Located in the Montgomery Village Shopping Center, Monti’s welcomes you with its rustic Mediterranean ambiance. In addition to different nightly specials from the large wood-fired rotisserie, including CK Leg of Lamb and Liberty Farms Lavender Roasted Duck, Monti’s menu offers both small and big plates that feature fresh local meats and seasonal produce. Also available are pizzas, pastas, salads and a selection of items from the raw bar. The well stocked wine cellar offers an extensive selection of wines, all available by the glass and there is a full bar. Diner Reviews
  • "The wine prices are going up. They used to have lower priced wines,"

  • "There are lot's of great things to report about one of my favorite restaurants in Santa Rosa. Usually every category would get a 5 star rating from me. This time the entree missed the mark. The calamari starter was tender, light and crispy. The Caesar salad was spot on and scrumptious, but the Oak Roasted Half Chicken was disappointing. I was expecting a crispy skinned bird with some jus of rendered seasoned meat juices. What was served looked more like it was braised or a chicken stew dish. It was in a heavy sauce with a 1/4 inch of grease that had floated to the top. The fingerling potatoes were hard to find in the dark fat laden broth and the whole dish looked like it was attacked by super-sized alien carrots, enough for a family of 4!"

  • "Although a little noisy, the food and service were fabulous! And what a great wine list! We will definitely be back!"

  • "A friend & I enjoyed our lunch here, ate outside on heated patio on a cool spring day. Inside was quite noisy. Food & drinks were delicious, service was excellent"

  • "Wine and meals are pricey. Quality is very good, however, do not go there hungry !"

  • "With the mild winter weather we thoroughly enjoyed dining on the patio one recent evening, enjoying the sunset, food and service - great experience and highly recommended."

  • "California is suffering with 70 degree days and blossoms everywhere. Darn! Monti's at Montgomery Village in Santa Rosa is the perfect spot for lunch with a group of friends. We enjoyed the Sonoma Restaurant Week 3 course lunch and every dish was spectacular. Our server was the best. He knew what was needed before we knew it ourselves. Our entire group of 6 was delighted. In fact the outdoor dining was so enjoyable we were there for over 2 hours. Heaven on earth!"

  • "We were here for restaurant week. Every dish was great. Especially the short ribs and pasta. And the creme brûlée was to die for!"

  • "We live down the street from Montgomery Village and have eaten at Monti's at least once a month since they opened. We have had both dinner and lunch here. The food is always of top quality, the service is great and the raw oysters are fresh and always great. Thanks."

  • "Good atmosphere, very good food. Excellent service! We will be back."

  • "Food is always great, but the wait staff almost seemed like they didn't want to be there. As a foodie I like the staff to engage me about the meal and wine selection."

  • "We arrived for lunch ahead of the lunch crowd and got an outdoor table right away. It was a beautiful day so the outside heaters were not necessary. I had not seen my friend for sometime and it was nice to get alittle conversation in before the waitress arrived. She took our drink orders and have us some time to figure out the menu before we ordered lunch... We gabbed a lot to catch up on things! Lunch arrived soon after ordering; a humans plate, salad, monte cristo sandwich and sautéed spinach. It was all very tasty! I have been to Monti's many times for staff functions, family dinners, date night, drinks or getting together w/ girlfriends. It never ceases to please."

  • "Food was exceptional. I had the Lamb, and my husband had the duck. We would recommend them and order them again. Our wonderful server recommended the lemon tart. It was a delicious way to complete this exceptional dining experience. We will definitely be returning. Thanks so much!! We loved every minute!!"

  • "Was in town for a dinner at Meadowood and went here for Sunday brunch the next morning. We went here because it got a nice nod in the Michelin Guide as a Bib Gourmet choice and was the only brunch place to get this in Santa Rosa. We had a really nice breakfast, all 3 of us ordered something different and everyone had a wonderful meal. Average was about $13, I'd go back for sure."

  • "changed menu...much smaller portions. no longer serve fries with mussels :(. yes, they did lower prices, but I would rather pay more and get it with fries. and aioli."

  • "Food was very good (loved the duck and lamb shank) and portions were generous. Service was terrible though. Started with having to wait for our table that we had reserved despite arriving 5 minutes after our reservation time. Next, we were never brought bread. We asked for water for our table and only 2 of the 3 of us were given water. When the food was brought out, we were asked if there was anything else we needed, We mentioned we were missing our sauteed spinach. We were halfway through our meal when our waitress came to see how everything was. We told her the sauteed spinach never arrived. She left to check on it and brought it out quickly. Reviewing the receipt the next day, we saw we were charged twice for the spinach!"

  • "Once again I have discovered a diner cannot go wrong with the Starks. I have now eaten at all their wonderful places. It will definitely be the place I stop when at Montgomery Village. Fortunately I live in Healdsburg."

  • "Monti's is an overall EXCELLENT place to dine. This was our second time there. The waitstaff are great and the food is exceptional. The bar was busier then our first dinner there, however, the noise level was not a problem."

  • "Love the food, ambiance and service - always a comfortable environment- what good is the best food if you are not comfortable"
    Dined on 2/9/2014
  • "Very, very loud, lousey table even though I had requested a quiet one, salad was terrible, dirty and tasted very bad, main course was good, drinks were flat and over priced. Overall condition of establishment is unkept, lights in ceiling are falling out, dirty walls, Desert was very good, This place needs an overhaul! Owners are capitolizing on its past name, not quality."

