We made a reservation for 7 people through Open Table. We called to change it to 11 people and they were happy to accommodate us 30 minutes earlier. We also had two servers which was awesome. Our party included five children and they were more than hospitable.

I took a group of 6 to Monkeypod because I was told by someone who knows the Merriman's (Owners) that it was really good; I was not disappointed! The atmosphere and decor were nice; service was even nicer, and the food was outstanding all the way through (from starters to dessert). I would highly recommend eating here if you are staying or playing (golf) in the Ko'olina area, or looking for a nice break from more crowded areas of Oahu

This was our 2nd visit, with our first trip in early 2013 right after they opened. Service has improved from before, although the menu hasn't really changed; I was hoping to see a few new items on the menu. The drink selection was great and the menu variety means you'll find something for most eaters. The portion sizes are small - CPK is a much better value if you want pizza & burgers are small too, so don't come hungry or with big appetites, or be prepared to pay. Parking is the biggest problem - the parking lots are WAY TOO SMALL for the number of shops/restaurants here. Expect to wait for a stall to open up if you're driving here. If you're staying at the Aulani or Ihilani, do everyone else a favor and just walk to the restaurant.

Dinner at Monkeypod Kitchen was a 7.5 out of 10 on 11/8/14. We had the following items: Mai Tai-Good drink. Served the traditional way. Recommended. Fries-2 varieties. The standard and truffle oil. Recommended. Kahlua Pork Burger-Loaded with pork. Good bun. Recommended. Brussels Sprouts Pizza-Interesting combo of flavors and toppings. Recommended. Fish Tacos-Fresh fish. Good salsyk. Recommended. Kids Noodle Bowl-Standard noodle bowl. Large portion. Recommended. The prices aren't too bad. This is Hawaii after all. We ate outside so the ambience was good. Again it's Hawaii. Otherwise the ambience is nothing to scream about. Service was nice.

My wife and I celebrated our 5th anniversary last week in Hawaii, KO Olina and we visited the Monkey Pod twice. Both times were fantastic in food and service and vibe. First visit was at the bar where we ate some amazing Mahi fish chef dinner special plus 2 Mai Tai's. Delicious on all fronts. Banana Cream Pie for dessert. Unreal!! Next visit we sat outside as band plays on Fri - Sunday outside. We sat right in front of band and they were great as was our food and service. yes we had the same banana cream pie and it was still just as good. Thank you Monkey Pod. PS - Monkey Pod is a tree on the islands so look it up so you can impress your date.

The food here is delicious with creative combinations. Make sure to try the raw bar appetizer, the trio of shrimp, ahi, and octopus was so good I could of just ate that for dinner. The menu had lots of interesting choices that make you want to go back and try more stuff. I'm sorry I don't live close to be able to do that. The next time I'm on the island I will definitely go back again. Also they had a house ginger beer that was excellant.

We had the two specials of the evening, the fish and the beef. Each had a creative twist with local fresh ingredients. Beef was over cooked but still had good flavor. Fish special was delicious with very complex flavor profiles. Chocolate cream pie was the most delicious cream pie I've ever eaten... loved the dark chocolate! So light and delicious, with no cloying over sweet palate. Enjoyed the live solo guitarist but the sound was a little loud. Enjoyed the casual atmosphere. Good for a first date. Perhaps not for a special occasion. The pizzas, the truffle garlic fries and craft beer were all noteable.

My wife and I went to Monkeypod twice while staying in Ko'Olina. Monkeypod is within easy walking distance from all the resorts. It is a nice place for a dinner. It can busy and loud at times. You can always make a reservation.we like the happy hour. Drinks are a little bit cheaper, most appetizers are half off and most pizzas are $9. They are good, but rather small. All other items are relatively expensive like everything else in Ko Olina. Service is always very good.

This was our 2nd time at Monkeypod and it was another great experience. From the draft beers, happy hour and the amazing food, this place is definitely one of our favorite places! What's even better is that we don't need to drive into town through horrible traffic to get here. That's a plus in itself! We did have a couple of issues though. While we loved sitting on the 2nd floor, my poor husband had the sun in his eyes for the majority of our dining experience. We went at 5pm to get in some of the happy hour specials. Also, they had recently painted their railings but there wasn't any signage. My husband leaned onto it only to realize it was still wet. He tried washing it off but the residue stuck. Other than that though, will go again!

