A word from Moonshine Tavern
Who We Are
The Myth & Moonshine Tavern is the brainchild of Shine, LLC owner Shanna Cooper and Jake Millisock. We are proud to serve you the newly legalized modern take on Moonshine while paying tribute to the fiercely independent and rebellious spirit of the original Appalachian distillers.

Our southern influenced American tavern is comfortably casual and historical with creative and “outside of the box” flavors. Our menu was carefully crafted by our acclaimed and award winning cooking staff, and we are proud to showcase the freshest locally-sourced ingredients as a part of each meal.

We seek to emphasize and express our individuality with each dish while keeping the focus on classic comfort food, delicious cocktails, and a carefree atmosphere.

I recently went here with a group of 15 family members to get together for the holidays. We had great service and the food was really good. The moonshine drink list was awesome and we found ourselves trying each others drinks all night.

We were there on a Saturday evening with a vary mixed group of adults and kids, aged 9 to 54. We had foodies in the group as well as a few ignorant eaters (grilled cheese only). Everyone found something to their liking's. The menu is NOT your average bar fare. It is filled with original and interesting dishes, and everything was great; from crab stuffed shrimp on a ceasar salad to grilled cheese with crab. Even the meatloaf was probably the best I had every tasted. The service was great especially with the large table. Many thanks to Chad, behind the bar for pulling together some delicious and original cocktails. We will stop in again, both as a large group or as couples.

Got there about 10:30pm. The dining room was empty but the bar was a little busy. No host to seat us and I could sense our server being a bit annoyed that we wanted a table that late. Overall the food was excellent and the moonshine cocktails were amazing. Everything was reasonably priced. I'll definitely will be back.

We went on trivia night which was super loud and the waiters got a couple of our orders wrong. But overall everyone was really nice and the food was good.

With visiting guests from NYC who can eat whenever they'd like (back home) we were very limited on Sunday night reservations after 9pm but THIS IS THE PLACE. Food was wonderful and fresh, I had the burger which was delicious. I can't remember the bartender/waiter's name but I believe it was Chad - great great guy with perfect service.

We were met by Shanna, co-owner, who could not have been nicer. She had to get the valet for us. They were having a Moonshiner event upstairs. A bit hard to hear him speak. Perhaps an audio system would have allowed all to hear the discourse. We did left the Q&A after a few minutes and dined in the back room with the fireplace going. A warm and welcoming setting. Food and service were good. I would definitely go back. As a resident of Canton, I am glad they are a dining option.

We have been to Moonshine many times for brunch, but this was our first time for dinner. Great burger, outstanding fish sandwich and friendly, competent staff. Meeting Tim was a bonus in the nice area upstairs. We'll be back again.

Great food and a ton of drink options. The flight sampler is definitely meant to share--that Moonshine is strong! They had a quieter table in the back for groups but the bar in the main room was cool and had a good crowd.

Late due to rainy weather traffic, called & Chad said "Please take your time and be safe. We will hold your table." Sure enough, a reserved sign sat on our prime window table We greedily ordered Ocean Spray cocktails (three kinds of flavored moonshine), hush puppies & manchego mushroom flatbread. Hush puppies perfection--crunchy & creamy. Flatbread was lovely cheesy toast points that you slather with decadent mushroom medley. Cajun Cobb is, like all plates, presented beautifully- and bursting with freshness. A special of scallops on a tomato mushroom ragu was luxurious. Chef came out to check on tables! Cocktails for dessert---a russian bride with a hint of cinnamon from the moonshine. Ask for Chad & Robin, masters at the bar & hospitality!

My fiance' and I were really excited about this place after viewing the menu on their webside. Unfortunately once we arrived, many of the items we had picked out online were not on the menu. We were pretty disappointed but were able to settle on two other entree items. The crab fondue-wich was delicious, but hard to finish because of how rich it was. It seemed like it was crab dip between two pieces of bread. The fried chicken BLT was tasty, but the chicken was a little dry. The strawberry chipotle aioli sauce and the sweet potatoes were each amazing!

  • Decent Brunch
    OpenTable Diner Since 2010
    Dined on 8/4/2013
Brunch was delicious, but nothing extraordinary or particularly unique. It was the classic brunch dishes with slight twists. Croque madame came with a sunny side egg up. Chicken and waffles came with syrup (and I think also gravy?) Crab and corn omelet was different, I suppose, but not to my personal liking; if you like crab and corn, it might be the perfect dish. However, the service was great; the staff were all attentive. We had multiple waiters checking in to our table, making sure we had everything that we needed and to our liking. I appreciated the service a lot, so I would consider going again for that alone. If you're in the Canton area, it's a place to consider.

Charming little place with a great atmosphere. We went on a Monday night so they were not very busy and had a delightful time. Menu was good and they offered some nice specials. Hardest part of the night was choosing which set of Moonshines we wanted on our flight. Went with the hostesses recommendations and were not disappointed.

I read the reviews and decided to check out this local place, anyways. We live 1/4 of a mile away and are always on the lookout for a new neighborhood hang out. It took a while for the waitstaff to notice and seat us. Only two people (one bartender and one server) were covering the entire restaurant. Once we ordered -- it took a good forty minutes for our food to arrive. My husband's shrimp and grits were cold. My croque Madame was also cold. We flagged down the bartender and asked that he put the dishes back in the microwave to hear them up. Waitstaff were polite enough but the attentiveness was awful!!! We will *not* return!

This unassuming place has undergone several owners and name changes but someone has finally gotten it right. The menu, while small, is very imaginative, presentation is impressive and the food surpasses all expectations. Stand outs are hush puppies with creamy centers, flavorful chicken and waffles with both spivey gravey and blueberry capote, crab cake served in a unique way and nutty salad. Ask for one of the "patio" seats by the window with floor to ceiling window that can swing open.

Our waitress was amazing! I wish I remembered her name. We had made a reservation, although they aren't really necessary. When we arrived we were quickly greeted and shown a table that even had a "Reserved" sign on it. You could tell they cared. Our waitress made great recommendations and seemed to know a lot about the different types of moonshine. The gumbo I had was delicious! We also did the moonshine tasting which I would definitely recommend since you get to pick out of a large list and get 5 shots. We will most likely be back, and I would recommend this place to anyone looking to try something new.