  • "I really like Monti's and love the food. However we have gone for dinner, and if there is a group of people who've had a few cocktails, the noise is intolerable. So I enjoy going for lunch, especially when you can eat out side. Most pleasant then."

  • "We had originally wanted to dine somewhere else and this restaurant was the only one with availability on a Saturday night. I am sure glad we ended up there. From the moment we walked in and were hit with the amazing smells, to the butcher's block appetizer and lavendar infused cocktail, we were enthralled. The food was nothing short of amazing. The scallops and hanger steak were cooked to perfection. We even called the chef out to express our amazement at how wonderful it was. She was lovely, explaining how she cooked our meals and pointing out some of her favorites on the menu. The ambience was warm and inviting and the wait staff were excellent. We will definitely go back and bring friends."

  • "We have been to Monti's so many times we can't count. Never have we been disappointed. I have written several previous reviews, and I could just copy and paste them. One special comment - we love to sit at the raw bar. I have a hard time hearing in groups, and this allows us to carry on a quiet conversation. It's a great place to sit and enjoy a meal. And, you never know - Terry and/or Mark Stark (owners and wonderfully gracious people) might just join you!"

  • "Another comforting meal at Monti's. Although it was a Thursday with the roast pig on special and very tempting, we are on the regimen, so went with the Wedge salad to start, an excellent shared dish, then my dining companion ordered their grilled shrimp and I dealt my diet a severe blow by ordering the Hobb's bacon and onion pizza, thus working the pork back in one way or another. Everything came promptly and was delicious. Our friendly and informative server was a delight. We shattered the remaining hope for our weight loss with a half-bottle of Cab Franc and left the restaurant happy, contented and at least fifty pounds heavier than when we entered. Some nights you just need something good - that's when we go to Monti's."

  • "My friends and I have many lunches at Monti's and, in the past, have experienced attentive service and the tasty reliable food. For the first time, we were disappointed in our service. The order was simple and brought suitably, but when the plates were removed we waited for the waiter and the coffee/dessert order, but no one showed up. One of the party got up and asked another helper for coffee help, and when that order was taken, we waited again. We were enjoying ourselves and are not persnickety, but we all expressed surprise at the lack of attention. The restaurant was not that busy, but there didn't seem to be that much help around, so perhaps the server had too many tables. No doubt, a one time glitch."

  • "Great spot for any occasion. The food is excellent, the chef creative. The staff is knowledgeable about what wine to drink with what. We mentioned that it was our anniversary and they offered us a complimentary dessert. I would go again."

  • "None came with the $13.50 burger (plus $1.50 for slivers of avocado) but I wasn't about to pay $6 for a "side" of fries. Been many times and overall a decent place, if not somewhat overpriced."

  • "My party of 3 came for a brunch reservation & were the first ones in the restaurant. Perhaps they had not fully gotten into the swing of things yet, but there were a few misses. We ordered an appetizer to share that, after taking a while to arrive, the server told us would be delivered after our entrees due to the fact that the oven hadn't been turned on properly. He was apologetic. Additionally, two in our party ordered the eggs benedict. One person had a poached egg that had fallen into the potatoes before it was set in front of her on the table. The other person had a poached egg that was yolk-only, it seemed the white had fallen off somewhere in the pot but it wasn't noticed. Otherwise, the ambiance was pleasant & friendly."

  • "This restaurant is my favorite in Sonoma County - unpretentious and cozy, the atmosphere invites conversation and relaxation. It is great for family celebrations, a quiet night out, lunch with your mom in a day of shopping, client meetings. Great menu with high marks going to the wild mushroom pizza, arugula salad (side to the daily quiche), hummus plate, pork chop, lamb burger, kumamoto oysters, and twist of fate cocktail. The wine list features some local wines as well as international wines; pricing is affordable with a nice yet not overwhelming number of selections. Recommend making reservations for weekend dinners especially during the summer if you wish to sit outside. Service is well paced, welcoming, friendly."

  • "I am a frequent diner at Monti's. The staff is always great and the food delicious. It is a warm and inviting atmosphere and has become my "go to" spot!"

  • "I have had many lunches and dinners at Monti's . The French frys were cold and soggy the mussels were dry sent them back. In the past they serverd mussels and frys together. Now it's over 20.00 for both and a piece of quiche is 16.00 that's over the top. It's getting harder to find things on the menu. I talked to the manger about it she seem not to care. It's going to be along time before I go back."

  • "The menu is varied and has a wide selection to accommodate the kids and the adults. Service was good and we liked the ambience that allowed for talkative diners."

  • "Great food, great service, reasonable prices, a very nice, casual setting. I love this place and highly recommend it. If you go for brunch, by all means have the Bloody Mary, and ask for it "spicy." It is 'great!""

  • "The kitchen put out great food, tasty & well prepared. The atmosphere is always noisy going from very noisy to LOUD, so it's not a place for a quiet, romantic evening. The service is the weak spot - empty glasses and dishes were not bussed in a timely fashion or even at all. We ordered an appetizer to share and received small plates for the purpose. The plates were never cleared and when our large salad arrived we were expected to re-use the appetizer plates for the salad course. The server never seemed to understand that food and beverage are intended to go together; timing was clearly not understood either. Altogether very poor experience with service but really VERY good food; we'll try again and hope the staff gets some coaching."

  • "I can count on Monti's to deliver deeply satisfying taste treats. Margherita pizza from the wood oven is divine. They do a creative job of orchestrating local veggies with any given meat entree. But avoid a table near the door on cold nights. Hard surfaces make sound level a bit harsh. Otherwise, ambiance is warm & cozy. Desserts are a must-try ."
