Diner Reviews
  • "Our server was nonplussed that we asked for the Restaurant Week menu, and seemed to warn us against ordering items more often than recommending in favor of them, but overall, can't really complain about the experience nor the food. Great steak and everything else."

  • "Cocktails menu is bad, high prices for terrible choices. Wanted a Prime Rib French Dip sandwich which the waiter said they did have and never have had, even though I had one in there before for lunch. He still insisted they have never had prime rib sandwiches, so I ordered something else. Pulled up the Morton's lunch menu online and sure enough the sandwich I wanted was on there, so much for them "never offering it". The waiter tried, but the entire evening felt like we were speaking two completely different language. I have no reason to go back."

  • "Although the service was good, we felt like we were down treated because we ordered from the restaurant week menu instead of the regular menu. Our restaurant week experience has been much better at some other restaurants (and we eat out a couple of times every week)."

  • "Went to Morton's Arlington for restaurant week. Went early (5:30 pm) to take advantage of happy hour. Had to sit in bar area in tall chairs to take advantage of drink specials, $7 glass of good wine. Noise level was high. Servers tended to pay more attention to the regulars. Had to request bread. Slow to refill water glasses. Salad, filet mignon and dessert very good. Side of creamed spinach pricy ($13), and not to my liking with nutmeg."

  • "My wife and I dined at Morton's during DC Restaurant Week. It has been 40 years since I've eaten at a Morton's because I'm really not a steak person. This Morton's is in an easily accessible area and parking is very convenient. Our filet mignon was the best we've tried but the accompanying salad and vegetables were quite ordinary. The small desserts were very good. This cut-down version of a Morton's dinner was probably not the best way to judge the restaurant. I'm sure other meals would have made a greater impression. I'm glad I tried Morton's again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to dinners who enjoy steak but I doubt we will come again."

  • "When I called to ask what was on the restaurant week menu (because it was not posted on their website) I was read their special Summer Finale 3-course menu which was not the same as the menu we were handed. The meat was not as perfectly seared as I have had before, my mashed potatoes were cold (they replaced these when asked), and the key lime pie was "ok". I just felt maybe their heart wasn't into this restaurant week meal."

  • "Always wanted to go to Morton's so used Restaurant Week to try it. It was ok, but I've had better steak. Very expensive, and not really worth the price."

  • "Pacing of service was terrible. Waited 30 minutes for appetizers and 20-25 minutes for main course after salad. Had to send steaks back because they were stone cold. For the price I expect everything to be perfect for a not so busy Saturday night."

  • "Morton's provided the best Birthday Surprise ever! From the moment we entered till the time we left the staff was excellent the service superb and the food top shelf. The table was decorated and the special touches from Happy Birthday on the menu and the birthday wishes from the staff made it a special night."

  • "Food was excellent, although a tad pricey. We had the summer special which was a big savings, which really is the only way I could justify coming to a place like this, lovely though it was. (They even charge more for their iced tea than other places.)"

  • "No Maitre D' at front counter when we arrived. I finally went into the main office to find someone to sit us. After waiting a long time for service and drinks we ordered 2 filets, both medium rare. Larger cut came out medium to well done. Ate it anyways because I didn't feel like waiting. I know I should have sent it back. I just expected better when ordering a $40+ steak from Mortons. Also dark and dingy location. Ruth Chris in Crystal City is a much better choice."

  • "I shall start off with the negative since there is only one -- That being the new management I found rude and lacking. This is one of my favorite Morton's and ever manager up until now has been friendly with the crowd. If this manager does not want the store to go downhill fast he better learn to come out and speak with his customers. Now Travis behind the bar has always kept my wife and I happy little folks. A friendly and local bar feel with the elegance and charm of what you expect from Mortons. Chef has done tremendous job in the kitchen and I am a new 'lover' of the crab cake sandwiches."

  • "Dined on a Tuesday at 7:00 PM. No one at reception desk. Ate in bar where service was slow although there were only two other groups eating in that area. Food was OK but not on par with other Morton's. Should have walked a block further to the Ruth's Chris."

  • "This particular Morton's dining experience was a surprise celebration for my daughter's 21st birthday and from start to finish it was simply perfect. George, our waiter was honestly the best waiter I have ever had- I mean ever! He was knowledgeable about the menu, he was extremely friendly and had a great sense of humor. He was also very attentive, it was like we were his only customers. He was absolutely great and made our experience even better. The food was great, the same large portions I remembered from past dining experiences. Everything was cooked to perfection. The valet staff was also quite friendly and had our cars pulled up in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend this location to any one!"

