Diner Reviews
  • "Window table for six was reserved and open at 7:15. Waitress was professional and manager stepped in to exchange two flounder almondine entrees for broiled. Thanks."

  • "This restaurant has a lovely view of the water and docks, and the outdoor seating is probably nice in good weather. However, for the prices charged, the food is just average. Both the crab spread appetizer and the crab cakes were mushy and fishy, and the NY strip was chewy with a balsamic sauce that didn't really complement the meat at all. The seasoned rice had an odd flavor, and the unidentifiable green vegetables were very onion-y. The Caesar salad was ok, and the she- crab soup had good flavor but was not very hot. One bright note was the vanilla bean creme brûlée-- really really good. Not a candidate for a repeat visit."

  • "We had a table by a huge floor to ceiling windows that overlooked the waterway. Absolutely gorgeous especially during sunset!"

  • "Perfect for an outside cocktail but there were four of us and we all had different items, none of us impressed"

  • "Wonderful restaurant. We ran late and they honored our reservation though I heard them telling others there was a 90 minute wait. Good thing for them the restaurant is on the Inter-Coastal Waterway with a beautiful view. We had four different meals and two different deserts and everyone raved about their selection. This a great alternative to the downtown Charleston restaurants that can be hard to get into and more expensive. Enjoy!"

  • "The Bloody Mary bar was a hit with some of our friends. We arrived right at the peak (it seemed) of brunch-11:30am, but we were seated promptly. Service was a bit slow, but we could tell they were busy. But after it took almost 50 minutes for us to get our food, it was apparent that something had gone wrong. Our waitress stopped by at one point and said "there were a few large parties ahead of you". Well, since the large parties in question were the same number as ours (5) and were seated after us and had their food arrive well before ours, I can only assume that our order had become lost somewhere. The food was good - standard brunch fare."

  • "Sunday was grey and cloudy, but the service at Morgan Creek was warm and friendly. The food and drinks were delicious and abundant. The view was spectacular! I highly recommend the restaurant for a great place to entertain friends!"

  • "Extremely busy so all in all, staff handled well. But not as good as we have had in the past."

  • "My boyfriend and I ate here over the weekend. BE SURE TO MAKE A RESERVATION! We filled out a reservation on Open Table and in the comments requested a seat by the window. Morgan Creek confirmed our reservation and said they would do their best to seat us near a window... and they were able to! The view was fantastic, the server was PHENOMENAL, the food was out of this world. There was a live band and a more casual bar downstairs and outside. I loved my experience at Morgan Creek and will continue to eat there whenever I am in Charleston/Isle of Palms area!"

  • "We had reservations at 7:30. We were not seated until 815 and this was through several persistent requests on our part. They finally sat us at a table outside on a chilly night when we were basically the only guests dining outdoors. This waitress was unfriendly and basically ignored us. The food was decent but nothing great. We needed refills on our drinks, condiments etc. and never got them as the waitress only came out to check on us three times… once to take our order, once to bring our order and then after we sent someone in to retrieve her she brought our bill. Didn't understand why we bothered to make reservations when we had a 45 minute wait anyways."

  • "Morgan's Creek offers a lovely location at Isle of Palms Marina, with wonderful evening views. The interesting menu provides a good choice of sea food and land options. The food and service were both excellent, as was the wine. Our server "Griffin" was both attentive and efficient, making it a very enjoyable experience."

  • "It was 5pm, our 27th wedding anniversary. The scallops were perfect-my husband likes his shrimp cooked less but they were still tasty. Olga was very sweet and a great waitress. Thanks for making our night out truly special."

  • "Coming from Wild Dunes, the location was excellent! We had reservations and were seated almost immediately and the wait staff were wonderful. The food was served in a good amount of time and was very good."

  • "Food was great, but one of the noisiest restaurants I've been to lately. Not much the restaurant can do about it... just a really noisy crowd that night."

  • "The young lady named Alexa I think did outstanding job waiting on multiple tables and gave good recommendations for the food. She is a great asset for your restaurant. The food was very tasteful also. This was our first visit but we will return when we visit the Isle of Palms in the future."

  • "Over the years this restaurant has had its ups & downs, and once again it has lost its quality. Started last fall when they consistently ran out of staples like oysters, even though every other locale on the isle had them. The flounder was mushy and sides were tasteless, she crab watery and minuscule bits of crab. Appears they are more focused on the bar scene than being a quality restaurant."

