The Blue room offers the same flexibility in the soft glow of Blue Light, and a relaxing twenty foot water wall. Seating 40 comfortably, this room is completely private.

  • "Went there on our 6th wedding Anniversary and the appetizers and the main meals were awesome! Presented fabulously and cooked to perfection. My wife had the 6 oz. fillet -- while I had the Tomahawk Pork Chop and they both were great. The chef came out and talked with us for a few minutes and prepared us a śpecial' desert for our Anniversary - which was a chocolate fondue ´flourless' cake which was just amazing... highly recommended and cannot wait to go back."

  • "Montarra's is my wife's favorite NW sub restaurant. Since it was her birthday, she gets what she wants. We dined there on Sat evening. We were seated promptly even though we were a few minutes late for our 7:00PM reservation. I did request a booth via Open Table which we did not get, but we were seated a nice table for two. Started with the date appetizer, which I must say exceeded my expectations. My wife had the mixed grill, and I had the Berkshire pork chop, both tasty. We finished with the donut balls, which sound odd, but are one of the best deserts you will have. I would go in to more detail, but just try it. Gina was our server and I would be remiss if I didn't say she was a prefect complement to our dining experience at Montarra."

  • "Tried it once on a whim and fell in love. Ross has been a great waiter that we ask for repeatedly. Many of the nights have I said okay here is my choices, you pick. He does right by me every single time. WOW. The salmon is the best. Stuffed mushrooms to die for. We have brought our teenage sons with us and they love it too. Plenty of food, worth the price!"

We like to arrive early to get a drink in the bar just because it is a cool place. The specials are to die for-- The meatloaf, a fig bruschetta were outrageously delicious, although I usually get the Sea Bass which is always good. This place has never disappointed."

  • "I frequent Gibson's and Ruth Chris, although the preparation is different, the amazing food and chef's preparedness has been great for years. The chef is impecable, coming up with new seasonal favorites. If you observe Lent or are vegan there are many options too. Their drink and wine selection is excellent. I absolutely love their medjool bacon wrapped dates; they are a sinful pleasure for an appetizer or a savory dessert! Enjoy a little heaven in the burbs!"

  • "I have loved this place for years, but my last visit makes me wonder if something is "off." No table cloths (and our table was pretty beat up-maybe the linen service didn't show?), service was so-so (appeared to be one waitress for the entire restaurant, we had to ask for bread (although other tables received it no problem), we had to ask the waitress for water refills (the water guy kept turning away when we attempted to catch his eye). Food was excellent - our 6-top ordered an assortment of entrees (scampi, salmon, filet) after the great small plate appetizers (scallops, filet crisps), and finished by splitting 3 desserts to celebrate a birthday. Excellent bar and bartender. Will absolutely go back, I truly hope this was a fluke!"

  • "Montarra is a jewel in an unlikely spot, an Algonquin strip mall. The restaurant has two stunning Chihuly chandeliers and a wall of water. The food is fabulous. It is like dining in a top-rated Chicago restaurant without the cost and hassle of valet parking. We had the Chilean Sea Bass with a polenta cake and seared scallops over parsnip puree with spinach and micro greens. Our appetizers were Canadian Black mussels and tempura asparagus. We loved the appetizers and entrees. The food was cooked perfectly. The service was spot on. We had a lovely relaxing evening dining at Montarra."

  • "My wife and I discovered Montarra Grill almost a year ago and keep finding ourselves drawn back. Very good food - I have yet to encounter a less than excellent dish. The price is reasonable for the quality and quantity, the portions are well thought out and the staff / environment is invariably very pleasant. I am not a drinker so I cannot comment on the wine list or bar. My wife and I have raved to our friends about the wonderful experience which we continually receive at Monterra Grill. I consider this a kind of hidden gem and will certainly be back again soon. Cost for my wife and I has ranged from ~$80-$120 depending on the dishes ordered."

  • "I ahve the salmon with a boursin crust. I was afraid it would be too cheesy, but the cheese was just another layer of flavor to the salmon. Makes me wish I could make this at home to have it every night. I typically talk about the amazing food, but this time, I want to mention the service. The bartender remembered the name of the wine I like there - which i kept forgetting (Importal Zin). She sees so many people, so it meant a lot that she could remember this. Our waitress for dinner this night provided the best service I've ever experienced. The restaurant was very busy, but she made a point of checking in on us and letting us know the status of our meal. She really made our experience that much better."

  • "After being away for 4 years, we are glad we came back. The food is back to its excellence standard. The staff go out of their way to make sure you meal is perfect - even if it means changing some things up due to allergies. I had the lamb lollipops in a berry sauce. One of my favorite things to eat. Husband got a pasta dish - can't remember name. The pasta was cooked perfectly with just enough sauce. He wished there was just a little more cheese, but that was only when I pushed for him to mention something that wasn't perfect. Can't wait to go back."

The portion sizes were smaller than expected, smaller than normal and certainly smaller than the (not small) price of the food (for the price we paid, my wife and I both expected larger portions). The service was ok, not bad, but not great either - I'd say about average. The restaurant was noisy noisy enough that talking across the table was sometimes a bit difficult. The metal and concrete construction of the ceiling was the reason for the excessive noise. The solution is simple: The restaurant needs to soundproof the ceiling to reduce the noise reflections that make that room so loud."

  • "It is rare in this day and age to find a restaurant in your neighborhood that is absolutely fit for a gourmet. The chef at Montarra Grill is gifted. It's not about quantity but exquisite flavors that make you want to close you eyes and savor every bite. We went there for Valentine's Day and the special menu did not disappoint. The Angus beef tips were the most tender I've ever had. Everything was amazing! The mood was romantic with candles everywhere and a quiet atmosphere you don't find anymore. Our water glasses were never low and our dishes were whisked away as soon as we were done with them; along with any crumbs. Montarra Grill has now become our favorite place to go for fine dining at a reasonable price. Bravo, chef!"