  • "Recently took my wife for Morton's Lobster Night. Salad and lobsters were excellent. Lobster bisque seemed a little thin. Service was also very good."
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • "We love Morton's for providing a consistently excellent dining experience. Offering a fun $29 2lb Lobster night really kicked the summer off nicely! Ben took good care of us, as always. The watermelon salad was very fresh and lovely. The lobster was cooked well and the matchstick fries are a treat. Another great evening!"

  • "MORTEN'S is a steakhouse cafeteria because thats the way you will feel. Its staff is really low rate but that is because of poor training which is the result of weak management. Bussing tables using large grey dish pans??? Are you serious?! At 40-50 dollar steaks, Mortens attempt to enhance their standing by offering reserved wine lockers is a neat upscale idea, bit the staff is poorly trained, uncomfotable opening wine, not very communicative and this destroys their efforts to be a high end, high quality, high standard steak establishment. Oddly, their food is pretty good, but for the love of steak, can you hire personalities to go with your product. And being busy is no excuse at these prices. Morten's/Denny's has got to fix itself."

  • "Morton's is a high price, high quality restaurant. I enjoy Morton's food, & am willing to pay the price on a special occasion. On this occasion, our main entrees was delivered before our appetizers. A couple of minutes later the waitress arrived, collected the steaks & stated that "the kitchen staff never listens to me". The appetizers were delivered. The steaks were placed under a heat lamp, within our view, where they sat for one half hour. Just before re-serving, the steaks were placed under the grill for re-heating. This is not the quality experience I expect from Morton's. I've always preferred Morton's over Ruth Chris, Jeff Ruby's or other large, high quality chains. This experience did nothing to sustain that preference."

  • "We were celebrating with our grown children a couple of recent events. Morton's was a perfect place and didn't disappoint us. Great food, service and atmosphere. Although it was a full house that evening, it was quiet enough that we had no problem carrying on a conversation."

  • "Morton's in Arlington is a great place for a nice dinner. The food is prepared the way you prefer. The wait staff is outstanding. They have several managers there to make sure their guests needs are met. The restaurant itself has a good layout. You are not sitting right on top of others. They had several seasonal deals running this past weekend. The only thing I would like to see them change is their chicken offerings. Now they offer two chicken dishes but both are sauté . I think they should have some sort of grilled chicken or lighter chicken dish. That way there would be a healthier choice for non meat eaters."

  • "We spent our 45th wedding anniversary dinner with the wonderful staff at Morton's in Arlington. They went above our expectations in making every aspect of our night a very, very special occasion, and we thank them all."

  • "Food is just ok. Service is average not thing great. I have had much better steak and service at other restaurant for less money. I was not disappointed but not impress either. For the price we paid I think Morton is just acceptable."

  • "I cannot speak higher of the staff and chef. The food is always to my liking and they know how to make a romantic husband/wife meal enjoyable and handle a client dinner."

  • "Everything was tasty. Spent $200 for 2 people even though we ordered no dessert and only 1 drink between us. Masculine decor, low light but not too low. Would have been nice if beef had been grass-fed."

  • "Our server was terrible and the food mediocre (was given the wrong steak, shrimp was over cooked, scallops were gritty). No interest in returning."

  • "I wanted to treat my most important client to an excellent dining experience. Morton's was the right choice. All of the food was fantastic...particularly the Filet that I enjoyed. Especially note worth was the Raymond's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine list noted that this wine was crafted to pair beautifully with Morton's steaks. It absolutely does !!! I will definitely recommend Morton's to all of my friends. "

  • "For the price Morton's is better than the Palm. They offer more choices and the ambience is much better. I had been to a different Morton's and wasn't very impressed. That Morton's had closed, so I decided that our group would try this Morton's in Arlington. Ruth Chris, The Palm and Morton's are all basically in the same price range. For me the best choice is Morton's. They have the best offerings for food and desserts. No one in our group drinks, so I can't comment on the bar offerings. The food ordered came as requested. Two people ordered filet mignon, one wanted it well done and the other medium rare. Both were pleased that the filet mignon came out just as they requested. Sometimes what is requested isn't what you receive. Here it was."

  • "We both had a great time and really enjoyed our meal, the service was top notch our server was very informative and was very attentive with out being a bother. The restaurant was not very crowded so the noise level was not an issue at all my only complaint is that there was a family sitting across from us a husband, wife and a very small child and they were taking pictures which I have no issue with but the fact that they were using flash and it was pointed in my direction meant that I was being blinded by the flash every time it was fired; that was a little annoying. Note: that it didn't last too long but other patrons need to be considered. All in all we had a great meal and will dine in this restaurant again. "