  • "First time at Morgan Creek Grille and it was an exceptional evening's dining, due to the caring and professional attitude of every staff member encountered. I left a simple "my wife's birthday" request with my reservation. Management was so well prepared that every staff member passed, wished her a Happy Birthday. She's still smiling. We were early, so we had a drink at the bar. Bartender was attentive, friendly, and a good mixologist. They seated us with a perfectly, romantic, window view of the water. Food was as outstanding as the service. Perfectly seasoned. Exciting the tongue, but not overpowering it. Had the 'Local Clams' entrée. Beautiful. Will definitely return. Many other menu items that piqued our interest."

  • "Great views and great staff! We were greeted by random staff and when leaving we were told to have a great night and were thanked for coming in by random staff. My husband and I were at IOP just for quick getaway and I'm really glad we chose Morgan Creek to dine at. We will definitely go back."

  • ". The view was spectacular. The specialty drinks were amazing and the food was spectacular. My wife and I ordered different appetizers and meals so we could try a bite of each other's food. She had a scallop appetizer and I ordered the calamari. Both appetizers were perfect. The scallops melted in your mouth and the calamari was cooked perfectly. For dinner she ordered a seafood combo platter and I ordered the shrimp and grits. I hate to admit it, but I told my wife my food was ok so she wouldn't try my dish. It was so good I did not want to share. Is that bad? I hope she does not read this... Lol. We were stuffed but just had to try dessert. The chocolate cake was so rich and delicious we had to order another piece to take home."

  • "Excellent brunch menu and bar, great view of the water, excellent service and welcoming atmosphere. Our party tried the sirloin tip sandwich, smoked salmon benedict, crab benedict and she crab soup and all were excellent."

  • "The Morgan Creek Grill holds a special place for us. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner there almost 5 years ago, and return just about every Valentine's Day. The Grill is very efficiently run. Even on a special day, which was also a Friday, we were seated immediately. Wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was served quickly and was well prepared. All in all, a perfect dining experience."

  • "The food was wonderful as we had always remembered it was. We were visiting from Virginia and were looking forward to our meal But it was disappointing to have tables with dark green table cloths covered with brown butcher paper that just cheapened the atmosphere. Also we were the first seated for the evening and one of our party ordered the pork chops and a few minutes later the waitress came and told him they were out. Waitress should have known there weren't any pork chops . Like I said at the beginning the food was very good."

  • "Went for Sunday Brunch with a friend. The place was quaint but with a Great View ! We were seated but waited awhile for someone to greet us. We ordered the Bloody Mary Bar (Amazing !!!) and the Mimosas. We had the She Crab Soup and then one Salmon Benedict and one Crab Cake Benedict. The soup was really good with just the right amount of sherry. The Salmon Benedict was Excellent ! wish it had more dill though. The Crab Cake was full of crab but had almost an old peanut oil taste and no real flavor- we were disappointed. We both agreed that we would be back to try lunch/dinner. Our waitress was very nice, so it wasn't completely a bad experience."

  • "They were not prepared for Restaurant Week. We overhead staff saying they were expecting to do 70 covers, but were close to 200 by 8:00. They ran out of one of the 3 dessert choices by 8:00.....and did not offer a substitution. Waiter had a churn and burn mentality. He brought out the check our coffee and dessert. Bartender was friendly and helpful. Want to note that previous experiences were much better. We will go back again."

  • "We had the crab spread app, delicious and the seared scallops app. We all could not stop raving about the scallops, served with asparagus spears, crumbled blue cheese with balsamic syrup drizzled on the plate. Stupendous! We enjoyed the she crab soup and wedge salad; only a little balsamic drizzle would have made that a bit better. The cocktails were wonderful and the entrees were delicious and generous in size, with lots of seafood in them without being overwhelming. The key lime pie was delightful and the creme brulee was worth the trip...the carmelized top perfect, the custard flavorful and light and a generous sized dessert. Our waitress and other staff were friendly and attentive. My husband and I can not wait to go back for lunch."

  • "The in laws were in town so we went here to give them a dinner place on the water. We made the reservation about a month in advance and requested a table near the window. We were told they would try to accommodate us but no guarantees. Well guess what they "planned" out their seating and could not seat us by the window. Well the window seats were occupied by similar sized groups with similar reservations. I doubt any had made their reservations earlier. they did not even attempt to seat us as we requested. That being said the food was good, not great, reasonably priced for this type of restaurant."
