Diner Reviews
  • "We have eaten at Moro on a few special occasions and have been delighted. When I suggested to a group of eight that we eat there for restaurant week I assumed that the experience would be just as great. The service was very good and the food was delicious however the portions were tiny. My husband ordered the scallops for his main course and there were only two on the plate, my salmon was about two inches long and the pork medalions were equally as small. I wish they had told us about the portions size of the restaurant week special. We would have ordered from the regular menu. I doubt we will return."

  • "Whether it's a date, a birthday, an anniversary, a family gathering or just a night out with friends, there isn't a better restaurant in Wilmington, Delaware than Moro."

  • "I took my sister for her birthday and we really enjoyed the experience. It was the first visit for both of us. I picked this restaurant because it was on the list for Wilmington's Restaurant Week. The selection for the 3 course meal was great!"

  • "We had a party of 6 and we all ordered the 6 course meal where the chef chooses. Everything was fabulous and everyone left happy. The service was outstanding."

  • "This is a great place for a romantic dinner. Great food!"

  • "First time at Moro over a year ago had a wonderful experience. Disappointed this time. Had a variety of the small plates Cheese plate - wonderful, good variety from mild to pungent, nice fruit and bread pairing. Shrimp - nothing special. Fried chicken - dry and salty Tuna tartar - nice presentation, but taste was just average. Arugula salad - so heavy on the vinegar it made my eyes water. Service was good and the round tables make it a good place for romantic dinner or small group conversations."

  • "We hadn't been in Moro for years, restaurant week came along and we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was very noisy, and the waiters were rushing around. This didn't set a relaxing atmosphere for dinner. The food was good, we were finished our three courses and were out the door in about an hour and 15 minutes. A little faster than we thought it would be."

  • "the Food Was Fantastic. Bbq Shrimp And Grits Are Amazing. The Server Was Not Very Good Though. He Seemed Very Disinterested And Uninviting. I Was A Server For Years And Sadly He Was Lacking Personality Or Just Didn't Care. Too Much PotentiaL In everything Else To Allow That To Go on"

  • "Been to Moro a few times, its a nice place for a special night out. We especially enjoy the tasting of variety small plates Moro offer. This time we were very lucky to have Mathew as our server, he was great! The food was ok, not great this time. We were disappointed of the recent menu change. The menu offered very limited selections which made the meal less enjoyable. We'll go back again but not until more options are added back to the menu."

  • "I always love Moro's. I return again and again for a great time---alone or with someone. This latest visit was no exception. The wine and the steak were to live for!"

  • "Excellent professional service during our leisurely 2+ hour meal. I appreciated the pacing from the kitchen and we were never rushed. Cocktails were delicious, although the list is riffing on the same few ingredients. Our vegetable plate starter was beautiful, interesting, and plentiful. The special additions to the menu sounded more interesting than the menu items, and we ordered mainly from that. Main courses were kind of big, certainly don't need 3 lamb t-bones, and they come with minimal sides. We made up for that with vegetable oriented first courses. The dessert selection is pretty good, although I'd like to see another chocolate option and home made crust on the pie."

  • "Moro is one of our all time favorite restaurants. It is definitely one of the top dining experiences you'll enjoy in Wilmington and we love to go there whenever possible. Whether its a special evening for just the two of us, or a small table with family or friends, the Moro menu offers a wide array of creative and perfected contemporary cuisines. The waitstaff is always informative and pleasant, and the selections are always impressive no matter if you choose a special or mainstay on the menu. Get ready for a new addiction to amazing food and wine at Moro."

  • "Moro is a neighborhood gem for cuisine, but poor service will make me think twice about rushing back. We had to ask the waiter to share the specials, the bread wasn't brought out until after we ordered our meal and finished a round of drinks, plates were cleared but fresh ones weren't brought out with our truffle fries, which are clearly for sharing. Why are serving utensils only provided upon request?"

  • "Really disappointed for the money we spent the food could have been served hotter is seemed like it sat for a long time before getting to the table. Had to wait over 10 minutes to get our bottle of wine and that was after we asked a food runner for it. Restaurant seemed very understaffed to get the level or service you expect when paying those prices for a meal. Probably will never go back to this establishment"

  • "Everytime I visit Moro it is a great experience! The food is always excellent, and I always make it a point to try something new. This time it was the roasted cauliflower. I'm not a huge cauliflower fan but this dish definitely made me reconsider. The service is always excellent, and I've never had a bad experience with that aspect of the restaurant. All the servers seem very knowledgeable, and can answer most any question that's thrown their way. Moro will always be my spot for special occasions, or even just a nice night out close to home."

  • "My wife and I were in town and made a reservation here for the 4 course tasting, paired with wine and it was out of this world! The chef(s) were very creative and talented with what they presented to us. My wife and I both agreed that that was one of the best meals we ever had. Our server Matt was excellent as well."

  • "Our server, Joe, had wonderful suggestions for us, as we were torn between so many wonderful dishes. We started with the antipasti, which was great. The fried chicken small plate was a nice addition. Scallops and Porkchop entrees were perfectly cooked. Timing was right on and not rushed. We can't wait to go back!"

