A word from Montgomery Inn - At the Boathouse
Montgomery Inn at the Boathouse is one of the most popular restaurants in Greater Cincinnati. Our world-famous ribs, our friendly service, and our striking view of the Ohio River, makes us a unique restaurant that you and your friends & family will remember long after your meal is over.

Sports fans will love the upstairs sports lounge with sports memorabilia on the walls, as well as the autographed photos of famous visitors who have dropped by. So come on in and get yourself some ribs and watch your favorite team in a fun, classy atmosphere.

Our world-famous ribs are definitely a hard act to follow but we found a way. For dessert, indulge in another Cincinnati culinary tradition: Graeter's black raspberry chip ice cream.

I'd always heard about the Montgomery Inn. We were in Cincinnati to see a Bengals game and thought it would be a fun place to dine after the game. The food was fairly good but the ribs had too much sauce for my taste. Service was excellent and the view (our table was at the window) had a great view of the Ohio River - probably even prettier at night as we were there during the early evening daylight. Best part of the meal was dessert - the profiteroles.

Somewhat disappointing that even with a reservation we had to wait 30 minutes. However, drinks at the bar assuaged our disappointment and the food redeemed it altogether.

As billed, solid food and great service. Very good ribs and chicken. Excellent brisket. Pulled pork and chicken good but not as good as ribs, brisket, or smoked chicken. Appetizer potato chips ok, but nowhere near as good as buckhead diner chips in Atlanta. Mac and cheese very rich and a bit too cheese saucy for my taste. Fantastic service - we'll gauged and well timed, very pleasant.

We had a great time, only a bit disappointed, bcs the ribs I got were actually kind of tough. Extremely unusual, I've eaten there many times and never had any like those. I should have spoke up and complained, but I hate doing that. Other than that everything was great as usual! Love MI especially the Boathouse!

I can't say enough about Montgomery Inn's delicious food! Their ribs will always be my favorite, but this time I had the Porkchop and it was scrumptious! My only issue was with our service, but I found this to be the exception, not the rule. Our server seemed to be in a hurry, as she was ready to take our order almost immediately after we were seated and didn't even have a chance to open the menu. She wasn't rude or unpleasant, just not as friendly and pleasant as I am used to. When my drink was empty, I couldn't find her for a refill. I was the last one eating, and I had a different server try to take my plate as I was taking a bite of food. My issues were not major ones, but could be improved upon. I will be back for a future visit!

The seating was great and we got a very nice table overlooking the river. It so happened that we landed on a all you can eat ribs day. The whole group ordered that and it was delicious. The server was very good and he brought out a special dessert for my wife with a candle. It was a wonderful evening with the family and appreciated by the birthday girl!

I am a college student and whenever my family comes to visit from out of town we always go to Montgomery Inn Boathouse. It is a great restaurant with lots of options and reasonably priced. It has a great atmosphere, the wait is never too bad if you have a reservation, and the staff is wonderful.

montgomery inn is renown for its taste and style. I took my girlfriend there for a special occasion, made sure to book a reservation a week in advance and still waited over an hour despite my reservation. What was the point in that? The food was good and so was the service but for the price I would expect to have treated in a more timely manner give the preparations I made. I know this would not be the case if I were famous. Montgomery Inn is a great restaurant, but not good for us common folks.

I have lived in Cincinnati all of my 54 years. Going to Montgomery Inn has always been a treat. But the last 3 times that I have been there, the food has just been a little disappointing. The ribs are delicious - as one should expect - but they really do SLATHER them with an awful lot of sauce. I had a crab cake which didn't taste like much of anything. My husband had brisket with the same result. It's as if any item NOT drowned in barbecue sauce is just bland - like perhaps the ingredients aren't fresh??? I will say that there was an evening that a girlfriend of mine went to the bar; had a wrap & 2 cocktails and THAT was wonderful, but the full course meals - meh.

Enjoyed our meal while visiting with family in the Cincy area. The reason for 3-stars is we ordered crab cakes for appetizer & thought they had been frozen and out of box as they were mushy, tasteless, and definitely not worth $11 each. The waitress talked us into getting two since their were four in our party...waste of money. I had ordered the wedge blue cheese salad which came after my main dish.

The Food was very disappointing. We ordered the $30 special. The fried shrimp came out within 2 minutes of us ordering so we knew they were pre-making them and they weren't very good. We ordered a shrimp cocktail, and the sauce was funky. I've made better cocktail sauce at home. I liked my chips and slaw that came with my pulled chicken sandwich, which was okay. My husband only ate about half of the slab. He didn't care for them. The dessert came with ice cream in some kind of soggy pastry that we peeled off. I much rather have had just a scoop of ice cream. I hate to be so critical, but I thought the restaurant should know what their patrons think. We won't be back.

The Montogmery Inn Boathouse can always be counted on for great food, wonderful attentive service and delicious food. No one in my party even had their famous ribs ! The beef, the fish special and the salmon were all delicious. The Boathouse is also wonderful for any celebration. The week before, I was celebrating a birthday at another downtown alleged"hot spot" restaurant where my birthday girl was told that restaurant could not provide any birthday dessert as it would insult the chefs (??)-this after spending $300 ! In contrast, the Montgomery Inn was full of celebrants with the candles and the songs and the happy customers- I will pick the Montgomery Inn Boathouse any day over its less friendly, more expensive downtown competition!!

We had a gift card, so decided to try it again after not being there fro awhile. Initially given a table along an inner wall with lots of guests and wait staff coming by. Asked to be moved and the waitress had to ask the manager. Food was good, but definitely not worth the price charged. Only one side with each entrée; I don't know of many restaurants that don't give you two sides. Noise level was very high. Very efficient and active service.

We had the tough decision of going to October fest in Cincinnati or to the Boathouse! after going back and forth we ended up at the boathouse. My wife loved it. they had a special 3 for $30 and I was all over it. I chose the full rack and I ordered the wedge loaded with bacon and blue cheese and the cheese cake for desert! my wife loved the wedge and cheese cake. She was raving over the meal long after we were gone. She also liked all the activities on the river. everything was perfect! We also had a delightful waitress.

I wad trying to educate a new Cincinnatian on Cincinnati dining traditions. I have been to the Boathouse several times but not for a few years. I have to admit to being a bit disappointed with the food and very disappointed with the service. The waitress was prompt but so unfriendly. I got the impression that she just did not like people because she didn't spend one second more than absolutely necessary at our table. It put a damper on the experience.
