Diner Reviews
  • "Excellent food and very unique dishes. Nice atmosphere"

  • "Excellent as always. Special attention to detail and attentive service, delicious dishes. One suggestion: wedge salad could be larger. Seemed skimpy. What I had was delicious but for the price, should have been larger."

  • "A dear friend of mine dined at Moro on a Tuesday night and were very thrilled with our food and the service. We opted for the 4 course tasting menu and were thrilled with everything. Each course was unique and filled with vibrant flavors. This is a wonderful restaurant that deserves repeated follow ups to taste all the great offerings that come out of its kitchen."

  • "My wife and I recently dined here for our 15 year wedding anniversary. We had a perfect table waiting with two glasses of champagne ready. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back!"

  • "The ambience was good except the table was too far away when I sat back in the booth. I could bearly place my hands on the table and I'm 5'10" tall and have a long reach. I had to sit at the edge of the booth in order to reach my food comfortably."

  • "Always great! And this past Saturday was no exception. In fact, it was an extra fun time. The people who came in were all in a great mood, and we all shared lots of stories and fun as we ate at the bar (singles and couples). It was just one of those great nights that came together for everyone. The food and wine was delicious, as always. Note to regulars: Jim is back!"

  • "Every dish tastes better than the next. After I leave your restaurant my taste buds are tingly for hours. Your Chef is fabulous and your servers are very attentive."

  • "Moro's Kobe pork chop is outstanding! It was "pork chop heaven", always a great meal. Just wish they would put steak back on the regular menu!"

  • "Moro never disappoints. Love the small plates & the variety"
    Dined on 7/11/2014
  • "At 6:15 not only were they not accommodating when we asked to move tables (before we even ordered drinks) but it was almost 40 minutes between courses and at least 25 minutes for our drinks to come."
    Dined on 7/11/2014
  • "We went with a Groupon, otherwise the prices would have been too high for us. The ribeye was incredibly tender and flavorful. The red fish had crispy flavorful skin. The server was attentive and we went early and had it to ourselves."

  • "This was not our first time here, the food is AWESOME, as is everything else about Moro. We will be back again!"

  • "Joe, our waiter organized presentation of our 5 dishes for a relaxed progressive meal. Each dish was carefully prepared and delicious. Highly recommend the Antipasti, Tuna Tatar, and Roman logs. Yum."

  • "I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem in Wilmington. There is definitely a food artist at work here and the freshest ingredients were used. The food was exceptional and the service was excellent. I've recommended Moro to 10 friends and family members that live in the Wilmington area. Can't wait to go back again."

  • "They don't rush you. The food is wonderful and in just the right proportions. You are not overwhelmed by the size. The drinks are wonderfully priced, beer $5 and martinis are $12 for a large glass. Bottled water is always offered. If they run out of something, the substitute is equally as good."

  • "This restaurant was recommended to us and we heard it was great. Has the potential to be but when we went we were told as soon as we sat down that they were out of 2 of the 6 "large plates" or entrees - we placed our order and the waiter then came back and told one of us their selection was also not available. So half of their entrees were unavailable. On top of that the waiter was competent but seemingly uninterested in us or the restaurant being out of items. The food we did get was pretty good. But overall it wasn't worth the hassle"

  • "The food at Moro is excellent. Our entree choices of baked pork chop and braised short rib were delicious. They were, however, our second choices because their regular menu item of scallops was unavailable. Also disappointing was that several of the listed wines were also unavailable. The service was pathetically slow. 45 minutes after being seated we finally got our drinks. First course served an hour after being seated, entrees took almost 90 minutes to appear. The wait staff appeared to be scant and overworked."

  • "Food was very good, service was very good. Little bit pricey, but otherwise a great dining experience."

  • "We had a lovely evening ... for once, we were dining in a room filled with adults!! The room was energetic and filled with conversation .. not whining, crying or shouts. The special fish .. tilapia ... was very nice. And the special appetizer ... whipped ricotta .. was a perfect start. We enjoyed the tilapia, but a suggestion -- the plating was bit bland, needed some color. We will be back."

  • "This was the 30th time my wife and I have eaten at Moro's in the last four years. You must decide whether we have escaped from the Burger King College of Haute Cuisine or that Moro's is indeed fabulous. We always choose the tasting menu and the matching flight of wines. We have been treated to cuisine that is more culinary art than mechanical execution of recipes. We have had dishes which leave us speechless in the balancing of flavors and textures. One night we were served a hot cheesecake with mushrooms as one of the courses. Truly amazing. If you want to go out and get the same old same old with a twist of "avant garde", go somewhere else. If you want fabulous, imaginative cuisine, go to Moro's. It is unforgettable."

  • "Our first time visit with many recommendations from friends. Food was great, really fresh with diverse selection"
    Dined on 6/26/2014
  • "My only complaint was my portion size of the lamb chop entree. Only got 2 lamb lion chops along with a oniony quiche looking thingy. Not enough for a meal platter. Otherwise, appetizers and my wife's Branzino fish dinner were excellent."

