  • "You would think that because Morell's is located at the Rockefeller Center, next to NBC studios it could be a tourist trap but it is not. Wine list is excellent (unless you wanted wine from Portugal which they didn't have). We sat outside on a beautiful sunny day. Hostess was friendly and attentive. Food was good, although we (party of 7) went mostly to drink wine. Only complain would be that our waiter looked a bit annoyed that mostly had wine. If you mind tourist looking at you like a caged zoo animal, get a indoor table or sit at the bar, ambiance and service inside is great too, specially at the bar."

  • "Be aware of the napkins, they leave noticeable white marks on black trousers. Food was OK."

  • "The food here was beyond superb. The wine list is extensive and a product of people who know about wine. The staff bends over backwards to accommodate the customer. I will return again and again and again! The BEST!"

  • "It was just remodeled and the décor was nice and clean. Service was wonderful and gave my friend and I a chance to catch up. Not too noisy and food was just right. Good place for business meeting too in the Rockefeller Center area."

  • "The servers were very nice and accommodating. The food was relatively good for a touristy area. I would say the menu is limited and the place is more for people who want to get a drink with little finger foods."

  • "Nice view of Rockefeller center Great wine list. Service slow"

  • "This used to be a sneak away treat. A pretty setting with vast wine selections and yummy food. Not anymore. They were out of my first three wine choices - the food was in edible and the staff barely cared. We were in and out in 30 minutes - and stopped on way to theater for another meal"

  • "Been coming here for yrs. from Philly. Will & Jusus' rock!! Wine bible is terrific, food great, location on Rock Center perfect & outdoor lunch super nice. Food is very good but we come back for Will & Jesus' and the fabulous wine!"

  • "On a wintry Saturday, Morrell Wine Bar and Cafe provided a tasty meal of soup and salads (the warm Brussels Sprout salad is especially good). I'd give this place a higher rating if the bread were more interesting. I'm kind of a bread freak and Morrell's is pretty ordinary. We had the featured Chardonnay and enjoyed it very much."

  • "The waiter was rude and pretentious. The wine was good, the cheese tray mundane but the warm olives we ordered were wonderful. The pumpkin brittle on the cheese tray was interesting, very spicy. The prices were fair considering the location in Rockefeller Center but, for wine and cheese, we will go back to Beecher's which had better cheese and nicer ambiance."

  • "My husband and I were looking for a nice place to go after visiting New York at Christmas. Morell is located right across from the Rockefeller Center. It was very pretty inside and Christmasy. A little pricy but great for special occasions. The food was delicious, especially the entrees, the dessert was only okay. My husband got the steak and loved it and I had a great vegetarian meal. The menu is very vegetarian friendly. We would go back again!"

  • "This is the second time I have been at Morrell Wine Bar. Both times the food was somewhat bland, but not unpleasant. The number & variety of wines by the glass is the only reason i would go back. Next time I will go just for wines & appetizers. If you are looking to expand your wine experience, I highly recommend this place. You can try a huge variety of wines, kudos to the sommelier for all their work on the wine list."

  • "It was packed in the front bar when we entered and I worried our res would be lost or that we would be squished in among the revellers but we made our way in to the hostess and were seated promptly. The staff was warm and friendly and provided me with a varied gluten free menu. Nice large wine list too. The bustle of the front bar was easily ignored in the dining area and our food and wine were great! It's right in Rockefeller plaza, has great food and service and I will definitely be back."

  • "Had a lovely, lovely time at the Morrell Wine Bar & Cafe with a friend on Christmas Eve. Great location…close to Rockefeller Center Tree and very nice room…had an upstairs table which I would recommend…wait staff was very helpful….The special ravioli of the day was to die for and the Pumpkin Risotto won the day for me!!! A few glasses of a house red were a nice touch as well…."

  • "We had dinner at Morrell the day after Christmas - wanted to take a quick trip to NYC to see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center and enjoy the holiday spirit. Found Morrell on Open Table and loved it! They actually had wine from the Finger Lakes region of New York on the wine list, which is unusual and a treat. Ordered the pumpkin risotto and spaghetti carbonara, and warm olives enjoyed every bite. Would definitely return!"

  • "This is such a great spot in Rockefeller Center. Whether you are people-watching, grabbing a glass of wine before a show, or just want a nice bite to eat that isn't fast food, Morrell's is terrific. You won't be disappointed!"

  • "Great food, wine and view. Service was also very good. Very small and noisy. Not a place for a first date or intimate conversation, but perfect for a lively, good time and excellent view of the Rockefeller Christmas tree. I visit every year!"

