A word from Montgomery Inn - At the Boathouse
Montgomery Inn at the Boathouse is one of the most popular restaurants in Greater Cincinnati. Our world-famous ribs, our friendly service, and our striking view of the Ohio River, makes us a unique restaurant that you and your friends & family will remember long after your meal is over.

Sports fans will love the upstairs sports lounge with sports memorabilia on the walls, as well as the autographed photos of famous visitors who have dropped by. So come on in and get yourself some ribs and watch your favorite team in a fun, classy atmosphere.

Our world-famous ribs are definitely a hard act to follow but we found a way. For dessert, indulge in another Cincinnati culinary tradition: Graeter's black raspberry chip ice cream.

  • "Excellent food. Strawberry Shortcake was amazing."

  • "My husband and I were sat at a horrible table. When I inquired about another table in the restaurant, I was told no. Before I could protest, the hostess was gone. I never even pulled out my chair, my husband and I promptly left the restaurnat without dinner."

  • "The $30 was a great deal with just right amount of salad, ribs and dessert. Montgomery Inn always has great deals."

  • "I don't get to Cincinnati often enough, but when I do this is my first choice for dinner. The location, food and atmosphere combine to make this one of my favorite spots in any city. A good meal in the restaurant followed by a drink on the porch upstairs overlooking the river is the recipe for a most relaxing evening out."

  • "as far as a scenic view goes - it was lovely. our server, Jerimie was fantastic & truly made it a wonderful & accommodating experience. the food was fine, certainly not brag-worthy, and Jerimie quickly remedied any issues. if you're only having one meal in Cincy, i wouldn't make this it."

  • "We planned a trip to Cincy for our 25th wedding anniversay. Multiple people told us we HAD to eat at Montgomery's with much rantings and ravings! We arrived and were seated at a nice table by the window, and ordered the 3 for $30 meals. We both ordered the full rack of ribs, and were very excited to try them. I am so sorry to say that they were overcooked, tough, and had some sort of crust on them. To top it off, the barbecue sauce was pretty bad, too. It might have been nice to offer a variety of bbq sauces. Regarding the service, the waiter for the section next to us gave us much more attention than our own server. We almost gave him the tip! Anyway, a very disappointing experience, to be sure."

  • "Ask for first floor- upper remote dining is 2 flights of stairs -booths looked more comfortable but limited view."

  • "The ribs & shrimp were great, but my son's brisket was dry. The waitress seemed annoyed that we were placed in her station and just wasn't very friendly."

  • "We happened to hit on an all-you-can-eat-ribs night. Great food at a wonderful price. The waiter was excellent, very friendly and helpful since it was our first time there."

  • "If you haven't had Montgomery Inn ribs, you haven't experienced Cincinnati. Amazing, fall off the bone. Everything was great. Service was spot on."

  • "Have lived in Florida for the past 30+ years. Always make a point to get to Montgomery Inn when I'm back in town. Quite simply the best ribs ANYWHERE!"
    Dined on 7/4/2014
  • "We were under the impression that we had made a reservation but were surprised to find out that when we arrived, we were put on a wait list. As we had tickets to a Reds game we were on a limited schedule and waiting made us late. We would have made reservations at a different restaurant that truly accepted reservations."
    Dined on 7/4/2014
  • "Ribs were better than usual. Falling off the bone and moist. The roasted chicken was perfect."

  • "After reading other reviews, I'm sorry that some others had a less than great time. Everything was good for us. The only thing that I can comment negatively about is the overall pricing. It is a touch high - but I guess they have to pay their bills, too. Some of the special pricing eases the pain a little about the cost. The 3 for 30 is a no-brainer. For a couple of bucks more, you get the three courses. Ribs are still great, just a little high."

  • "You know it will be a great meal at Montgomery Inn. That's without question. You think other places you've been to have great ribs, until you go back to Montgomery Inn. The first bite leaves everyone else making ribs behind. The Boathouse makes it extra special with gorgeous views. A definite recommend. It's worth the trip downtown."

