MoonFish - Orlandoexcellent serviceI decided to make reservations for moonfish for my husbands birthday and I couldn't have made a better choice ... I called and made sure they knew it was my husbands birthday and I wanted something special done. .. they completely took both of us by surprise when we notice that in our menus said happy birthday angel !!! It was great he felt special... !! Then the food on top of that was delicious !!! He had a oscar mignon and I had sushi ! Loved ittt !! At the end of our meal they brought a huge cake with a candle and the plate read happy birthday angel as well !!! It was absolutely amazing !!! They truly made his day special !! Happy hour sushi at the bar, and the main course in the dining room. Service was very good. The eel and vegetable sushi rolls were excellent, as was the Corvina we both had for out main course. My only gripe is that we really did not find the meal to be a terribly good value. Sushi was so-so, and the only negative I could give. The shrimp tempura roll was recommended, and came with cream cheese, which wasn't mentioned during ordering nor was it wanted. Had to send it back. I would still come back and skip appetizers. We got the fried shrimp, fried calamari and crab cake sampler. The food and service are always consistently at a high quality level. We began our dining experience in the bar with a couple of really good drink and great service. This time we tried the grilled oysters and boy were they terrific. The grouper, oyster, crab entree was also worth mentioning because it was grilled to perfection and very delicious. The only thing we didn't enjoy were the 2 desserts we tried which were the pineapple cake and mango tiramisu. Both were made by an outside bakery and just mediocre. The only negative is that we felt rushed; the wait staff came to our table quite often to ask if we were ready to order, but I had taken important clients out to dinner to relax. On the plus side, the atmosphere was great and the restaurant offered free valet parking. Did I mention that the food was awesome? My mom and I were so excited to get to try a new place. Although we have not tried all of the restaurants in the area, moo fish has catapulted to our favorite. We might dine there a few more times before trying a new place. Everything we ordered was delicious. The yellowtail Japanese pizza was unlike anything I've had before; like eating a sushi pizza.
