Monsoon Asian Kitchen & LoungeAwesome mealTonight we went to Monsoon, this was our 5th or 6th visit there. The nite was perfect. All of the food was delicious. The shrimp. Tempura was beyond delicious as we're all of the other appetizers and main dishes we got. The cod was magnificent. The waitress Joanna was outstanding, and the manager even came by to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, which was very nice. We celebrated a birthday tonight, and they made the evening extra special. Food was very good, we had upstairs and loved looking at the kitchen as they cook. Drinks outstanding-Babylon Express! The biggest criticism I can give is that its very, very noisy. We were 7 people and couldn't even understand each other at 8pm. It was the first time I tried the chicken chow mein, and all I can say I'm sorry I waited so long to try it. The pork belly app was fabulous, but I was slightly disappointed with the black pepper spare ribs as they were flavorless, and I couldnt taste or spot a single pepper grind. From what I understand the shaking beef is a signature dish, and my husband said it was the best beef dish he's had in years. The Singapore Sling cocktail was excellent, very tasty. We were seated in the 1st dining room off the bar area, and were alone in that room until we were halfway through with our entree's. Some may appreciate the privacy, not me. As you walk in and see the exquisite detail of the decor, you are transformed to an exotic locale. The bar is warm and inviting. We were escorted to the upper level for our meal, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. We were a party of five, but we had ample space between us and the adjoining tables. We were neither crowded nor rushed with our food choices. Our food by the way, from the calamari appetizers, to our entrees of garlic shrimp to spare ribs was tasty, and delectable. Some of my party were there for the first time, and they enjoyed themselves so much that they vowed to come back again. The only thing that I do not mind paying for is their cowboy roll which is hands down my most favorite sushi roll I have ever had. Their sunset menu isn't too bad either, which is a 3 course price fix for $21, which I would recommend for those going for the first time. From the moment you walked on the property to entering the lobby to being greeted with a smile. Out table was up top with a Birdseye view of the interior. Our waitress Deanna was fantastic and well versed with the menu. The food was fresh with distinctive flavors. She also gave us a great complimentery dessert with a birthday candle. There are even twists on traditional dishes that provide unexpected flair to plates like General Tso's Chicken; while some of the familiar taste is there, it's just not the same heavily fried and sugared ball of meat. My one disappointment was the Kim Chee Pancakes; while we expected that delectable taste from the marinated cabbage and spice, what we tasted was simply a fried pancake, good to dip in other sauces, but without the desired Korean flavor. Due to the number of wonderfully described dishes on the menu, this will become a must place to re-visit.
