A word from Morso - NYC
Morso is a culmination of a life in food and a passion for culinary excellence. Thirty years ago Pino Luongo, brought the then unfamiliar flavors and culture of authentic Tuscan cooking to New York City. With the essence of his homeland at heart and a truly original style of cooking, Luongo shaped the Italian menus and restaurants we consider as classics today. For Morso, his values and passion remain unchanged. Great, seasonal ingredients, skillfully prepared, shared with family and friends. Taking little bites of inspiration from all over Italy and the Mediterranean, combined with Pino's finest signature dishes; Morso represents a quintessential dining experience—authentic contemporary cooking in a vibrant and relaxed setting.

Service poor. Waiter forgot to put one order in. When dish came - veal scalloping- meat was so tough it could not be cut. This was replaced with a mixed sea food dish in which half of the items were hard and not good. Drink forgotten til reminded.

Have been there several times over the last two years. Find the whole experience excellent in all aspects. I have no criticism or complaints. Loved the ambience, the food, the service. Good vibe. Had a dish that we had in Rome last year, Bucontini e Cacia e Pepe which was excellent. Highly recommend this place. It is a find.

45 minutes after our appetizers and no entree. We had to ask the server about it. He should have been on top of it and the kitchen screwed up. Although the food was good, not sure if we would return. This shows poor management.

This neighborhood restaurant has it all. Good food, attentive service with a casually sophisticated atmosphere. The wine list is small and more than adequate with relatively modest pricing. ALWAYS a pleasure to dine at this restaurant. Also, the owner Pino Luongo has been there every time I have been there. Another great sign of "quality control".

The service was wonderful and attentive. The summer salad special was delicious and the cacio e pepe pasta was perfect - tasty, but not too heavy. Just the right portion size. Such a pleasure to dine outdoors, and not be right on the sidewalk amid all of the traffic. Close your eyes and you are in Italy. Delightful!

It seems like I eat at Morso at least once every other week. I have introduced more people to this restaurant than any other. The food is excellent, ambiance is very good, service nees to be worked on. 3 times we were served other peoples meals. Somehow, I don't want to complain. I'll just hope the practice and get it right. I'll be back probably next week.

Too often neighborhood places are well, in the neighborhood--meaning their great strength is convenience. Morsi is a really good Italian restaurant that offers fine foodm good wine selection, personable service. And the half portions (full size available too, of course) means you can sample a bit more widely without feeling gluttonous. And in the warm weather, like now, you can eat on the broad terrace under Cinzano umbrellas--albeit with a view of the side of the 59th Street bridge. Still, close your eyes, and you can imagine you are somewhere in Italy on a terrace overlooking the Med. Only the occasional truck in need of a new muffler will spoil your dream.

I have eaten at Morso's on several occasions in the outdoor area and found it delightful but on Wednesday evening it was most unpleasant There were at least 6 dogs and I assume with their owners, some quiet, some not so quiet, some on owners laps and being fawned over I find taking ones dog to dinner quite rude. I am a dog lover, but find sharing dinner at a lovely restaurant most unpleasant. Our server Michael was not at his best I spoke to the hostess who informed me dogs are very welcome!!!! I will return because the food and ambiance is lovely and the service is usually quite good I hope there will no dogs at dinner

We tried two of the specials for the day: grilled sardines on a bed of cooked fennel, and skate served with Tuscan fries and greens. Both were some of the best we've ever eaten. The salads were imaginative. One of us had a salad special of nectarines, peaches, avocado, greens, and feta cheese, the other a salad of cooked summer vegetables. The outdoor dining is in front of the restaurant, separated by planters from the sidewalk, across from the Ed Koch Bridge. Pleasant enough. There was the constant hum of traffic noise from the bridge but very little traffic going along that part of 59th St.

The brunch food was very good. It only took 50 minutes to get it -- and the restaurant was half empty! Took 15 minutes, after we sat, for our waiter to bring over menus and water. Seemed as if they were interns from another country with the lack of speed and confusion.

The fish is delectable. ...fresh and well prepared...the pastas yummy. However on a steamy summer night, they had the door open to feed the diners sitting outside so it was uncomfortable and sticky inside, the tables are so close together that you have to strategize how to navigate to the restroom, the service was very slow (we got our meal an hour after ordering) and it was too noisy.

We have found Morso to be very consistent and delicious each time we dine and this week did not disappoint. We sat out on the ample patio--cool and shaded on a nice evening--and enjoyed our courses all at once since we had our three-year-old with us (a good diner, but you don't want to chance it). The menu has changed since we were there last and we found the Tagliolini alla Buttera to be particularly delicious. Rich but not overpowering with just the right mix of sweet and spicy sausage. The carciofi salad was also perfectly acidic. And the house-made ricotta and popovers that they bring when you sit down are always a crowd pleaser. For the neighborhood, the price is not outrageous and we are sure to return again and again.

This was such a disappointment due to a party that was scheduled. We could not hear ourselves talk. The manager was inexperienced and not gracious. She just acted like it was too bad that we could not hear ourselves talk. Dinner was a good deal of money. The manager should have offered us something to give us the incentive to come back. But she was too inexperienced to know how to be gracious.

Morso has amazing food, great waiters, and a nice atmosphere. Even if it is a little out of the way, it is worth the trip. The only shortcoming is that the greeters are a bit rude. The first thing we heard once the greeter appeared was that one can only eat outside if it is specifically requested when making the reservation and that we could eat at a different restaurant if we didn't like it--and this was before we even said whether we wanted to dine inside or outside. Everthing else was spectacular. If you think you might want to eat outstide though, I guess you should plan ahead.

apparently what was once a neighborhood secret is no more- Thursday night the joint was jumpin! - I of course am not surprised the food is superb, the service great and the chef/ owner Pino Luongo knows how to extend hospitality to every diner. We had the Cacio e pepe pasta - one of my favorites there and as always it was great and not to be missed is the Timpano - the eggplant wrapped baked pasta - one of the best italian restaurants in New York
