Morgan's in the DesertOMGThis is truly a gem. The food is wonderful, the cocktail selection is mouthwatering and the wine list and service is impeccable. This is by far the best restaurant in the desert. You HAVE to have the beet salad. it's the best I've ever had anywhere. They have wonderful entertainment in the bar, and you have to sit outside by the fire for an after dinner drink. Morgan's is a vacation in a vacation. Service was attentive but wish he would have explained how big the sides were,
steaks are $38-42 with no sides. We ordered sides, salads and should have been
clued in to the fact that sides should be split. We ended up with an enormous bill,
an enormous amount of extra and a little bit of resentment that we wish our waiter

Offerings include inventive small plates such as grilled rock shrimp or sirloin carpaccio, as well as large plates. While the menu is not large, it includes a nice range of vegetarian, seafood or meat options.
The only item that differs from day-to-day is the soup selection, poured tableside. I had the roasted cauliflower soup with mushrooms - excellent!
Our service team was led by Salvador, who was fantastic!

Preparation and presentation were top notch. Wine list was adequate and we found a good Californian Cabernet after our selection of a good Bordeaux was not available. Even if they indicated by a mark on the list which wines were no longer available it would have been helpful.
We did not reserve an out door table and were told they were all booked up. There were still open tables 2 hrs after we were seated!

Everything about our dining experience was A+. The Bradshaw martini is delicious yet frightfully strong....don't order too many of these! The Caesar salad was one of the best I've had, the greens so fresh & crisp and the house made dressing was perfectly done. Our steaks were sizzling and flavorful. Unfortunately my husbands NY was overdone but it was replaced quite rapidly with one that was cooked to perfection. The manager came over and gave his apologies and offered a complimentary dessert to make up for it, which we gladly accepted. We requested our server, Kim, again and she was as adorable and wonderful as our first experience and even remembered us. We didn't add any of the crusts they offer and they weren't needed. The steaks were flavorful and cooked to perfection. Our server Kim was delightful and added to our wonderful experience. She even brought us a special dessert to commemorate our anniversary. The food is very good and the service is friendly, albeit a bit uneven. Servers should always bring steak sauce to a table when the meal is served, they should not have to be asked. Side dishes should also be brought with the main courses, not a few minutes later.
This is a beautiful spot and we will come back.