  • "I dined at Moros' for my 50th birthday and as always, it was an enjoyable dinner. The food is fresh and the service is superb. I had the scallops and my husband had the pork chop. Both meals were very enjoyable. We also had the gnocchi which was prepared. The chocolate tart was worth the calories and is served with fresh cream topping. I recommend Morro's for any special occasion or for a nice evening out."

  • "Although the food and service were very good. The wine list was non existent. Surprising for a restaurant who had quite an extensive wine lists. No one knew why, including the manager or were not saying. Leaves the appearance of a cash flow problem, but, who knows?"

  • "Moro was excellent. We were greeted warmly, shown to nice booth, and the service was prompt. Gin Martini featured blue cheese stuffed olives and they are always appreciated. Food was pricey but very imaginative."

  • "Although the restaurant and waiter were nice, I was disappointed in the food. The escargot was delicately spicy although it was not mention that it was spicy. I had the special pork medallion dish which when described sounded very good. The pork medallions were extremely peppery to the point, it was not enjoyable and the marsala sauce was just on one medallion and just dribbled on the other pieces. I told the waiter that it was really spicy ( which was not in the description) and could I have some of the sauce from the chicken dish (which my husband had and was very tasty). He brought me the sauce which was a different color and was very salty. We have eaten at Moro's before and have enjoyed it."

  • "We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Moro. I put that info in our reservation, and we were greeted at the door with "happy anniversary". Our waiter knew as well, and our delicious Mango Creme Brûlée had a candle in it. The food was delicious. And, my husband wanted the short rib with all the sides that go with the chicken, and the kitchen was happy to accommodate. Everything was delicious. The service was excellent. All in all, a wonderful dinner."

  • "Appetizers were outstanding but the main coursed were terrible! I ordered lamb chops and was brought 2 pieces on neck slices instead! 2 pieces for $28 is ridiculous! The meat tasted very old also. The other people I was with all ordered different main courses and they were all mediocre at best. I told our waiter that this is not lamb chops, he apologized and offered something else instead. I then heard another waiter tell the table next to ours that they are out of lamp chops. Why was I not told this? Desert was horrible too. Ordered the crème brule - was runny like water. Another guest ordered the rice pudding. The rice was completely undercooked. Couldn't they try it in the kitchen before serving???"

  • "after reading all the reviews I was expecting to be wowed but I would give the meal a B food was ok but nothing knocked my socks off dessert was disappointing sorbet was more like a granita"

  • "The chefs specials are outstanding and unique on flavor. We first tried this neighborhood gem after seeing a coupon on Groupon. It is now our favorite restaurant where we celebrate all special occasions."

  • "Been to Moro twice in past couple months. Both times have been a treat. Will definitely go again. The food is excellent and so is the service. Loved the corn risotto. It's a beautiful restaurant and is great for a romantic evening or a special occasion out. I hate chain restaurants and believe we need to support local businesses like Moro - especially when they are so good. Parking is a challenge, but you just need to leave yourself some time for that."

  • "Second time back to Moro and everything was superb yet again. The Burrata has been my favorite small plate that I have tried and I will keep getting it every time I come back a long with trying another new small plate (we share two small plates). My girlfriend got the special, branzino, and she really liked it. The bites I had were very good. I had the braised short rib, it was very tender and could cut it with a fork. Then it came with a parsnip puree, which was heaven. I loved everything about both our dishes. This is a perfect gem to eat."

  • "This was the second time I've eaten at Moro, and it was again fantastic. They clearly take great care in the food and your experience of it, with excellent advice from the waiter. We stuck to the shared plates and small plates (sharing those), and it was all outstanding -- though perhaps the pork belly and the shrimp were the two highlights for me."

  • "love to eat in this restaurant, the menu is always very good but they also have a variety of specials and they are done perfect. The variety of salads makes you want to try them all and the main course I had the fish of the night and it was the Bronzino which was a big portion and prepared and served in an attractive plate"

  • "We went to this restaurant 2 Saturdays in a row. The food was a drop off from the previous week at which time we were quite pleased. Secondly, the wine list was presented and about half of the selections were not available. On our second visit, they played all Billy Joel the whole time. I like Billy Joel but not for an hour and a half. They would be better off playing soft classical music in this kind of restaurant. I had a Kobe Pork chop on my second visit. While the Gorgonzola sauce was good, the pork chop was pretty bland. My wife's scallops were good. My impression was that the restaurant is using inventory in preparation of closing. If that'a not the case, they need to step it up."

  • "From the request for bread that never materialized, to the martini which finally arrived 1/2 hour later, just in time for desert, service was inexplicably erratic. Hard to understand since we had an early seating and it wasn't a busy evening. Food was, as usual, very good."

  • "The cheese board appetizer was outstanding along with our entries of pork chop and wild salmon. Mango creme brulee was also outstanding. Waiter, Cedrick, was knowledgeable, efficient and courteous. Will return soon and often."
