty and light for an appie. We were seated right away with personal menus, the wait staff was fast and friendly I have to say this was one of the best birthday dinners I have ever had. Had the porterhouse and fillet side was cooked medium as asked and for some reason other side was almost well done. Manager did offer another steak and declined. A bit pricey as you are paying 4-5 dollars more for side dishes than other locations and about 10 dollars on a steak. I would suggest asking for the 3 course special that they do not show on the menu. Best bargain there. The reason I would not recommend Morton's this time is the price. Since the last visit about nine months ago, the food and drink price has risen substancially. The six ounce filet is now $42.