  • "Our server was fantastic even with the 3 children. Very patient and created a rapport but treated us like royalty!"

  • "I have been coming to Montgomery Inn for at least 40 years. We started at the one on Montgomery Road and I really love the Boat House for the atmosphere."
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "One of our appetizers had hair on it. Got bread but no butter. Asked for ketchup after getting food, took about 10 min. Ordered med steak but came well done. Took a while to get checks."
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "It was difficult to get refills on our drinks. Food sat on tray for too long before being handed out."

  • "The food was good and tasty but it took a long time to receive it."

  • "Very disappointed in this most recent visit to Montgomery Inn. We were there to celebrate the 45 Wedding Anniversary of my parents, who wanted to go to the Boathouse last year as well. Issues at hand were the Salads and the Ribs. Two of us got the house salads. They came to us and looked as if they had been stacked in the refrigerator, prepared EARLY in advance. The lettuce was as flat as can be and looked compressed. It looked like the croutons (the completely flavorless, unless you call OIL flavor) were placed strategically around the edges as spacers. Just appalling. Then the Ribs came. I wish I could attach a picture. The BONES on each rib were showing nearly the full length, hardly any meat at all."

  • "service was slow, took 30 minutes just to get the bread and a glass of wine. Food was cold. Would not go back"
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "Our server Jeff M. made this an exquisite dining experience for our first visit here. We opted for the 3 for $30 option that was flavorful, especially the ribs. It was an excellent value but Jeff's attentiveness sealed the deal for us."
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "Server was not very friendly or into suggestive selling. Seemed like we were doing her a favor by being there."
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "Restaurant is good but the reservation process is poor. Even with a reservation, you may wait up to 1 hour for a table. They don't have reservations, they have preferred seating"
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • "Still a Cincinnati favorite, but the food was so-so this evening and on the expensive side."
    Dined on 6/24/2014
  • "Good view, good food, and a nice place to introduce someone from out of town to Cincinnati culture."
    Dined on 6/22/2014
  • "A friend was visiting from out of town so I took her to the boathouse as a treat. When I asked the person who seated us about outdoor seating, she was pretty condescending and told us where she would seat us. i thought this was inappropriate, since I knew we would be spending at least $100. I would have liked a little more attention and courtesy. The food was very good, however, and my friend and I ended up being happy."
    Dined on 6/22/2014
  • "As usual, outstanding ribs - IMO the best in town - and great drinks. The Boathouse is my favorite restaurant in Cincinnati."
    Dined on 6/22/2014
  • "Seated right away...ribs of course! Strawberry shortcake was awesome also."
    Dined on 6/22/2014
  • "I was disappointed to learn that my open table reservation was really call ahead seating. We had to wait 45 minutes after our reservation. The service was good, but it's not that great."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "I made my reservations via open table, for my 21st wedding anniversary. I asked for a table with a view and kind of secluded so we can enjoy a nice conversation, and I didn't get either. We asked to be moved to the next table over which was by the window and we were told that we couldn't move to that table. I enjoy coming to the boat house, but I think that the tables are too small and for some reason they cram everyone into one area and they should acknowledge your seating request that you make. They seem to have a nice size outside seating area, but we have never been able to enjoy it."
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • "the food was excellent and the service was great. i would recommend this to all my friends. i hope to come back soon and be able to sit near the window. it looks like a great view."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "We had a dinner in the boathouse and where looking forward to the perfect Ribs. When we arrived a large group (>30) of kids where already there i the dining room, which caused a noislevel which was like in a turkish bazar. It was simply to loud to enjoy the restaurant. Furthermore the service staff was so busy with serving the group, that we did not felt realy welcome, when we tried to order our food. Neverthanless the ribs are still amazing and worth to go there, but next time when i make a reservation I would like to know about such groups upfront."
