The bar is great - we decided to have a cocktail before we sat down for dinner. We are not really into sweet drinks, but our server said the Mai Tai was not to be missed. It was AMAZING - with lilikoi foam. The dinner menu and wine lists were wonderful, - everything was delicious - the poke tacos, fish, burgers, dry mein... (if you are not a vegetarian ask for it with the pork!) were all fabulous. Outdoor seating provides a beautiful ocean view, especially gorgeous when there is a nice sunset. Bar is contemporary. Happy Hour is a great deal for drinks and appetizers. Everything was spot on, but the food is really what set it apart. Before we even got there we checked out the menu and knew it was going to be hard to decide. The menu is pretty diverse and hits a lot of different price points with pizza, fish and chips on the low end and then more gourmet fish dishes on the higher end, which is really nice. The ambiance at Monkeypod is really fun and casual, while we were there they had live music. Our waiter (Kevin, I believe) was great - he was professional, had great recommendations. The meal we had was absolutely the best of our trip. I had the mac crusted fish special and my husband had the ahi. The fish special was a really small serving (less than 4 oz) priced at $38. The fish sandwiches are served with a slaw, but the slaw was literally two small bites and more like a garnish.
