We returned to the restaurant after a bad experience the last time. The food and service Saturday night was excellent. So glad we gave Mon Ami Gabi another try. My steak was as good as it gets. The waiter was totally professional and a credit to the restaurant. My wife needs gluten free and again the restaurant and the waiter did an excellent job.

we sat at a table in the bar. it took 15 minutes before a waiter came over to get our drink order. When our table was ready our party left and I waited for the check. After standing and then circling the bar I finally had to walk behind the bar to the cash register to get the bartenders attention and pay the bill. We ordered appetizers and dinner entrees. While we waited for the appetizers and waited we asked for more bread since it was taking so long. All of the appetizers came except for mushroom soup for one of our guests. We had to flag down the waiter and ask where the soup was. It finally arrived after everyone else had finished their appetizers. They took it off the bill. We ordered a warmed brie appetizer. Warm was not the word since they heated it enough that all of the brie had melted into a puddle with only the rind left and it clearly was a very small wedge that had melted. The skate wing that I ordered was over cooked and a little tough and the roasted cauliflower wasn't even warm.

We visited for Sunday Brunch. It wasn't terribly crowded when we got there. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Our food was delicious. We will definitely dine here again. The Eggs Florentine with artichokes was devine. And my husband raved about his crepe dish. Our only disappointment was how long it took for our food to arrive. If it weren't for the baguette they brought to the table (about a half hour before our meal was served) we might have been faint with hunger!

I have been to Mon Ami Gabi many times over the years. Saturday night we experienced poor service. The Steak Frites was great but the service was awful. The problem is that bad service is consistently happening the last few times I visited. The servers are disconnected from the customers and their bad service really effects the experience for a restaurant that makes great food. I hope they improve soon.

We've been here MANY times, but this time I went to Mon Ami Gabi with my wife, her parents, her brother and wife and their 3 kids. 9 is a lot for any restaurant to handle well, but our server did a great job. The special on Saturday was a bison ribeye which 3 of us had, It was really good, but a bit pricey at $40.00. I always get the escargot, but this time it lacked garlic, which the server told us people had complained about (too much garlic) Nonsense, that's the way it's supposed to be, I sure hope they remedy that. French onion soup is excellent as always, and their fresh warm bread is always perfect. My wife ordered the Steelhead (fresh fish) but it came out so dried out, she sent it back. That was disappointing. Still, they brought us nice desserts as we were celebrating birthdays, it was fun, they just need to fix the little things.

Everything was good, even the kids meals looked good and big portions for them. I loved how the kids plates were a porcelain bento box type style and they get delicious sides and a great price! I got the mussels and raw oysters, delicious, didn't care much for their style fries, but then again I've been against fries altogether recently! But it's a beautiful restaurant and great atmosphere and romantic kinda setting with the lighting :)

I'm almost a regular here. So that says something. For a chain, they generally do a good job. But there are two areas most in need of improvement: - the training of the wait staff: I am not your friend. I'm not your pal. I am your customer. In this context, we're not equals. You have to train your wait staff on how to address diners. They aren't born knowing this stuff. Then after you've trained them, management needs to monitor and manage the floor. - second, with all the hard surfaces, once the place gets half-full, the place gets LOUD! You can't carry on a decent conversation without YELLING! (if I can sneak in a third, like most places, you often serve red wines too warm)

We have been to Mon Ami Gabi many times for lunch and dinner. I actually prefer the lunch menu, but enjoy dinner as well. I do wish they still had the hamburger still on the dinner menu for the older teens that don't need or want to order the $25.00 steak. That was a bit disappointing.

Eight of us, including out of town guests and locals, had reservations for dinner at Mon Ami. Had the beautiful private dining room which made conversation easy. Menu is fantastic. We had a beautiful seafood starter to share that had shrimp, lobster and oysters. Some had the steak which was excellent. Two had the sole special and i had escargot. All excellent. Service was excellent! Made us feel special thru out the meal. One of the best wine lists in RTC. Love the French wines myself. Cant wait to go back again.

(to do better)... So maybe the idea of a French bistro is to bring French service to America, not so much the French food. Every time - and I do it very very rarely - I come to this restaurant I am taken aback by the not very friendly service, very reminiscent of the Parisian restaurants, which is not really something I want to remember when I eat out on the home soil... If food made up for it, it would be one thing, but it does not - nothing wrong with it, just not memorable or outstanding, so the service can be ignored.

