Fabulous food great service....will be back again and again5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSo good I am going back for lunchCan't wait to go back for lunch. The food was remarkable. Our server so knowledgeable and accommodating. Could not have been a more fun evening...going back this week for lunch.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMvery pleasant surprisei needed a place for 8 people in a specific neighborhood and this restaurant came up as available. i read a few professional reviews and figured it was worth a try. it far exceeded my expectations. everyone loved everything they ordered, from appetizers, right through the desert. Monument Lane is basically a farm to table restaurant and every dish was extremely fresh testing and innovative. the wine list is just ok, but don't let that stop you from enjoying an otherwise great meal.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunch offeringStandout dishes included the buttermilk fried chicken, grilled ham and fontina and sausage gravy and fried eggs for brunch. Wonderfully attentive service and beautiful dining room rounded out the experience.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, service not exceptionalWe loved the food...relatively straightforward, but delicious nonetheless. I tried to get a glass of wine at the bar before my friend arrived, but I couldn't get the bartender's attention as he was very busy flirting with someone a few feet away, and wouldn't look over at me. The table service was much better...pleasant and helpful staff. I would say it was a little overly aggressive, in that we were being frequently interrupted by multiple staff members checking on whether we were ok, clear plates, etc. Overall, good experience and would go back.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMHad not been in two yearsHad not been in two years but food and service were again very good. Beers are always changing but enough of a variety to pick a good one.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a lovely date here. PerfectHad a lovely date here. Perfect for an intimate conversation without feeling forced romantic; friendly staff are attentive but not overbearing. Food is delicious. Couldn't recommend more!4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMJust GoWe had a wonderful experience at Monument Lane. Our waiter was very nice, helpful, patient and accommodating. I had the trout with fiddlehead ferns, spring greens, and a side of mashed turnips (which were delicious!). Everything was fresh, well prepared, and delicious. Can't wait to go back!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant came recommended,This restaurant came recommended, and did not disappoint! My husband said that his breakfast was the best breakfast he had ever had, and maybe the best meal he had ever had. The atmosphere is pleasing, and the staff were great.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMDependably excellent serviceI've already written a review for Monument Lane, but wanted to add one observation. When we dine there (which is every other week or so), we know we'll have a good meal, but just as important, we feel that we are recognized and we always get excellent service. We're greeted warmly, and the wait staff remember us, what we drink, and what we like. That's not such a common thing in NYC, and we really appreciate it.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place is great! EverythingThis place is great! Everything that comes out of the kitchen is nothing like you've ever had before. I travel from East 87th street to get to the restaurant and worth the trip every time.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAttentive but not intrusiveAttentive but not intrusive service. Interesting menu with slight variations on traditional recipes to create delightful new dishes. New favorite restaurant.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe can't wait to go back.We can't wait to go back. Favorite dish: Fish and seafood soup is off the hook3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great time at MonumentAnother great time at Monument Lane - our group of 5 sharing and eating slowly was accommodated perfectly!!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Saturday Night Meal & DrinksWent on Saturday night with a friend. I was a little bit early, so I got a drink at the bar as I waited for my friend. Bartender was accomdating when I asked for a drink on the menu to be made with Vodka. My friend finally arrived 30 minutes late, so we had to wait for a bit for a table since they had understandably given our original table away. By the time we sat down it was 10pm and the kitchen had run out of several items. We started with the crispy chickpeas - delicious, and the mini country ham biscuits, which sure were mini. I had the Braised Heritage Pork - mushrooms were left off per my request, and my friend had the Long Island Baby Squid. Both dishes were good. Would definitely try the restaurant again.12/1/2012 12:00:00 AM