  • "I went to Morrell to celebrate the holidays with a colleague. We were a bit early but we had reservationas and the hostess seated us since we frezzing from enjoying the Rockefeller tree and store lights around Rockefeller Center. I had the hot Morrell muddled spice wine and for my entree the delicious cod. My colleague had the chicken and that too was delicious. We sat upstairs at this cozy establishment and could hear and see the vibrant and energetic crowd at the bar. Threre are chairs outside that is utilized in warmer weather. I would definately go back. Great service."

  • "We picked this place because it was within walking distance to Radio City. The bar takes up most of the downstairs which also takes away from any romantic or scenic view. We were seated downstairs and it happened to be cold outside so every time the front door opened we would get a flash of the cold air. People had their coats on inside eating their dinner. The appetizer plates are small and the dinner entrees were regular size but over priced. We don 't mind paying for good food and even expected it to be a little more because of their location but we tried 2 pasta dishes, pork tacos and a steak none of them were anything more then a standard restaurant and double the price. Will not go back again."

  • "Ambiance was energetic. There was a sizable bar crowd at the bar at it was a little loud but not disturbing. It's Christmas in NYC what's better than a bottle of red wine and a delicious bowl of pasta? Food was good. Service good. I would def go back."

  • "A little too busy to just plan to drop by. Thanks goodness we made a reservation for this crowded wine bar! Service was spotty. If you don't want the constant noise and draft coming from the front door, request to sit on the 2nd level."

  • "Small menu but you can't go wrong. Reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. Wine list was extensive but the sommelier was very helpful and allowed us to taste multiple wines before we decided on a bottle. Excellent service and comfortable seating. Definitely coming back!"

  • "This is the second time I've booked Morrell on the way to the Tree in Rockefeller center. Nothing like eating several delicious appetizers, enjoying a bottle of red, sampling delicious, finely prepared entrees, and dabbling in a waiter-recommended butterscotch pudding. The only words of caution are: the place isn't huge, so seating is a little tighter than what you might prefer. Not in-each-other's laps tight. There was a loud table of females which I lovingly referred to as "squawking crows", and the sound definitely reverberates in this place. Those aside, I would wholly recommend this place, and I thinks it's the best choice price wise and proximity to Rockefeller Center. Spent 150 and tried pretty hard, $40 bottle of wine included."

  • "We went to NYC for the day and ended up making reservations at Morrells for an early dinner (4:30 pm) and it was perfect. The sun had set and you can see the Christmas tree through their picture window. If you were to dine there on a nice evening, you could dine on the patio and people wath people at 40 Rock. The wine list was superb, the service staff was very attentive and the food was scrumous (sp). The bar scene was crowed and very energetic. It appeared to be mostly a middle aged singles scene. However, it was never noisy, as we sat in the dining room. A great New York experience! I would recommend it."

  • "For more than a decade, my friend and I have been lunching at Morrell's once a year when we travel to New York City for a shopping day in December. We continue to relish the wonderful food and wine and look forward to returning annually. We have never been disappointed with anything we have ordered. The food is always fabulous, but this year may even have exceeded others. The hanger steak salad is delicious. This year my friend enjoyed the squash soup and pulled pork tacos. I am a crab lover and would highly recommend the crab crostini at Morell's. And, of course, topping it off with chocolate truffles for dessert fortifies us to continue on with our shopping adventures."

  • "The food was DELICIOUS. Waiters appeared to take turns waiting on the same table and were often standing on the side. They neglected to see if I wanted more water three times when my glass was empty. The meal for two was extended bc they were not attentive to our table but the food was so good that I'd go back for it"

  • "My 20-something daughter and I met for a bite before a show and it was perfect: small plates, a nice glass of wine, and quiet table for two allowing conversation. I would recommend this place!"

  • "Having eaten outside or stood at the bar at the front window, we were reluctant to sit inside. If you get the table we had ( for 4 or 5) in a round booth in the rear right on the main floor, you will be happy. The view facing forward out to Rock Center is lovely; wall murals, art and view of outdoors....very unique. Nice service and unremarkable but very good food of all types from pasta and risotto to chicken and fish."

  • "A perfect place to stop for lunch on the way to a Broadway matinee. Sat at the bar, looking out at the Rockefeller Center and people watching. Great wines by the glass. Papardelle with mushrooms, and kale sale with pumpkin were excellent!"

  • "I found the prix fix lunch "just right" in terms of portions and tasty food. The wine list by the glass needs a few more selections for each kind of wine, but the Chardonnay choice was superb! Tighter than usual quarters. It is a small place."