  • "This was my first time here and I used a Groupon. Great little find. The food was great, as was the service. I had the half chicken, which came with grits and garlic spinach...awesome. Hubs liked his salmon until he tasted my chicken. LOL He also had the fried oysters, which he raved about. I had the small plate w/ angel hair pasta and rock shrimp. It smelled kind of funky according to my husband, but I thought it was awesome. They make this tasty Moro punch that is non alcoholic. They make their own focaccia also. I wish I remembered my server's name b/c he was really nice and helpful. They remembered my note that it was my husband's birthday and the hostess told him happy birthday. Dessert came out on a happy birthday plate with a candle."

  • "A foodie gem in a neighborhood spot minutes away from downtown Wilmington. Moro is a treat for the senses serving inventive but accessible food to couples looking to get away from it all for a couple of hours. Ask for a semi-circle booth!"

  • "After not having been to Moro for at least a year, I was happy to have dinner there a few days ago. The food was great as I remembered however the service for drinks a bit slow (10 + minutes from ordering to serving) however think the bar may have been a bit backed up. I will definitely not wait another year for my next visit."

  • "Food was good. Service OK - had to ask for water several times - a pet peeve. Server never introduced himself and was very business-like - not distant just not very friendly. He did not make us feel as welcome as we usually do at Moro. Certainly will be back."

  • "We ordered 12 oysters. They were not cold as not served iced. Three of the four sauces were awful and lacked spoons to get sauce onto oyster. The last oyster we had was noticeably(smell) bad. We pointed this out to the server who was uninterested.in our comment. I eat out a lot and would have expected an offer of the manager's attention. We would have been happy to simply be offered 1 replacement oyster. I have had minor complaints in chain restaurants and diners and received more attention. This lack of response was really disappointing. We still tipped the sever 20% but reluctantly. We did not see a comment card or we would have filled it out at the ab."

  • "We were extremely happy with our experience at Moro. The service was nothing short of impeccable and the food was "lick your plate" delicious! There were 5 in our party, including my 11 yr old son and everyone LOVED every bite at the table. We all ate some of each persons plate and there was not a complaint in the group. The beer and wine list was excellent and had a good variety. The ambiance and decor was lovely. Everyone from the hostess, manager and all wait staff were polite and friendly. Our server had extensive knowledge of the menu and was able to describe in detail all the dishes and specials. Our evening was absolutely perfect! Two days later and we are all still talking about our food and drooling at the memory."

  • "The food at Moro was essentially tasteless. The scallops did not have much of a taste at all and the beef did not have much of a taste either. The Sorbet for dessert was also tasteless. The food was definitely overpriced. I would not go back to Moro. Both of us had the same opinion."

  • "The food and service have never been less than great. Go eat here, bubblehead."

  • "My only complaint is that I requested a booth and we were taken upstairs to a table. We were then taken to a table/booth that was very dark. We ended up back downstairs, in a booth with a window. That was very nice. My husband enjoyed the filet and I had the best salmon I've ever tasted. We will definitely visit again. Thank you!"

  • "Atmosphere was romantic, comfortable and quiet. Service was excellent. Drinks great! Hard to decide on full meal or small plates because both had great sounding choices. Waiter was very helpful and we went with a few small plates to share between the two of us. A salad and four fantastic food choices were spot on. The Lobster dish and a uniquely prepared Brussels sprouts dish were both unbelievable. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommended"

  • "This is the second time we've gone, and we were not diappointed at all!! The food was excellent. Brussel sprout salad and salmon were fabulous. My husband got the specials and loved them! The server's wine recommendation was spot on for us. Our only complaint is that they were out of a lot of wines so the list was limited. But we ended up loving the wine we got, so it worked out! Can't wait to get another date night out to go back there!"

  • "I surprised my husband with an overnight in Wilmington (we live in DC), telling him to meet me at the station with an overnight bag :). Moro is such a find! It is intimate, with a wine list and menu to entice even a foodie such as me (I've lived several years in France). We found the service and the ambiance warm, caring and unpretentious. It's a hidden gem!"

  • "Short and not-so-sweet: We were very unimpressed. Foodie friends of ours all had great evenings at Moro in the past but ours was uninspired and far too expensive for the overall experience (or lack thereof). Not to mention, their phone system is atrocious! You are forced to listen to their endless "greeting" and instructions twice before being able to leave a message and ... when they called to confirm our reservation, the young woman "confirmed" a wrong time so I was forced to call back and correct her! And yes, I had to endure their phone system again!"

  • "This is our third time at Moro and we love their changing menu. Some of the best sellers stay on the menu (tuna and avocado and truffle fries), but others are changed seasonally. Their signature cocktails are all fantastic."

  • "The meal was outstanding however the service was a bit slow and the waiter/busboy was not very attentive to our empty water glasses. I will absolutely go back as one server does not make the decision he may be gone the next time. Moro has a great vibe and the food is amazing!"