Over all a nice place to eat. Good menu selections and a couple specials. The NY strip was very tasty and perfectly done. We were there on holloween and all the employees were in costume. They all worked and on their choices..put in a lot of thought and effort, which says a lot about a restaurant, happy employees means a better experience for all.

This was our 2nd time at Monkey Pod and we were quite excited to bring my husband back for his birthday since last Father's day went so well. I am sorry to say we did not get the same experience. The food was fine except for the Margherita Pizza which I thought the diced tomatoes laying on top of the pizza instead of sliced tomatoes baked into the pizza it watery and bland. The service however was not what we expected it was disjointed between two servers I am assuming because of the large party seated in our section. However drinks were not refilled in a timely matter and just did not get the same level of excellent service from our previous visit. I am pretty sure we will be back hope it was just an off night

What a fantastic addition to the food, dining and nightly entertainment scene in Ko Olina. We had a great dining experience at the Monkeypod Kitchen. Recommended by friends who live local, we weren't disappointed with the food, service, staff, ambiance and ease of reservation. We enjoyed it so much that we went back again in the same week! All of our meals were well prepared, with plenty of choices for local fare excellently presented.

VERY expensive and food was marginal at best. Drinks were tasty, steak AND fish dishes (both $38 entrees) were way over cooked. I ordered my steak med. rare and it arrived well done. Service was lacking as well. Great ambiance but that's about it. Family of 4 spent $185 and that's with 1 shared appy and no dessert!

This place offers much for locals and visitors. It is a place to go for lunch, dinner, happy hour or just for cocktails. It's an open restaurant that can get warm at times but it didn't stop me from returning. The food is great. It's a bit pricey but Happy Hour takes good care of that. Dinner can range from $25-$50 per person. Happy hour can be less than $20 per person. Some favorites are: Hamakua mushroom pizza. Pumpkin ravioli. Kale salad. Spicy chicken wings, sashimi tacos. It's a great place for locals and visitors.

We were two adults and two kids. Service was friendly, prompt and attentive. The vegetable sides (beans, broccoli and Brussels sprouts) were all overdone and heavily spiced. The pizzas were OK and the tacos were good enough. The beer list is quite good. The noise level for a Wed night was way too high. We skipped dessert. I recommend Monkeypod, primarily because it is one of the few decent choices in Ko'Olina.

But who needs to eat steak when there are Fish tacos, poke tacos, pumpkin (or butternut squash) raviolis, Arugula & Kale salads... i could go on and on and on!!! Definitely the place to go if you like to eat foods with a new twist, different flavor combos and FRESH!

Had a reservation for a birthday celebration and our table was not ready. Worse part is, they were not nice about it and made us feel not welcomed. The manager ordered some complimentary appetizers to make up for the late seating and then charged us for it. When I pointed it out, she was kind of treating us like we were dumb. Food was just ok.

For dinner I was craving for some flatbread/pizza dishes & searched up places in my area. Just in case, I did make reservations & they had a slot in 15mins from when I booked it. Our server Liz was great. Loved her attitude & service was good. She made sure we were okay & checked up on us when we took a few bites of our meals. We ordered the Raw Bar mixed late & it was delicious. A must have for any locals, if you love tako (octopus) poke, ahi poke, and shrimp ceviche. We order a pizza not sure how full we were going to be, just in case we wanted dessert at the end but It was the Upcountry special that hit the spot! The dressing on the salad was mouthwatering & the steak was perfect to order. I definitely recommend this place & dine again!

My second visit to this restaurant and my last. The first visit, when there were 3 of us, the service was extremely slow and the food just as bad. The first time around we sent food back because of it coming our cold. This time, when I was dining by myself, things were the same. While my kale salad, the one bright spot of my dining experience, came out quickly, I waited quite some time for my entre. I had to waive my waiter down to ask about my meal and only then did he go check. He never came by my table prior to this to advise the status of my meal. At my waiter's recommendation, I ordered the Fish & Chips as the batter was supposed to be a light tempura batter; not so. It was doughy and seemed like more dough than fish.

Great spot for foodies when outside of Waikiki. The menu has a great selection and the quality of the food is wonderful. The garlic truffle fries, burgers, and tacos were all good. We repeated Monkeypod a few times when we stayed at the Aulani. I recommend making reservations to avoid waiting for a table, you should also specific in your reservations inside or out.