Provided complaint. Remains of fat and gristle visible on plate. Server's offer to replace fat and gristle with more. Server did not come back during meal. Spouse could not order ice tea. No one came in response to complaint. No adjustment on bill.

I usually go to this place for Sunday brunch. They accommadate moderate size groups between 6-8 people very well. I made a reservation and arrived a little before the reservation time. The table was ready and we were sat immediately. Although very busy, the customers are never rushed and you really can just enjoy your meal. The food is fantastic. I've never had a meal here that was not good. The frites are amazing! Wven if my meal doesn't come with frites, I get them in a basket on the side.

Although this restaurant seems to cater to steak lovers, there are a few other choices on the menu which are quite good. I was surprised though that some sort of potatoes is served with every entree. Had to pay a little more to get a vegetable substitute. Not everyone in this day as age eats potatoes anymore. But overall good choice but pricey.

We met with friends, two couples, age 50 + but not very senior. We shared a bottle of Cotes du Rhone which was moderately priced ($36) and pretty good. Pumpkin soup was very good. Steaks were very good but the french fries they served were a bit too thin. As usual, the baguette, probably baked on the spot there was very good. Salmon salad was excellent. Staff was very friendly and very competent. We like the place. The only thing we do not like there is the noise level.

Excellent food, outstanding, friendly, professional service and when quiet Mon Ami Gabi can even be romantic. Early diners can enjoy the quiet and ambiance but usually by 7:00 pm it gets pretty noisy. In that vein it caters to the younger folks who like to shout at one another above the din while texting and talking on their cell phones. Some of us older folks still like to "dine" as Europeans do rather than "eat out" as if we were watching a football game.

Everything was wonderful!! Our server was stellar. She suggested beers and even brought a sample to try. We ordered the short rib and 2 different orders of the steak frites. I had the caramelized onion steak and my dad had the filet mignon. He loved his and my was cooked absolutely perfect. We ordered the blueberry crepe and puff pastry for dessert which was also scrumptious. The only reason I gave an overall 4 is that we had a reservation and didn't get sat until 30 minutes after the reservation. The manager offered to buy appetizers which was a nice gesture. The restaurant was also very loud, not somewhere to go for a first date or business meeting for dinner. Overall very pleased!

You can't go wrong with the escargot; and the steak au poivre is delicious! Pair that with the great wines that they have available, and you're set for a satisfying and yummy meal! If I remember correctly, they have specials on wines during the week; so if you get a chance to get out to Reston for dinner during the week make sure to take advantage! The bar is great too! First come first serve and full menu/great service as always! Cheers!

Mon Ami consistently offers the best food in the RTC. I've never eaten anything there I haven't enjoyed. I love the smoked salmon appetizer; the crème fraiche is a delicious addition. The seafood crepes are absolutely delicious and my personal favorite if you don't mind a rich dish. I've had a lot of the seafood and fish dishes. The only one I wouldn't order again is the Lobster Roll. It was good, but not as good as the one I get at another of my favorite local restaurants. My husband loves all of the steaks. The service is great and it is a vibrant, fun atmosphere. It is a little loud- typical of a French Brasserie. My only suggestion is that they soften the butter before serving it with the yummy baguette.

My mom and sisters met for lunch on weekday holiday. We had a nice time, our waiter was good, the food was very good and we all enjoyed our meal. For apps, we had the squash soup special - deliciously flavorful and distinct, the country pate - pretty good, but I was looking for a more European taste, French onion soup - not sure, but mom seemed to really enjoy it, escargot - delicious. For main dishes, we had the seafood crepe - very good, waffles w/blueberries - delicious, cheeseburger - tasted good, but a bit dry, and the chicken/mushroom crepe - very good and quite filling (no starter next time!). Our server was professional, polite and did a good job.

We went on a Sat afternoon for lunch... Hubby & I shared/enjoyed a half order of mussels - they were decent sized & broth was very tasty for a basic traditional style. Loved my seafood crepe served w/peas & a light-colored creamy sauce, which turned out to be more filling than I thought. Hubby had the Blueberry French Toast and he was thoroughly overjoyed w/his meal. Our mini baguette was warm and the butter was perfect for spreading. Our coffees were just right and we had the best table in the whole place and is my favorite. Elmer was our server and he was wonderful - professional, polite, very knowledgeable of menu items and all the specials, and he took great care of us without hovering or being pushy.
